post #7519, on the other hand, was not a joke. by the way, it took me about five minutes to get to the article in the new england journal of medicine. i did a google search with the term "fake viagra." about the fourth or fifth item that popped up was an online report of the singapore story, and the online report acknowledged taking it's information from the february 12, 2009 issue of the new england journal of medicine. i then used a gateway through my place of employment to open the nejm article. seriously, about five minutes to get to that point. unfortunately, the pdf version of the nejm article included an imprint indicating that it was being retrieved from my place of employment. i do not put information about my job or my place of employment on this forum, and so i decided to copy and paste the article contents to the word file that i posted in #7517. the word file in post #7517 is the article verbatim, minus the two tables that i could not copy.

the new england journal of medicine, founded in 1812, is the oldest continuously published medical journal in the world. it is a peer-reviewed journal, meaning that a small panel of experts (usually about three) review each article before the journal agrees to publish it. to avoid personal agendas in the review process, the editors do not tell the reviewers the identity of the authors, and the authors are not told the identities of the reviewers. if an article is accepted, then everybody eventually sees the authors' identities, but reviewers' names are usually not disclosed. the editor has the task of selecting reviewers who are the primary experts in the subject area of each article. this double-blind review process is what makes the contents of journals like this so reliable. in most recent ratings the new england journal of medicine has the highest impact score among the world's clinical medical journals. impact score is a measure of the journal's reputation and perceived accuracy from experts in the profession. the lancet, headquartered in london, is number two and the journal of the american medical association is number three. i think it's inaccurate to say that these journals are garbage.

when i am searching for evidence about something for which i have limited knowledge, i often start with sources like google search and wikipedia. but i then look to see where google items or wikipedia articles get their information, and i go to the original source that i believe is most credible. i knew that nejm had a good reputation, but didn't find out until later that it is the most influential medical journal in the world. until i saw the online article about the singapore story i had been inclined to believe your assertion that there have been no deaths from fake ed pills. similarly, i had not been aware of the studies that showed the proportion of generic ed pills that are fake.

it seems to me that reliable information is helpful, and people can do with it whatever they want. obviously i was not always too fearful to try street pills, but my decision not to buy any more was based on a desire to get legitimate pills, not the fear of dangerous contaminants. the fact that 38% of the generics in the korean study contained no active ingredients suggests that my suspicion that i'd bought fake street pills was well founded. i have continued to buy generics online, because these businesses have names, websites, phone numbers, etc. i know they aren't entirely fly-by-night because they place periodic calls to my cell phone trying to sell me more. i've been dealing with one company for a little more than two years. but i made choices to buy from them in the interest of reliability, not fear. given the study that showed that only 10% of generics were within 10% of prescribed limits for the active ingredients and others that found printer ink, talcum powder, commercial paint, mercury and lead in the generics i am rethinking my generic purchasing strategy. but please notice that my emphasis here is on thinking, not fear.

In Thailand, a lot of times they will call a death something else like cardiac or respiratory instead of drug overdose or being drugged by a bargirl or something so they don't scare the tourists away and also they don't do due diligence. How is the person who died from possibly taking the street vendor's drugs supposed to report it? Do you really expect the PI authorities to do an autopsy in the way a western country most likely will? I'm sure the Manila and Makati are now prepared for flooding after that big monsoon from almost 2 years ago, because they are on top of things. I'm not saying that anyone has died from taking the ED drugs on the street, but to say they are all the same and stuff to me is just being ignorant. Even a generic version isn't exactly the same from my understanding as the original drug.

My experience with Viagra hasn't been good. I tried it but I got a lot of side effects from taking it and moved on to Cialis which works for me, and will last in my body for 3 to 5 days, so that's my choice for now. I have a friend who has lived in Angeles for many years and I wanted to get Cialis off the street. He took me to his and his friends trusted vendor on the street there so I bought a box of their "Cialis". Well I tried 3 times with their pills, and I felt like there was no effect from the pills. I gave up on them and threw them out and got some from a pharmacy and it immediately worked the way I have known it to work. I haven't tried the Viagra on the street because it's not worth it for me given the side effects so I am commenting on my experience with "Cialis" on the street. I have tried the jell, Kamagra which is a form of Viagra bought in Thailand from friend, and it worked for me, giving me the normal headache afterwards.

My take on this is, I think it's probably best if everyone makes up their own mind if they want to take a chance on buying such a thing on the street or not. I think giving warnings is better than saying go for it, don't worry though. You don't know exactly what you got. Your experience is such, that's fine, but it may not be the same for another person. There's no guarantee that even legit stuff won't cause a problem as manufacturers aren't unknown to have tainted stuff. At the same time, I think it's not worth arguing over that it's safe, because you can't guarantee that, and you aren't insuring their dependents. Sure it's a lot cheaper, but what is one's life worth if they get some real bad stuff? Would it have been worth it then to just pay for the real stuff then at a higher price? That's how I came to my decision after taking the bs Cialis off the street vendor who came highly recommended from many expats living in Angeles. They may be taking Viagra pills from them that work for them and not the Cialis. I know that it didn't work for me. In then end, what's it worth to you? I ended up deciding to just get my doctor to give me a prescription and bring my own now. I don't see the cheaper price on the street as being worth it for me to try it again.

In my case my doctor prescribed Levitra, specifically because viagra and cialis interact with some other meds I take. I have been known to ignore his advice and purchase generic cialis, with both good results and none at all. I only need half a 20 mg tab of Levitra, and its effects kick in within about 30 minutes and last about six hours. The other nice thing about Levitra is that it has no adverse interaction with alcohol or greasy food. But whatever puts wood in your driver.

I sent a question to Jackson and he replied,"send me the link." I want to be able to add words in the report associated with the url, as you did here, so Jackson's offer to post for me doesn't help.
