There's been a major crime crackdown and Medellin has had a lower crime rate than anytime since The days of the Medellin Cartel.

So massive drug rings get busted up now they can focus on the easy money of robbing tourists either directly or through scope scams.

Look at the post directly below the dude said he was robbed a while back and just reported it now.

So for the average traveling monger I would give Medellin a miss and if I had to come to Colombia I'the go to Cartagena which relies on tourists much more heavily and this more secure.

This type of privilege rarely comes easy. So you have to take the great with the bad. It's not hard to avoid the problem.

This story sets up my question. Are there any sources of budget friendly girls after sunset that is relatively safe? Parque Lleras isn't cheap and the girls are gringo hunters. In fact at the current exchange rate, 400 mil for basic service from a Lleras girl is more expensive than the same level of independent girls in Sao Paulo and SP offers much better safety, and arguably a bit better overall quality.[/QUOTE]I saw an obvious tourist get mugged in plain daylight between Hotel Nutibara and Conejitas on the North Side of the plaza. Loads of people around and it seemed I was the only one that even noticed. The whole thing took like 10 seconds.

Common knowledge for the last few years has been avoid Tinder due to scope queens. But I'm rebuilding my FB roster after lots of retirements and it's been harder than I remember. Lots of locked profiles where I can't even see the girl's face. The girls who are not hiding their pics are not that attractive. Is Tinder now a legit avenue for P4P? I've seen some success stories recently for the app.

The Centro strip clubs are decent alternatives within the price range and they are safer than plaza after dark.

I got flooded with matches from pros and non-pros alike.

For the ones I met up with, I have never had any problems with chicas trying to scope or rob me, but YMMV. If you stay at a hotel or apartment where they take / record IDs, keep your valuables in a safe or hidden in your luggage, and don't drink with the ladies, I don't think the risks are high.

Starting prices are about the same as Parque Lleras chicas, although the Tinder chicas seem a bit more willing to negotiate for better prices and more time / services. Unless they look like an Instagram model and have pics on their profile of themselves in front on the Eiffel Tower and on yachts, etc.

You can line them up while on your flight or waiting for a connection. It's makes much more sense than randomly looking in the park.

Lots of guys I meet on the ground are too cheap to pay for 2 week or 1 month subscription. It's worth it.

I had a quick overnight in Medellin and decided I wanted to have some fun. I had 19 hours from arrival to departure. Opened Tinder and started going through the motions. Left and right over and over. I pay for a membership and have mine set so only the women I swipe right on can see me. That works well!

The mutual swipes started coming in semi quickly. Now, I travel to Colombia frequently. I have number in my travel / hobby phone but decided I wanted to spin the wheel and meet someone new. I matched with a girl named Samantha. 31, paisa, works as a nurse, live in Laureles. No kids, lives with her aunt, said no hates drama. Great! She wanted to meet up for dinner and all that. I was not really in the mood for it but decided I world go along with it after talking to her. We picked a spot and met up. She was better looking in person. We sat and talked for a while. Had a couple drinks. Then I asked if she wanted to go somewhere to have fun. Dinner first is a gamble. You always run the risk of hearing about some nonsense emergency, being tired, sick mom / dad / grandma / sister / dog / etc and how they can meet later / tomorrow / next weekend (meaning never) and leave. But I lucked out and she said lets go. We agreed on $400.000 pesos with no real time limit.

She asked what hotel I was staying at. I told her we weren't going to my hotel we were going to a motel and staying in a nice room. She said she did not like the idea of a motel because she is not "that kind of girl" and did not want anyone to think that. Whatever. Ok. I told her it was not negotiable because I can't take her to my hotel. The last thing I want is for my coworkers to see that. I had a couple Colombian's on this trip so they would have known what was up. I told her what motel (Ibiza) and told her I was going to get the room call Mansion. That room is expensive and not really meant for 2 people; its meant for a group. It's $1.200.000 pesos for 6 hours. In my opinion it is well worth it. Amazing sound system for music, 2 giant beds, and a jacuzzi that is meant for a group.

We got there and checked in to the room. Ordered a couple of drinks and put some music on. She was a bit shy at first and said she doesn't do this but needed money for something. Who knows (cares) if that is true or not. But once she got going it was great! She was worth the $400.000 pesos in every way. She was the type of girl that you could take somewhere and no one would know it was P4 P. She dressed nicely, was well spoken, had manners, and was decent to talk to. We relaxed after in the jacuzzi and talked about her life. She was a normal girl. No dramatic story, no BS about someone being sick, no requests for more money. I was waiting for all that because that is typical in Colombia.

We got ready and left. I paid for her taxi and I took an Uber back to Rio Negro where my hotel was. She actually has sent a few messages on WhatsApp over the last couple days just chatting about the day. I told her I would not be back to Medellin for a few weeks but did have some trips to Bogota and Cali and if she wanted to meet up I would cover her tickets to come see me. She said she would come visit depending on her work schedule. She works the typical nurse schedule of rotating 12 hour days. Some would ask why I would take sand to the beach. I don't see it that way. If she can become a regular thing when I'm there then so be it. And she says she has always wanted to try being with a girl. I am happy to help facilitate that dream!

Colombia is fun if you do it right and are safe about it. I prefer it over Brazil!

Just a quick report. I've been coming to Medellin for long periods since 2015 as I'm half Colombian and have family here.

Also I'm looking for fellow mongers who'd want to hit up La Isla Thursday-Saturdays, I find it a bit awkward being there by myself while deciding which chica to go with. I'm 33 American DM me if you want to join me, am here for a month or 2.

Went to La Isla on a Friday night. Lotta really hot girls dressed really sexy, most of them thicker than I like but that's expected. It was as good as I've seen it post-covid but not as good as the pre-covid quantity and quality of women.

Seems 600 COP is honestly the rate for the room here; they're talking 1.5 MIL to take them out the club that might be negotiable but I just grab the whatsapps and coordinate our own prices later in the week.

Was surprised there weren't many customers there, since the COP price is up 50% from 5 years ago it makes sense Colombians frequent it less but I also saw less tourists.

I went to Lleras at 1230 AM to check it out. Mind you it was drizzling rain. But I saw tons of tourists and tons of working girls, but most of them must've been like 20 years old and were average in my opinion; maybe the hotter one's were taken by the time I got there. It's pretty crazy that it legit looks like a red light district, last time I was here 4 years ago it was a family place.
