Saw this, but would like to know what casa were shut down so we can avoid them and update the map.
Anyone else want to chime in?
P.S. Imagine being there during a raid! Yowzer.
Couple return trip to Medellin
Coming back and staying at the York again. June 2nd through the 11th. Will leave a trip report of course. Been reading about crack downs etc. If anyone has any feedback or advice on this let us know.
Just Act and Dress Normal
Fly into Bogota, have accomidtions ready and already booked. Book a seperate ticket from Bogota to Medellin, don't book a connecting on the same iteneirary (its actually cheaper a lot of the times I've found).
Also, real talk if you are black they are targeting more it seems based on the articles I've seen. Dress nice, wear a button-up shirt and look presentable, don't do flip flops, shorts or busy graphic t shirts or anything that remotelly looks like a rapper or hip hop artist.
Look like you are there for business but you are there for vacation to get away from work but still have business attire.
I just wear shorts and a t-shirt with sneakers. They usually don't even ask any questions but if they do, just answer them in a respectful manner and it is all good. 99 percent of visitors don't have any issues. The stories you hear are a tiny percentage of visitors. I have heard that it was about 50 men for this year versus 10 million visitors which is 0.0005%.
