I don't know what's your budget and how long you are planning to stay. Would have been better if you have added the information. Anyways I will add the damages so you can decide.

Bangkok has 4 major night-life scenes for foreigners.

1. Soi cowboy.

2. Nana plaza.

3. Patpong.

4. Khao san road.

All of these have birds which will go with you for some damage.

Nana and cowboy are in main Sukhumvit and very close to each other. Full of gogo bars and street birds. I will tell you later in report what are gogo bars.

Patpong. Not an expert, been there few times. Avoid going there, as you can be conned there if not smart enough. Mostly known for ping ping shows (no not table tennis).

Khao san road. Kind of shopping road, full of bars. Good place to hang out with friends and socialize. Quite far from main Centeral Bangkok, so upto you to decide if you want to go.

Gogo bars:

Well they have birds on ramp dancing with the polls, mostly in bikini (sometimes fully nude), and late at midnight do some nice shows. You have to buy beer if you wan to sit.
