Last week and this week I have visited the Bounty Gents Club on Soi Chiyapoon next to Maggie Mays. It is fairly new (within the past 2 years) and I like it a lot. Sorry for the late response. I was never into GC's during my previous trips, another fellow monger RakSopheni suggested to visit Bada Bing and since then I like that place.

So far experienced places are Bada Bing, Red House, Pirates, Amsterdam, The Factory and Bada Bing & Red House are my top places to go.

Russian gogo bar named Galaxy: This is absolute must visit with beer 300 baht. No bullshit, you can sit as long as you want. They have the real Russian spirit in them, they are polite as hell. I saw some very good nude dance performances, the girls came to me for tips, they were so happy with 50 baht tip that I kept tipping them each a 50 baht. I loved it. They try not to leave the stage, but some girls do let you go upstairs for short time. Prices are high but what to say in front of a beauty. Private lap dance is 1000 baht. Touching is 2000 baht.

There are 3 more Russian clubs that I do not remember the names. I went to all of them but Galaxy has the most girls.

Indian clubs: They are also total rip offs in my view as beer is 250 to 350 baht depending on the club. I went to all of them today. Some might like them as 300 is beer then 1500 baht is girl short time.

Club Fate used to be nicknamed "Club Fat", but there are now some much more petite young ladies there.

For those who are not familiar with Club Fate, it is a late night (open till 4 AM) Gents Club. Fairly recently expanded from it's smaller footprint, it has some of the most comfortable couches and chairs of any of the GCs I frequent. The manager, Dez, is a friendly guy. They have a good pool table surrounded by sharks in tight dresses, so be prepared to lose. The racial policies of XS that you allude to, however, is not due so "the allowed people should not feel awkward" but rather on the account of the behavior pattern of a few individuals who created a cheapness stereotype in the minds of the owners, and the girls. Because nobody has ever found a law forbidding that in Thailand. Nor has anyone been arrested for it in Thailand. Nor has anyone been jailed for it in Thailand. Nor has anyone been punished for it under the law in Thailand.

It's the same old, same old laws against certain [I]prostitution-related behaviors[/I] for which there are several citations and sections written in Plain Language in the Thai Penal Code and Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act of 1996 subject to arrest and punishment and not for consenting adults age 18 or older merely discreetly agreeing to exchange money for sex and then discreetly engaging in that behavior in private, for which there are no laws or citation of a crime subject to arrest or punishment written in Plain Language, Complicated Language or any other language anywhere in any legally enforceable Code or Act in Thailand.

This is nothing more than a show by the Pattaya officials, Historically Beach Road has always been the problem no matter who comes doing the raid is just to elliminate any potential problem. There are 2 topless shifts and one with tops on. Based on my experience, the only Thai lady gogos in Walking Street with fully nude girls (don't know anything about the Russian ones as I have never been in one) are the 2 Windmill clubs (and apparently Electric Blue, which is next to them, althouigh I have not been to this one so cannot confirm).

Harem normally has two topless shifts and one top on shift of about 10-12 girls each.

I'm writing a review about Thailand as part of a summer trip through Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and. Thailand! In the other sections, I'll be writing reviews of the other countries I visited on my punter trip (and not just that, but that's what this section is about).

So, about Pattaya!

First and foremost, it's brilliant because of all the old and new friends.

In Soi 6, half the girls are my type. Unbelievable! It's all about choosing the best of the beautiful ones.

Few turned me down, but that's fine. Sometimes I was the one turning them down because I'the accidentally ended up in bars with too many drinks. I've always found what I was looking for and found beauty at its finest! Performance levels varied, but all were good or very good; only one was lacklustre.

Tip: tell the girls what you like by writing it down in Thai. They all did it. In fact, it seems they prefer to play a role. That way they become more active, and it also seems they enjoy themselves more.

Costs: on average, including unnecessary drinks and requests for two drinks or just over 2 k for her (sometimes), I spent an average of 3 k each time. To be specific, girls usually charge 2 k, room 500 baht. For 1 hour, always genuine, never rushed. I make this clear before agreeing, via a message in Thai. Everything's always nice and pleasant.

The only two minor let-downs: a girl whose contact details a friend had given me came to the hotel. The photos he'the sent me were heavily photoshopped. I didn't like her all that much, but I couldn't send her away without paying her taxi fare because she hadn't sent me the photos herself. A so-so experience. She was certainly polite and helpful, but not quite my type. 1,500 baht plus about 100 baht for a taxi, but I'm not necessarily interested in saving 500 baht if it means compromising on quality (not that I want to throw money away, of course, but 2 k is fine; anything under 3 k is OK).

Second bit of a rip-off: a girl I picked up from a bar (Dragon, if I remember correctly). She was great fun and friendly in the bar, whilst playing a game of pool with two Italian friends. Back at the hotel, she spent almost the whole time on her mobile on the balcony. Obviously we had sex and she was absolutely gorgeous. But she didn't put in any effort absolutely nothing. She didn't move a muscle. Still, she was fun at the bar and gorgeous looking on the bright side. 2 k for her (it was supposed to be 3 k, but we settled for 2 k), 800 barfine, drinks on a friend's tab.

Total rip-offs: none. Everything else was perfect. Or more than perfect.

Nights out with friends: ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! Discovered a new nightclub (The Tube) and a new mobile game useful for picking But above all, loads of fun with various local friends, . And the lovely girls we'the met along the way. Being able to just be ourselves. Thanks, everyone! Up girls (Coco Roulette).

Skyfall closed for refurbishment and is replaced now by Mirage; it's like the sky fell over it. Atmos has been replaced by Aura. I've been to the grand opening, but there was nothing special. They gave me a loyalty card like Starbucks; you get a stamp for each drink, and after 10 drinks, you get a free one. The same for lady drinks. Eden closed for a few days for refurbishment. I guess they are doing this now before the high season starts. Harem asked for 300 baht entry fee; of course I declined when I can enter for free to the equally good XS or Shark next door. The small Harem up front closed. Other bars remain the same.

Outside ground floor is the taxi rank, get a ticket from the ATM like machine that has the parking slot number for your allocated taxi, go to that slot and the driver should be with the car. Again, as Sam says, insist on getting the meter switched on. Some drivers try to give a fixed price including tolls but it never works out cheaper. You have to pay a 50 Baht airport surcharge and the tolls on the expressway (two tolls, 70-80 Baht?

For a taxi from the city, or even around town, download Bolt or Grab and use one of them. It is the same as Uber. I usually use Bolt.

I really don't get why some guys get so het up over a few hundred Baht. The ease and speed of getting a taxi at the airport over a Grab or even an arranged pick-up surely makes up for it.

I use Grab most places but my experience with the Grab pick-up at the airport is the area is usually chaotic with people & cars (unless you are lucky and arrive at a particularly quiet hour), so even if you car is close by it can take considerable time for it to arrive at the pick up point itself and then trying to actually find it in the crowd can be an ordeal in itself. If the App says 10 minutes away, that can quickly turn into 30 minutes or more. I've also seen drivers cancel more frequently too, which puts you back to square one again. Overall I think Grab at the airport can quickly turn into a stress inducing frustration!

Soi 6 is changing for the worst, Nightwish ruined the quiet street where you could have a drink and descrete fun in the early afternoon, now new bars have come in with bright LED screens opening and closing later. As Walking Street looks more like a Bombay street, the old customers are looking at Soi 6 as a replacement so now Buakhao is becoming more popular There is crazy demands for 10 lady drinks before a short time, girls are making large commissions on drinks that they don't go upstairs anymore. And there are bars that have their own livestreams and welcome regular streamers.

Tip is based on service in Thailand or anywhere else in the world. Not because you're supposed to. Private taxi 100 is likely the norm. 200 for exceptional. 0 if they didn't take the toll highway, didn't help with your luggage, drove like an idiot, etc.

Wasn't there a transportation thread? I removed any thoughts of posting a review since it would just be buried in yet another taxi conversation that we have every couple/few months.

Yes we have to pay another 250 but it is an non issue for the guy.

Remember these days standard, after agreeing to pay the 250, the screen will give you a breakdown of the transaction it looks like they are doing you a favor but don't push YES OR AGREE!

Thanks much to all who weighed in. For what it's worth, here is my cash management plan for my winter holiday.

FIRST: Will leave home with about 2,000 baht leftover from my previous trip. A few days in advance I'll get on the AIS web site and buy a travel eSIM that springs to life the second my flight lands at BKK. Super handy, but those SIMS don't include texting or voice calls. Fortunately, there is a lone AIS kiosk after immigration and before customs, close to the baggage carousels. The cheerful girls are happy to "top off" my SIM to allow texting and calling, but they do not accept credit cards. Having a bit of baht in my pocket solves that problem.

SECOND: After clearing customs I'll go downstairs to the money changers next to the airport rail link station. There I'll buy enough baht to pay for: (1) the nice lady from Nam's who drives me to Pattaya; (2) the agent who arranges my condo rental, who accepts cash only; and (3) my necessities and entertainment for 24 hours.

THIRD: For the rest of my holiday, I'll be hitting the Krungsri ATMs as needed and withdrawing 30k baht each time from my Schwab account.

FOURTH: I'll keep a cash reserves in USD squirreled away someplace safe, just in case. Plus a second ATM card linked to a different account.

Looking at the VISA wholesale crossing rate at roughly 1600 UTC on 17 October, I see they're buying my dollars at 34.26. Looking at the SuperRich web site, their booth in Central Mall is paying 33.18. So right this minute, the ATM exchange rate is 3.25% better.

Of course exchange rates are constantly changing. It may be that they move against me during my holiday and I'll regret not changing more money at the start of my trip. Plus it goes without saying that most of us don't spend enough to care about trivial exchange rate differences. Call me a geek, but I enjoy running the numbers.

I enjoy meeting new people who speak English. It often gives me a chance to visit bars I've never been to. It gives me an easy out in an hour. It was mainly a trip to Kinneree and the few GC's on Bongkot 8, organised by someone from Soi 6 who organised a couple of bahtbus's to get around. We should have stayed at Kinneree where all the girls were, the Bongkot clubs would have a few girls in each club but not enough for half the group so we had to spread about. So it's best to travel around solo or with no more than a couple of wingmen.

When I log on from the USA and go to the "Tourist eSIM" page, I land here:

Upcoming trip. Anyone been to Climax Berlin recently? I went on my last trip last year and it was head and shoulders above anywhere else. Sure the prices are high but its a very high end place and the quality of the line up (then) was awesome. Found it hard to leave to explore elsewhere. Will 100% head back but wondered if there were any recent visits by others.
