Its in the middle of nowhere!
Theres nothing to do!
Its all about the Jacuzzi!
No offense Escort King, as far as mongers go I am a pimple between your toes. I like the place. It can get a little boring,a kings ransom to get out and see the sites. For the price I will go back at least 1 more time.
Also want to do a birthday party next year in the penhouse with 5 chicas, Aug my big 5-0.
BBs is a great spot for newbies even though it is stuck in the middle of nowhere.
There is generally a decent range of chicas at set prices and they allow you to bring in girls so long as they have ID.
This place sucks.
It's the mantra my friends and I use about BBs - we are being very tongue in cheek.
And it happens to be a very accurate description. It is a quarter mile south of that famous town in Egypt!
Does anyone have an idea of how far BBs is from classico? Staying at BBs in February for my birthday but would love to make it to this club.

"Barbie" is still there. As I wrote, she was the only halfway decent girl there for about 8 hours on a Saturday. And you have to like black girls to, ahem, appreciate her appeal.
Luckily I do.
Well I've survived another trip to the DR. And I say survived because I can't ever get any rest with all the hoe poppin' and drinking going on. Any way I just wanted to add my 400. 00 dolars worth to the PP thread and I promise to keep it strictly informative. Anyway I arrived at Santiago airport late with Peace1 from JFK. Blasted plane was stuck at JFK on the tarmak for an hour and a holding pattern in the air in santiago. The car ride was scenic and slightly bearable because we stopped for beers and to change money. Now here comes the disclaimer: I DO NOT LIKE TO STAY AT BB BUT PEACE1 COAXED ME INTO STAYING THERE FOR 2 DAYS! Anyway when we got there I saw all of the old faces and got a true joy at some of the new faces. Anyway I hooked up with Glenny because my past history of sticking her is that she's very, very athletic. After the event was over I went downstairs again and saw "THE SIGN". For those unfamiliar it's the sign that says no outside food or drink at the bar or restaraunt. Add this to the list of reasons I will not be back at BB. Next they'll take the refrigerators out of the rooms. Wait and see. They won't even give you setups ie: shot glasses, forks, knifes etc. Anyway here the reason I really don't like BB. The prices for food and drinks. I always bring my own brand of tequila, rum and vodka. They simply don't carry my brands. Drinks are over priced and the food is too. And the level or service is crazy slow. Shit waiting for breakfast the next morning took 20minutes and they still got the shit wrong. I think the cooks must wait until they get 3 or 4 orders and then cook everything. Seems that way. They did have some new talent there but they only showed up after 5 or 6pm. If you want coochie in the morning you'll have to snatch one of those see rated tricks. Be advised YOU WILL NOT FIND ANY "A" RATED CHICAS IN BB! You heard it here. Anyway my advise is that if your new to the DR then BB is the place for you. Also stay in BB everytime you come and don't ever go to Sosua. Ignorance is Bliss in this respect because once you go to Sosua and see the talent and the overall prices and the level of service you'll be angry or feel violated because you went to BB.
When me and Peace1 left and went to Sosua we stayed in Europa and the real fun started crazy girls and I lost count of the drinks. The chica quality and quantity has gone up considerably. I also have a news alert. For some reason there are a lot of Haitian females in Classico. Shit Friday night I thought the whole lower level of the club was 80% haitian. I saw some of the phatest asses and some straight stalions in Classico Dominican and Haitian. Any way I just wanted to add one more thing. I stayed in BB and spent more money in two nights there than three nights in Sosua and did considerably less in BB.

Oh one more thing I like to add that really made me say this'll be the last time for me at BB is that the wireless internet service is damn near nonexistent. You can't get it in the rooms and I stayed in the main building. Can't get it at the bar either. One of the chicas said you can get it in the restaraunt area. but I was so pissed I said fuck it. It's a shame when I first went to the DR I fell in love with the place now it just seems as if they have that Disney Corp. mentality (Make everthing exclusive, Squeeze every cent out of the customer).
I agree with you that staying at the Europa in Sosua is better than staying at Blackbeard's, and I agree with some of the points you make.
However, I still think Blackbeard's is a good place to stay if you are new to the DR and traveling alone for a number of reasons:
1. Girls come to you, so you can meet then without running around town, taking taxis etc.
2. You can get all your meals and drinks in one place and since you can charge it to the room, you don't have to worry about dealing with pesos except with the chicas.
3. The environment and layout at Blackbeard's makes it easy to meet other guys like yourself. In fact it is impossible to avoid. The Europa is not so clubby.
4. Most of the rooms at Blackbeards are pretty decent.
5. Blackbeards will meet you at the airport and arrange transportation back there (at a fee, of course).
6. The chicas at Blackbeards are approved by management, and while this does not give you total immunity from difficult chicas, girls who are persistently problematic are excluded. People at Blackbeards will interpret for you if necessary.
7. The restaurant is not particularly cheap, but neither is it particularly expensive. I think the restaurant at the Europa is possibly more expensive, though also better under the current management. In Sosua there are other cheaper places to eat, but the better restaurants are not especially cheap. My favorites in Sosua are the Europa restaurant (Don Quixote's), Schnitzel Paradise, P.J.s and Morua Mai. Rocky's has good food, but the service is dreadfully slow and the ambience is pretty poor. The stand across the road from the Europa makes a pretty mean hamburger, and you can also get chicken and rice from various barbecue stands if you are on a tight budget.
Where do you recommend eating in Sosua?
In my opinion the worst thing about Blackbeard's is the music in the bar. They should shut it off.
However some of your criticisms of Blackbeard's seem a bit ungenerous. I wonder if you were turning down drinks in Sosua because they did not have your favorite brand of vodka (basically a flavorless alcoholic spirit that is usually mixed with something), or if the bars in Sosua were allowing you to bring your own bottle because of your need to drink certain brands which may not have been available.
I think that if I was a bar owner, I would see someone who insisted on bringing their own spirits as someone who was trying to enjoy the facilities, ambience etc. of the bar without paying their full whack.
Also, if you want an early morning chica at Blackbeard's, your best bet is to schedule them ahead of time the previous day. Most chicas, both at BB and in Sosua tend to sleep in late, and although I have gotten laid in the morning in Sosua now and again, it is usually by prearrangement with one of my favoritas.

I agree with all of the above. BB (LIKE ANY OTHER HOTEL) doesn't allow you to "brown bag it" in their restaurant/bar, but no problem if you consume in your room. I have had no problem getting a glass of ice to bring up to the room, or to simply buy a drink and use the glass to refill upstairs if choose.
If you are discreet, don't make it obvious and use common sense, there's no problem.
The prices at the hotel are comparable to any other. Don't expect any place to charge you Dominican diner prices.
(I do agree though, that damn cook is slow and everybody who does patronize the place should comment on this to the management).
I have seen a few types actually carry a box of pizza up to their room
(I suppose they were even too cheap to eat it at the restaurant).
Like the teenagers would say: "how ghetto!"
(Damn, bud, if money's that tight, save up a few more weeks before you come down, so you can eat with the grownups
(or just stay in the room eating Cup O Soup!)
Every place has its pluses and minuses. I've been to Sosua as well, and you could come up with some complaints about that place, too.
Disclaimer: This is not a flame war starter just a clarification or rebuttal at worst.
When you see someone going outside to get a pizza or any other food item it's mostly because there tired of eating the food they have in BB. Not because their cheap. Hell the pizza, depending on the toppings, might cost as much as the dinner without drinks at BB. Also they get tired of waiting for their food. Someone please explain to me why can a person walk about a block and a half to the italian restaurant and order a pizza, walk back to BB, and sit down to eat and another monger won't even have his order cooked yet at the BB restaraunt. Gaurantee you that the individual that you saw walk up to his room to eat the pizza had two things in mind when he went into his room. One I want privacy when I eat (the chicas will bug you for a slice) two he was already warned about eating in the restaraunt. Be advised that nobody's cheap by wanting not to get taken to the cleaners. Just like nobody's a yellowpotbelly that's scared of their shadow for not wanting to sample what sosua has to offer. Using the rationale that Y69 has he would be okay if the chicas in BB charged 2000 for short time when the chicas in sosua were charging 1200. You would feel taken advantage of. If your ever in need to drink something different than the norm some place american owned in sosua will have it. The restaraunt in Europa has excellent choices and then there's always the shark bar down the street. The prices for a bottle of beer there and many of the other bars in sosua will make you think twice about spending your money in BB. Oh by the way these other places don't allow you to bring outside alcohol into their establishments. But it's different than BB in the respect that theres nowhere esle to move in BB. Rooms, bar, and restaurant are only a few feet from each other. Where as the bars and restaraunts are futher away in Sosua. At any bar that doesn't serve food they will allow you to bring food in and drink their products, vice versa. Last thing, Y69 let me help you with your definitions, "being ghetto" is when you act in a way that is shameless, dirty or ignorant to your surroundings ie: cursing in a public setting, digging in your rear end in public, walking around with your shirt off at the pool making everyone turn green from disgust. That was not an example of the term. Your disclosing your age and knowledge level with that quote.
In regard to the never ending debate concerning Black Beards vs. Sosua, I feel that it is a no win situation. There are people that love Black Beards because it is a clean laid back establishment that is very relaxing and you can have a lot of fun. It is true that it is a bit isolated, and probablt that is why the prices are higher than other places in the DR. There are also people that love Sosua because it is a party town, there is always something to do, and the prices are a bit lower due to competition.
Personally, I love both places equally. I like to relax at Black Beards and party in Sosua. Women at BB's will try to act like they are your wife and wat to be with you aour whole trip. The food does take a long time at BB's. But I'm o.k. with that. Sosua has too many people trying to scam you and the women are very aggressive. But I'm also o.k. wih that.

Ouch!
Thanks for the tip on "ghetto". Your definitions are very good.
(My source (my 20+ yr old daughter) also uses it to mean low-class, low-rent, etc).
Wasn't trying to insult anybody, but clearly our respective experiences at BB have been very different. I often bring my own liquor, buy one drink to get a glass, and get free ice when I ask for it. I refill up in my room and then continue to drink downstairs.
As Supertigre said, the prices are indeed comparable.
I agree that the cook is so slow, he must be on drugs.
Each to his own tastes!
Good luck!
You can get ST at BBs for 1300-1600 and TLN for 2000-2600 - those prices are close to Sousa prices unless you have great Spanish and want to haggle and turn away some chiacs... the extra $10 is not worth the effort - though to some the game is worth it so that is there call.
