Leaving Bogota on an international flight last year, AFTER passing through security, I was called at the gate (along with about 5 or 6 other individuals) for undisclosed reasons (maybe the flight attendant said "passport check" I don't remember). I had my carry-on luggage searched, my passport reviewed, had to take my shoes and socks off, and had security ask me a bunch of questions. I can't remember if they looked through my phone or not, I think they were just inspecting the device itself and my laptop, possibly for a bomb?
Might just have been some random check they were doing, since other people got selected at the same time. Maybe it was just revenge bs for what the US was doing to Colombian citizens. It was a bit scary and nerve-wracking, some of us were afraid we were going to miss the flight, since it was while the plane was boarding. Don't think it had anything to do with anything while going through security before that point. This happened to me twice last year, first while boarding a flight from Bogota to Rio de Janeiro, and then again a few months later boarding a flight back to the US.
Happens everywhere. If you did not scan your passport or have already been seen by someone to match your face to your passport they do it at the boarding gate. That's the most common anyway. Perhaps yours was different.
It's standard practice for American Airlines on Colombia. USA routes. They roll out privacy partitions and on I'm not sure what basis call a bunch of names for secondary inspection. It happened to me once. They went through my luggage and checked documents, no big deal.

La 33, la San Juan (avenida 44) and la 80 are all lined with motels on both sides of the street. Take your pick.

I've had this happen to me in MDE and SJO. I make it a habit to be at the gate about 15 m before boarding because that's when they start to announce the "lottery winners" for that flight. That way, if I get picked I can try to be first in line and board the plane relatively quickly.
One doesn't even talk to an immigration officer when leaving now; you just go through the electronic turnstile. What kind of problem did you run into trying to leave that actually had you talk to a customs officer? The electronic machinery rejected you?
No problems recently. I had an officer approach me as I placing my things through the detector. On my last trip I was sent to secondary inspection at FLL even though I have Global Entry.

As is often said in this forum. Do not f'ing pay in dollars. Do not accept quotes in dollars. Pesos pesos pesos.
That out of the way, I met an long time amiga who closed her FB page a long time ago. She says too many dudes messaging her on FB. Probably why the FB game sucks now in Medellin. Her and probably thousand other girls who were once on FB now no longer accepts friend requests, messages, lock profiles etc.
A couple of years ago I went to Lleras at around 12 midnight. The park was packed, but it's just so overpriced for what it offers.
Coming back this year, I wanted to test whether last time it was overpriced because it was too early or because it really is like that all the time. I went at 2 am and nothing really changed. Most of the girls are hanging out on Calle 10, not in the park itself. Standard price for CFS is 400/ HR. By my standards they're not worth that price. I saw a couple of current / former FB girls who have been working on FB for 6-7 years. I saw a girl who I saw at Centro a couple of days ago. They're dressed well, but when I interviewed them, almost all of them are single moms, so there's probably some baby damage hidden underneath those dresses. If you're an MDE vet, your existing roster is almost guaranteed to be better than what you can find there. If you're new, just go with Tinder or something. There's no good reason why an informed and prepared person would go to Lleras. As for BBFS, I had maybe 1 out of 6 who would consider it. The I proposed 400 and the girl wanted more, and she wasn't worth it.

These girls have been conditioned to ask for dollars and set time limits because that is what the gringo demanded.

FYI having Global Entry doesn't reduce your odds of going into secondary.

When you have an hour to get through the airport to connect with a flight of course it is matter of concern. I don't have anything hide and like everyone else after a lengthy trip I want to get home.
The issue that got me detained was the same when I returned to US from Tijuana. It's a glitch in their system. Ok, fine fix it and quit fucking around.
As an American citizen I have the right to come back. They were apologetic at FLL but in Tijuana they were fucking assholes!
