Cuban cigar prices and availability
I make yearly trips to Tim's Chop Suey, (TST), Kowloon. Can anyone suggest a shop for the best deal on a box of authentic Cuban cigars? Should I just get them at the airport shop on the way out?
I love sitting outside the clubs at Knutsford Terrace, smoking a Monte Cristo, and drinking Bourbon. But sometimes its hard to walk home. lol
Hey Jambo,
For your consumption in the territory, there are Davidoff stores in both the Peninsula Hotel (TST) and The Landmark Shopping Centre (Central). Wide variety and the cigars are kept in a temperature and humidity controlled room.
HK tobacco taxes are high (yes, I indulge in cancer sticks), and your best value for money is at the duty free shop at the airport. They have a reasonable selection of Cohibas, Romeo and Juliette and a few other brands. I usually get a box of R&C's on the way out. They have both hand and machine rolled.
Cheers,

Maids (domestic workers) on Sundays
I just enjoyed Sunday yesterday. I went to Laguna in Wan Chai at 3:00 based on a preivous experience. Ironically, I found out about Sundays in Wan Chai from fellow member Ramn who I enjoyed beers and dinner with Saturday night. Many thanks Ramn!
I arrived at 3:00. Laguna was somewhat slow as there weren't more that 15 girls there. I grabbed a beer and waited. I am convinced that a majority of the Indonesian and Filipino Domestic Helpers hang out here on Sunday. Around 4:00-5:00 the place was packed with girls and men. I got the idea (personal opinion) that the girls like to party and dance with their friends because they have to report to work for the week at 7:00-8:00 Sunday night.
Case in point.... I met a hot girl at 4:00 who agreed to head back to my hotel in TST. She was all for the date but wanted to prolong her time at Laguna. My guess is she figured if we left Laguna at 5:30, had a short time at my TST hotel at 6:00-7:00ish, she'd be able to shower and head straight to work. Why not prolong the extra time partying with you friends and having fun?
I also found that the DH girls don't make much money so my guess is that they can supplement their income and turn a trick every Sunday (while having fun with their friends) they can make an extra 4000 HK per month.
Definetely check out Laguna on Sunday if you are in town next weekend. I've gone twice in my life and loved it!!!!
