Getting best foreign currency conversion rates
Speaking of the weakening USD to Colombian peso right now, what are you guys doing to get the best foreign currency rates? Are you ordering your money before the trip at a Wells Fargo / Bank of America / etc branch, using some sort of online service, getting cash at local ATM's in Colombia, etc? I would especially like to know, is there a good / cheap way to get your pesos in the United States before going to Colombia? I know that airport currency exchange places have the worst rates.
Asking price is just asking price
People like you are the reason why girls are now asking 1 millions for sex.
The asking price is typically just an opening bid subject to negotiations. It doesn't really matter what the girl is asking, only what you are willing to pay her. Often what the girl is asking is dramatically different than what she will be willing to accept. A lot of guys seem to upset with prices that a girl will ask for but if you don't ask for your dream rate, you will only get it. Isn't that the art of the dream? Ask for a crazy amount and then settle for what you were originally willing to accept.
It's been a good investment
FWIW a not insignificant % of the public in Colombia works for less than minimum wage. Ie off the books.
It is used as a price index so it actually affects other things. Their central bank raised interest rate by 1% to 10.25% due the the concern about the wage increase and inflation. The interest differential makes Colombia peso an attractive investment. The effect of peso appreciation is the same as inflation from the dollar perspective.
