"Game" ain't required, green folded paper in your pocket is
Mate-I appreciate that you might be shy or lack confidence, but don't confuse this site with a dating site. As much as I and most other posters on the forum might think I have the charm, body and looks of Chris Hemsworth, it's the money in your pocket that these girls are interested in, so your lack of so-called "game" is irrelevant if you have the right amount of money to pay the right girl for whatever it is you are looking for.
Don't confuse dating with banging. Read the forum, take a deep breath, order a strong drink if that helps you and enter one of the 100 hostess bars and see if you can find yourself a good time, but expect to pay. Unless you are the ugly Hemsworth brother??
Have fun and be sure to post your outcomes.
I am wondering if there is any recommendation as to a good nightclub type place for a shy guy with no game to go for a night out, have drinks, listen to music, meet a variety of women. Something like some of the clubs in Bangkok where lots of women will often come up to you and start talking to you, on their own initiative, so it is easy to mingle and meet people even if you have stage fright.
My review of a few places.
Darlin darlin. Gorgeous women. Music way too loud, difficult to talk and feels like a rock concert. Difficult to meet women as the place is crowded and they seem to segregate either near one of the entrances or along one of the bars, standing alone and chatting with their friends, rather than making themselves available and easy to talk to, partying, etc.
Would have to walk around conspicuously staring at people to try to find someone you like. The girls often ask for money just to sit down with you which tends to ruin the romance. It seems the MO of the wealthy Chinese and Koreans who go there is, reserve a table and somehow meet a few girls. Pay them money to sit with you and have them introduce you to their friends. Over the course of several days you get to know the place pretty well. Lots of guys walk in there and seem to know everyone already, including the staff, security, etc. Many women seem reluctant to sit down with a guy who is not Chinese / Korean due to being concerned that the guy may not be rich enough, non-Chinese / Korean seem to lack some initial credibility, which also makes it not an optimal place to just wander in on some particular evening, unless you have both cash and game, then could be OK.
Pontoon. Certainly has nice music and cool atmosphere, but doesn't seem to be a good way to mingle and meet a number of different women to find someone you like. It seems one way to meet people is to sit at the rounded rectangle-shaped big bar and have some drinks, look around and see if you can make eye contact. This would be OK for someone who has game and can walk up to them and start chatting, which I could work up the courage to do, but the problem is the probability that I will wind up liking a particular woman is kind of low based just on first sight and there are usually just 1-2 potential people to meet anyway. So even if I muster up the courage to talk to them, most of the time wouldn't work out anyway. I see also people sitting in the VIP chairs, sometimes just a few women together. Are these wealthy local women? It seems they sit there for long periods of time and only occasionally are approached by guys. Sometimes guys also sit in the VIP sofas alone for quite some time, I don't see women coming up to them to sit with them and meet. All the people on the dance floor, men and women dancing together, I have not seen how exactly it is that they are meeting each other.
Heart of Darkness, I like the atmosphere, decor, lighting, etc. Music again at a reasonable level. As people say there appear to be a lot of gay men there, but also plenty of women so its fine. I have not been to the second floor so I am not sure what it is like there. On the first floor, it is possible to get a seat and drink while listening to the music. There seem to be two main places: the dance floor, where individuals without game are not going to succeed in meeting women, and then the seats nearby the dance floor. One can sit at one of those tables near the dance floor / across from the bar, but again, women do not come up to guys sitting there (or is it just me?) There are also not a lot of women in that area, occasionally one or two may be sitting alone, but they do not make any effort to be approachable, much less talk to a guy on their own initiative. They seem to know what they are doing already, either maybe they are not looking to meet guys, or already are with someone, in any event not giving off a very approachable vibe.
Any advice on where might be a good place to go? I guess basically, are there places where the women will make efforts to meet guys and make things easy for guys who are shy / gameless?
Hotel Recommendation for Street 136.
Hello.
Right now I am in Pattaya and planning to go to Cambodia for a week and back to Pattaya. I need the help regarding hotel to stay and enjoy with girlfriends. As I read the thread there are several places and streets for action in Phenom Penh. Which is the best place to stay like Pattaya beach road? Easy to get the girls and no hassle? I would really appreciate the response from seniors and Phenom Penh experienced one and all. Thanks.
I often recommend the Lux Riverside Hotel. It is at ground zero for sanuk (bars along Street 136 and only a block of so from many other bars). Couldn't be more convenient unless there was a bar in the lobby. Rates from about $45 and up. Several different options for a room. Can book using the hotel website or through the popular online booking agencies. I'm booked there for the 5th time next month--for 3 weeks.
The info provided by other board members is all correct.
After doing the BKK and Pats scene for over 40 years, PP has become my new playground for a lot of reasons. I hope you enjoy the difference--and it IS different. (Well, "same, same but different).
