Going back to the topic of the decline of Medellin. I think the wild, drunken days are coming to an end. Change is the only constant, as they say. I honestly don't think it's a bad thing. I saw a post a few days back from a guy saying he speaks zero Spanish and wants to come here and party like he does in Thailand. Like, what the actual fuck is wrong with guys? Just a statistic waiting to happen.

It really is hard for a lot of men to reconcile that Colombia offers easy access to drugs, legal prostitution with plenty of attractive women willing to do something strange for some change; and the reality that there isn't a hookup culture, or that wild, crazy partying is really not the norm; not to mention the fact that there are very dangerous people who will take your property and your life with no remorse.

But, the women are beautiful enough that guys will continue to come here, no matter the cost, or the risk. Even with prices going up, it's still cheaper than where most of us live. I know the naysayers will say "there are plenty of better places to travel to", but that's only partly true. There's no perfect solution. You're just trading one thing for the next. That might be weather, access to certain conveniences, language barriers, quality / quantity / variety of women (not everyone likes Asian women as an example), and logistics. Thailand might be fun, but it takes a whole day to get there.

The only rival in the Americas for quantity of available attractive women is Brazil, but that's basically like flying to Europe. Me, personally, I can get here in 5 hrs from where I live, and only because I need a 2 HR layover in Panama or Santo Domingo (which I love, too). A guy living in Miami or Houston can sneak away to Medellin for a fun weekend, and be back at work on Monday morning like nothing happened. You could do this once a month and it wouldn't cost you more than $1000-$1500 a pop. There's lots of value in that.

Yes a Fri-Sunday trip "could" be justified, especially if your younger and super horned up. Personally, If I am flying to a destination, I need minimum 4 nights and an afternoon flight back. Any less and its hard to justify the cost and travel bullshit your going to have to deal with. Especially with airline ticket prices going through the roof. Round trip at a decent hour to many destinations now over a thousand bucks from northeast USA, and then you got to pay for parking and all the nickel and dimeing that goes with travel. I just got back from Panama, and flew through JFK and my god what a hassle-fuck getting through Manhattan and queens was and then JFK is now doing some pay wall bullshit with security where the standard security now goes through the basement and takes an extra 30-45 minutes just to get people to pay a fee to skip the line and go through normal security.

But yes, the women and cheap party does make up for it. Some really good strip joints, casinos, massage parlors in Northeast and it makes it even harder to justify the weekend getaway when you can stay local and still have a great weekend. I am in NJ, so we got party spots in NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC, and if you really want to travel you could also haul ass to Boston, Montreal, or Pittsburgh.
