I wrapped up my first trip to Columbia last week. I took a short 5 day trip to dip my toe into Medellin to see what it was like. The first day it rained like 5 hours at night, like poured. Other than that weather was good and what you expect from the city of eternal spring. Overall, it was a good trip. I had been contemplating visiting for a while but put it off due to the news of it being dangerous, I. E. Robberies, drugging, etc. Before planning my trip I did a lot of research. This post is to help others thinking about visiting Medellin for the first time. I am by no means an expert, these are just my impressions or what I learned. Also, keep in mind this is from the perspective of a middle aged, fit solo traveler. What I lack in youth, I make up for in wealth. I am on PREP and have mongered in many different countries and have been at the game now for almost two decades. My Spanish right now is limited to basic conversations. Knowing Spanish is a definite plus. Not sure how guys do it with only English. There are girls that speak English but they are limited and higher priced.
Lodging:
My flight arrived at 8:15 am so immigration was a breeze, like less than 5 minutes. I booked a day place to stay until I could check into my Airbnb at 4 pm. The place I booked was Hotel Ryo74 b in Laureles. Its a legit place and very nice for 6 hours $62. Its not a sleazy by the hour place. I could see a budget traveler staying here for a week. It had a restaurant, gym, etc. In room kitchenette and all other amenities.
The rest of my trip I stayed at the Energy Living building in El Poblado. It's a nice place and 10 minutes or less Uber to chica central. They take there security very serious there, requiring registration and even take a photo of the girl. I would guess 80% of the people staying there are mongers pulling girls from Parque Lleras. I had a classy place wood floors, leather furniture, awesome mood lighting, 75 inch TVs, bar, sound system, private balcony and Jacuzzi and a great view of the city ($280/ night). That said if I come back to Medellin again I will definitely stay in Laureles. I found myself going to Laureles a lot. I thought the restaurant scene was better, more interesting areas and also the better chica houses (casas de citas), were close to or in Laureles / Estadio. The main draw of El Poblado is Parque Lleras, which to be honest was not my thing (will describe more later in the post).
Research and Resources:
There are pearls of wisdom to be sifted out the conversations on this forum. I especially like some of the "posts of distinction" for useful information.
There is a local chica review site Catador Columbia that was helpful.
Chica Venues:
As others have posted you have several options for meeting the hot ladies of Medellin. Check out the Medellin List forum for a list of these places. I will provide addresses for the places I visited so you have them but the list forum is more comprehensive.
Chica Houses. Located primarily in Laureles and El Centrol you enter (buzzed into) these non-descript places and can see a line up (presentacion) of chicas. They are sometimes called spa but its really a brothel and was never offered a massage. Very similar to the chica houses in Spain. Also, some of the houses have their own websites where you can browse the women and make a date with them for a duration and time. These websites also have the services offered and the prices clearly stated. To make a date / appt (cita) you can call the house Whatsapp or some chicas also advertise on Mileroticos or Pasionprepagos. If you reach out to a chica via Whatapp and want an in call they will direct you to the casa. You usually need to give them 1 or 2 hours advance notice for the appointment, maybe longer if the chica is very popular. Also, some of the casa chicas do outcalls to your place.
Prepagos. These are sites where you can browse for hourly escorts that offer in-call or outcall services. The most popular sites I found were Pasionprepagos, mileroticos, photopregos. If you want high end options the following sites are good and many women offer lower prices for longer durations. La Celestine, Escortsfantasia, lasnenasbogota (have Medellin listings), alacartvip. For the common three sites you Whatapp the provider and negotiate services, duration, location and prices. The higher end sites have all that listed out.
Strip Clubs. Yes, just like in the western world and you can also take them to a room onsite for full menu of services. As mentioned on this forum the two most popular joints are Fase Dos, La Isla. There are others you can see on the list forum. I was planning to visit Fase Dos but ran out of time. I went to their site and watched some videos and based on what I saw the girls didn't seem any higher quality to what I saw in some of the better casas and where much more expensive. Others saying $600 mil COP to take a chica back to room. I have it on my to do for a future trip.
Streetwalkers and Parque Lleras. Some of the main areas are El Botero in El Centro and Parque Lleras in El Poblado. I checked out El Botero and did not see anything good. Mostly bigger chicas. Parque Lleras I checked out first in the day to see what the venue was like. Its a park about two blocks long and one block wide surrounded by clubs, bars and shops. I actually saw a couple of providers out in the day, one was a real young cutie. She was eyeing me up and was tempted to see her offer and check her age but had just got back from a casas and had planned to rest at my place before going out on the night. Came back the next day at night. In and on my way to the park I was solicited for drugs four times. IMO you would have to be crazy to buy drugs here. Undeniable there are some young working girls here that are hot, usually standing around in pairs or small groups, with an occasional single woman. I went somewhat early at 10 pm on a Wednesday was probably about 30-40 chicas standing around. The scene is mainly groups of young guys there to party and then pick up chicas. Although I did see quite a few couples walking around. Like salt of the earth average couples walking the park hand in hand. I did talk to two women to see what they were offering, they were friendly and transaction oriented. Quoted me $400 mil to begin and also tried to persuade me into doing a threesome. I did not ask for cedula so not sure their ages. Overall, this scene made me uncomfortable, especially the groups of young dudes hanging out, some tourists, some locals. In general, I think you are rolling the dice if you go to PL. You can truly luck out and find a hottie that will give you good service for a good price or one that is setting you up to be robbed or drugged. I would rather pay more for less uncertainty. If you are a criminal that wants to target a rich tourist they all know Poblado and PL is the place to go.
Massage Spas. Did not partake of this venue. Its similar to the western world with happy ending to full service.
Seeking and Tinder. Read so many horror stories about using these apps and getting robbed or drugged in Medellin. May be more dangerous than Parque Lleras. Did not use these at all.
My Experiences:
I mainly visited the chica houses and the prepago scene. The two houses with the best chicas IMO were Angeles Spa and Eclipse in Laureles. I would post both of there catalog sites where you can see prices and girls but I don't think I am allowed to on this forum. Any easy way to find them is to go to Mileroticos and under Medellin search Angeles and Eclipse and their ads with Whatapps # will display. Eclipse is in Simon Bolivar Send them a text and an auto message will give you the catalog sites and can ask who is available at the time. Of course, you can always show up at the place and when they answer the door say you are there for the "presentacion". All the house charge extra for oral natural (BBBJ). Some even charge for kisses. Yes, some chicas will do BBFS for a charge, many will not. Angeles was 180 mil for an hour plus 80 mil for oral natural. Eclipse is 160 mil for an hour, 60 mil oral natural. The two chicas I visited at these locations were both hot, highly reviewed and highly rated and my sessions were both good and the ladies were very nice after the act and we had a good conversation before I took off. FYI. If you want to take a shower in the casas after you get all sweaty with the girls the water is cold. Nothing like a cold shower after sex to wake you up. LOL. Interestingly enough the only casa I visited that had warm water was New Life. Place is an institution!
I also visited the sister house of Angeles called Chicas Plus. I put the address in another post. This was right after I arrived and it was 1 pm on a Monday so only three girls working. Decided to wait for a second line up. Waited for a second line up with some new girls and I like the last chica in the line up and quickly told the attendance women so I could get her before someone else did. She came back and we went to the room. I decided to do 30 minutes as I wanted to head back to Poblado to prep for my in home chica visit later. Safety. Call me paranoid but better safe than sorry:
I tried to keep a low profile. When I went out to meet the chicas I did not wear sneakers, sunglasses, a cap, or shorts. There are so many obvious tourists in El Poblado just screaming to be robbed. While I keep a low profile I am in no way kidding myself that I look like a local. Besides as soon as you start talking the gringo accent is not fooling anyone. If you are going solo definitely keep a low profile.
Don't walk around a lot. Always take an Uber places. Like in Laureles its easy to walk around to see things or visit restaurants / bars but there are many reports of people walking alone and being robbed at gunpoint or knifepoint. El Poblado is smaller and more condensed so you can walk it. My rule of thumb was if it took more than 10 minutes to walk somewhere I called an Uber. Don't take taxis as they are not safe. Sit in the front seat with you Uber driver. Uber legality in Columbia is muddy. Also, Uber drivers are harassed by taxi drivers and police. However, saying this Uber is still very common in Medellin. Therefore, do your driver a favor and sit in the front seat. Also, be aware they will not pick you up in the taxi area of the airport but ask you to go to the parking lot.
Stay at a Secure Lodging. This means if you plan to bring any chicas back to your place, ensure you are staying at a place that has security and makes the chica register and show ID. I stayed at the Energy Living Building in Poblado. It is excellent from that standpoint. They take a picture of the chica as part of registration and also you have to escort her out or call and let them know a women is leaving. Unless you want to get drugged having good security is a must. Be selective in who you invite to your place.
Don't get wasted or so high you leave yourself open to theft. Yes seems like common sense but I think this happens a lot.
Put things of value in a safe, lock them away or hide them. Even if your place has security a chica can steal from you without any drugs. Put money, wallet, car keys, jewelry or anything else of value that can fit in a ladies bag, in the safe or a hidden place.
Don't talk to people on the street. Many people will try to sell you stuff or beg money or want something from you. Just say no and shake your head and move on. Don't engage with them.
Outdoor seating in tourist areas, if you eat at a restaurant with outdoor seating or open air seating, don't sit at the tables close to the side walks or outside near streets. Its safer plus you won't be harassed by people trying to sell you stuff.
Last Impressions:
As I said above I can see the draw of Medellin. Vibrant, beautiful city that is very affordable. Chicas were undeniably hot and all services I received were good and the chicas were all nice. The down side is as a gringo you are a walking target, especially going solo. And as more of us go to Medellin for sex tourism the worse its going to get. You have to take the bad with the good. I have met Columbianas and even Paisas in other countries (Panama, St. Martin, Spain) and while its a little more expense its the same quality and style of women but without the danger. Would I return to Medellin? Most likely I will, but its not at the top of my list right now. I think my next visit to Columbia will probably be Bogota. The way you described those casas, with dudes sitting around waiting for line-up show together, (correct? All in one room waiting?) makes me cringe. The only thing I wonder is why you found the restaurant choices in Laureles better. I've stayed in both and prefer coming back to Manila / Poblado because of the restaurant choices, which I found quite lacking in Laureles (lots of street foot / street restaurants, but not the variety I've come to enjoy in Poblado). Of course, some excellent places in Laureles, I do go there on ocassion to eat, but not the wider variety I prefer in the Poblado area.

Some are simply more friendly and passionate and affectionate, and will give you that girlfriend feeling while you are with them. Either they actually enjoy what they do, or they are just much better actresses than the others. Other chicas will be more distant and cold by nature (although they might warm up over time with multiple sessions as you get to know each other better.) So if you are looking for GFE you need to sample lots of different chicas to find the ones you click with and who will treat you more personably and affectionately.
