Are there many bars discussed on this forum that will be affected by this rule?
There is a University at the end of Soi 23, but I think it is at least 500 m away (or even more) from Soi Cowboy.
Nana and the whole of lower Sukhumvit, including the side-sois, seem OK as well.
Or they close existing schools that are within 300 mtr of a pub!
And then the schools will be asked to contribute to the local policemen's pension fund. 55555.
Better hurry guys!

Why? Because it has been falling (pretty simple analysis). And the Baht will keep falling until it stops falling (once again pretty simplistic logic). Currencies typically trade in a tight range or trade in a upward or downward trend. Now, the Baht is in a slow downward trend against the US dollar.

Why didn't I think of that?

I'm an Asian-American male, Korean to be specific. Will I have any issues in Thailand? I ask this because it seems that most of the clientele is white.
I'm an Asian-American male, Korean to be specific. Will I have any issues in Thailand? White guys are No. 2. You should be fine.
I'm an Asian-American male, Korean to be specific. Will I have any issues in Thailand? If you're presentable and well-behaved, you might find yourself more popular with the girls than most white mongers. Less discrimination as well (no Farang surcharge in Rachada massage parlors).
Overall in Thailand it is NOT true that most of the clientele is white. Each group has their preferred venues, although most venues welcome everyone (with minor exceptions, like Soi Thaniya clubs catering to Japanese only).
Naturally, most clients are Thai (by far), but there are plenty of other Asians, predominantly (but not only) Japanese. East Asians generally venues like soapy massage parlors, the Thermae. While whites prefer agogo / beer bars.
Thai girls love Japanese and Koreans.
Yes, the girls love Japanese and Koreans. But Nick is Asian-American so unless he's able to hide that fact (by speaking Korean and pretending not to speak English very well) he will be treated as a farang I think. So some girls will love him a little bit less.
Nevertheless you can have a good time Nick, that should not be a problem.
I'm an Asian-American male, Korean to be specific. Will I have any issues in Thailand? I ask this because it seems that most of the clientele is white.
I agree with Nick. I think Asian_american should be very popular. You will be favored and I have to put up with being lower down the priority order. Of course girls won't like it if you want to pay less than the real Koreans. I believe that Koreans could well be the most popular of all Asians. Coming from the US and Korean influence, it will be expected that you have very good manners, and Thai girls definitely like males with classy well mannered behavior.
In addition, at many Soapies you will not incur the Farang surcharge I believe so you get the girl cheaper than I do in those Soapy Massage places. It is possible that American accent could spoil chance of escaping the surcharge, I am not totally sure. T1234 could certainly clear up that issue, even if he does not have an American accent, I believe he would know.
I think Crocodile exaggerates a little. Asian customers may prefer Soapies (more so than Farangs) but there are still heaps of East Asians in the Oilies and bars.

Easy to walk cross footbridge over the Khlong. Is that a problem? Alcoholic drinks are available inside naturally, as well as other illicit activities.
By normal roads in a taxi, it would be more than 300 metres. However by walking less than 300 metres.
