Very easy:

You open the person's public profile and then click on "add XXX to your ignore list" (see picture attached)

Now, unfortunately, these people will not completely vanish... you will still see that they have posted a report but the content will be hidden. You will have the choice to read the post anyway (should you wish to).

Also, if someone quotes a post from a guy on your ignore list, you will see it.

If you go all the way down Soi Rangnam away from the BTS, and you cross straight over Ratchaprop, you'll walk straight into a little alley leading to a shorttime (curtains) motel. Look to your left over your shoulder, and you'll see "The Best Pub". Looks like a well-established dive, dingy, red-padded walls, manned by three old guys (the youngest was 61, and speaks good English). There were about 20 ladies sitting lined up. Not the freshest, but not the worst I've seen. Prices should be about 1000-1500, but he insisted on pricing the ladies individually. They're open from 8pm to 6am. When I commented that this doesn't give him much time to see the sun, the old guy answered "Nevermind! Easy! I night people. Thirty year."

Hmmm. Your story confuses me a little.
Firstly you are crazy IMHO to think that all girls are worth the same amount. Some are not so desperate as to go for standard rates.

2nd, shower alone, lights out, cash up front etc. seems suspicious. My immediate thought was ladyboy but there are other possibilities.

Suppose someone said to you, 'IMHO you're an arrogant jerk'. Wouldn't sound so good, would it?

My point was the vaguely relevant and barely interesting one that sometimes if you kick a girl out, you may occasionally regret it afterwards. That's it.

Because it was only a slight anecdote I didn't elaborate too much, and I don't think my post requires Derridaist literary deconstruction. So obviously I don't think all girls are worth the same amount. By standard amount I meant my (rather generous) offer that corresponded with what I had being paying for other attractive girls that week. Because we hadn't discussed price of course she wanted more than I offered, but actually rather than negotiating in a pleasant way she just pulled a sour face before eventually accepting my offer. Don't forget she was planning to head off to OT and be there for regular office hours in any case.

She wasn't a ladyboy. Stupid thing to say, because (a) although some ladyboys can be mistaken for girls, not all girls can be mistaken for ladyboys. She was small and petite, and if you saw her you would agree with my judgement; (b) we got far enough into the session for me to physically confirm that she was female; (c) I picked her up in Ipanema Bar where the staff check IDs and no ladyboys are allowed; (d) I should have said lights dimmed rather than out. I prefer lights on, but I remember she wanted the main lights off. Hardly uncommon, but just an extra annoyance; (e) 3 out of 4 girls in Singapore this trip have asked for cash up-front (and I have refused each time). These were the non-Thai girls, so perhaps different cultures / countries have different SOPs? Again, not a big deal, but it turned into an argument which spoiled the moment so I politely suggested that it wasn't going to work out and she should leave.

This is the second post of mine in recent days where you have tried to extract some tiny grain of controversy and worry it to death. What's your problem?

I'm sorry you feel so insulted. I wasn't trying to imply anything like what you thought. "IMHO" is meant to imply that I understand its only my opinion and not necessarily that which others agree with. I respect that others have their opinion to only pay standard rates, but I have a different opinion and am willing to pay more for best girls.
Personally I don't see how every girl is worth exactly the same, just like hiring different cars cost different amounts. I have paid by a combination of quality, duration and performance.

I accept that she wasn't a LB. It was just a sudden reaction to your described suspicious behavior, and I may well be an overly suspicious type. But there is a good chance something was amiss, and you may have been lucky to have missed out this time.

Please lighten up now and I'll try to be less patronising. I don't really intend to stir up controversy so I should have been quiet about reactions to apparent strange behaviour.

Seems O.K. to assume ST unless otherwise agreed, to me.
There are plenty of girls around who are not doing LT or even MT (medium time) unless start early and pay a lot.
Anyway, in the end the price negotiation failed.
I'm in the Wendella camp on this one, as if you didn't guess already!
My attitude is if I wanted LT and she only is willing to go ST, just accept, get on with it and try to enjoy. Can always get another girl later if not satisfied.

i'm in my early forties and can speak some thai, so that might help, but it's not very difficult to get those (and even lower in some cases) prices in bangkok (at least with freelancers). and i am usually not disappointed about the performance and services provided at these rates in the capital city. of course, i'm very picky when i'm selecting a girl, and the most important criteria then for me is the girl's attitude and not her beauty (even if that counts too). it's usually very easy to know with freelancers if there will be a good chemistry or not later in the sack and this has very little to do with the amount of money exchanged (providing that each party agrees on the sum and of the services offered for the said amount beforehand). according to my own experiences, 1000 baht st is still considered (by many freelancers) a decent enough offer in bangkok. at least, yours truly has no difficulties at all to get laid there for this amount! some of you guys can call me “cheap charlie” if you wish, but usually, all these girls are willing to come with me again when i meet them another day and they are not of the desperate kind!

The problem is that your idea of the "appropriate thread" for such discussions is in the "Thai Expat's Forum," but the Kid is a newbie to the Thai board. You are suggesting that he post a newbie report in the Expat's Forum, which IMHO, is unreasonable.

If the Pro were serious about his complaint, he might better have reported it directly to the moderator instead of being a sarcastic asshole and posting his rant on the forum.

We need newbies on this board. Without them the content gets stale. The Pro and a few others do everything they can to chase newbies away with their stupid remarks and unsubstantiated complaints.

The Kid's "tourist meets Thai girl" situation presents a typical newbie problem which is informative, entertaining and appropriate in the "Bangkok Reports."
