I have only tried Bogota and Acacias. Bogota was too cold and wet and Acacias was too hot and wet. I'm thinking Bucaramanga might be a nice middle-ground.
What cities have you tried?
It has gotten much more expensive in the big three cities but in the smaller cities it is still cheap living. My rent for a brand new three bedroom apartment is still less than $500. Usd a month. Life is good here if you know how to roll and the chicas can't be beat if you aren't going with full time prostitutes.

The surge in North American sex tourists that started around 2005 did not disrupt the Colombian significantly because the neighborhood in Medellin where it's centered is an outlier in most ways. It's also a tiny slice of the country. The impact is very noticeable in the zone surrounding Provenza and Parque Lleras in the form of loud bars and relentless construction projects. In the rest of the city it is not a thing, nor is it a thing in the rest of the country.
A lot of new apartment buildings and on-going construction in Barranquilla without the tourists or sex tourists of El Poblado.
I'm walking into massive tower blocks where every single floor is dozens of specialists, labs, clinics, you name it. I went to a place over in. San Antonio, I think, which was a tower block just for eye care. Floor after floor of dozens of opthamologists, opticians, labs, etc. I've never seen anything like that in my life.
That is just how things are done in Colombia. In the States, we have a central place (such as a mall) with a variety of businesses so you can go there and get all you need. In Colombia, they have a central place with all of the same type of businesses. One neighborhood of opticians. One neighborhood of hardware stores. One neighborhood of places that make keys. My friends say it is because if you do not like one place then you can just go next door to another. In my American mind, it is ridiculous. If I want to shop for 10 different things, then I have to spend a lot of time going to 10 different neighborhoods, instead of one neighborhood that has everything.
- I've been to 4-5 malls now, and they're packed all hours of the day. I went to Oviedo mall because my doctor is in the tower attached to it and, at midday on a Thursday, the place is overrun with people having lunch, chatting, socializing. A few obvious gringos here and there. But all I saw were wealthier Colombians. Young people, grannies with their old gal-pals, families, professional women and their friends. It was lively, bustling, people spending money. In other places, I notice all the couples holding hands, going to get ice cream, or to have dinner in nice restaurants I was in. Husbands / fathers taking their wives and teenage children out to eat.
Same as the Philippines, it is a mall culture. People go there to walk around, eat, and watch movies. You can count on one hand the number of people who have bought something out of one of the stores.
Totally agree. I take chicas out to great restaurants in el Poblado & Provenza & we eat good, usually steak, sometimes lobster.
That's how I roll. I stay in a luxury airbnb in one of the best buildings in Poblado. Eat out all lunches and dinners in expensive restaurants. Hire the best looking girls from FB and insta and have one or two of them every day. Uber around the city daily. I don't go into casas or clubs or take street girls. In my 16 2 week trips I have never been in Gustos. Only went down to Lleras once at night for 15 minutes just to see it. I can see why they want to clean that shit up.

You'll still need to connect with people and see what works best for you. I usually ask for their WhatsApp number and then continue communicating through the app. In case you disagree with someone on Seeking, they can report you, which is why I prefer to move the conversation to WhatsApp fairly quickly.

But I think its different strokes and preference.
I personally LOVE point and click atmosphere of clubs. I know gustos price point is outrageous but I just collect whatsapps there then negotiate afterwards
Been trying to find other different point and click clubs but seems like its only the 2 in parque lleras.
I even asked bogata board about it but seems like its just a pobaldo lleras thing I guess. La isla is an adjacent but still different to me.

It's the place to go when you need to set up a meet ASAP. I prefer Tinder but have several girls from Seeking that have good profile pics. You have to talk offsite about what you want and how much.

With lot of girls available probably not needed, but just wondering if anyone done that. Was it safe etc.
I told people a gazillion times that seeking girls are not one thing. You have everything from the flat out scammers to the flat out hookers to the GND to beauty queens. It is not the site that matters; it is your ability to screen out the women.
The seeking women get thousands of hits. The dumber ones think that all these men want them when the reality is most men on seeking are themselves scammers trying to get laid for free. Your profile should reflect not that you are going to pay said women but that you have the ability to pay them. In the beginning, women were so awful on line and so much more receptive in person I did not get why, and the reason is there are so many male scammers. Until you break bread or have a drink with someone, you really do not know them that well. So my goal was always to get to that point.
Unlike with a hooker P4P type encounter, my goal was to find someone whose company I enjoyed but also I wanted to bang again and again. That is a huge difference guys do not get here about what sugar daddies are looking for. When I see a hooker, I typically was just looking to get an itch scratched. I rarely have repeated with hookers. It's like one in twenty or one in fifty something like that because most are nothing special. On the flip side, with a sugar baby who had shown she was good in bed, the majority of the time I repeated with them. The goal is a long term arrangement, but often I would meet women that I put in the hooker pile and would bang them and be done with them.
But it is work, and the yields are low. One in ten women I conversed with on line got to a face to face meeting. It was one in two that I would take to bed and then one in two I would repeat with. It is way easier to just bang and pay a hooker.
Thing is because you have been selective and screened right chances are that you are going to be with a much more charming, attractive, and skilled woman than average, and that is going to drive other guys to be jealous right? So do not expect guys to be impressed if you do well; too many are risk averse chicken shits. Their egos cannot handle female rejection. The work in getting the best women is being ripped off, stood up, lied to, and led on and bouncing back as if nothing ever happened. I have to admit that it slowed me down, but the reality is most women are fucking crazy and men care way too much what they think.
I think the other biggest hurdle is men lying to themselves about how much the woman really likes them. With me, the ultimate shit test was planning a vacation with a woman and seeing if they would show up. I knew which women would show up and get through customs and which women would have the excuses. My father is sick was usually #1. If I was 100% right on who would come and who would not, then you would ask, well, why buy the ticket then? I think part of it I was hoping that I was wrong, and being stood up gave me the right to close the door definitively on that person. These were not women whom I had never met. They were women I was banging but I was kind of on the fence with and vice versa.
And the last thing I will say is that sugar relationships are the normal ones today in that they are known to be conditional. Marriages are conditional as well but are being sold as if they are not. Guys were always asking me, "what happens if you quit paying her? Oh wait, you dumb asses out there still believe women in their marriage vows when they say they will be with you for richer or poorer? Really? The average married couple is having sex on average once a year. Women are filing for 80% of their divorces. Meanwhile, women are getting fatter and fatter, and men are staying with them even after they gain 100 lbs. And quit fucking them. But that is okay? That is legitimate? That cracks me up when guys do that. I thought the whole point of going abroad was to put happiness over being legit. The sugar relationship is honest in that it is conditional, but the BF-GF and marriage relationships are the ones that are not honest.

The Wake megaproject is very similar and only steps away from Palermo. It's not clear if there is sufficient demand for either of them. Shadowy investment groups behind them have the classic hallmarks of multipurpose money laundering (narcos, international tax evasion, foreign military and intelligence funds transfer). I personally would be very careful about these kinds of investments. There is a history of projects with one group of insiders and another group for the unsuspecting public with very different terms. The regulatory environment is wobbly. Any knucklehead like me can set up a corporate identity (I. E. "S. A. S. ") in an afternoon to build or buy property for visa purposes or developments like Wake and Palermo. In my opinion it's too easy to throw some money at a random person to be the identity of record for any kind of financial activity. I think this supports the idea that foreign punters are more of a reputation concern for Colombia than a financial concern.

Hell, you want to talk about some of the shit built in the US? Let's start with Vegas, Miami, LA, Chi Town and don't even talk about Atlantic City.
There are buildings throughout the world funded the same way that nary a soul has occupied and or that has ever turned a profit. That's not unique to Palermo, El Poblado or Medellin. Money has always found its way into real estate, whether it came from organized crime, drugs, corrupt politicians, questionable investors or just plain old people trying to hide money. Real estate has always been one of the easiest places in the world to park large amounts of cash and make the money look legitimate.
Difference here is Palermo area has actually been profitable pre and post Parque Lleras Ho Stroll. That's the part people seem to be missing. Whatever you think about the source of the money, the underlying real estate actually worked. The area generated rents, attracted businesses, appreciated in value and became one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in Medellin.
Hell, they were yielding +7% pre hookers with 15% appreciation on assets. You had an asset producing income while simultaneously appreciating at a ridiculous rate. That is the kind of combination real estate owners spend their entire careers trying to find.
So how the developers, actual owners of the buildings, allowed it to get to this point is malpractice. You don't have to pretend the current situation is normal or that the deterioration was inevitable. If you owned an asset producing those kinds of returns and watched the surrounding environment deteriorate to the point where it started damaging the underlying value of the asset, there were obviously management decisions, political decisions and business decisions that could have been made along the way.
And that's really the bigger point. This isn't an argument that every building in the area was somehow financed with clean money or dirty money. It's an argument about what happened to an area that had already proven it could generate serious economic value. Plenty of places around the world have questionable money behind their development and still became extremely profitable. Plenty of others had questionable money behind them and became ghost developments that never generated anything.
Palermo and Parque Lleras are different because the underlying market actually worked. The demand was there, the rents were there, the appreciation was there and the commercial activity was there. The question isn't whether the area could make money. It clearly could. The question is how the people who owned and controlled those assets managed to let one of the most valuable and commercially productive areas in the city get to the point where the reputation and environment became a liability.
As stated, I do this for a living.
