Face is important to them.

A location picture is the most simple way to find the place for guys who are not familiar with Chinese and pinyin. Just load the picture to the phone, show it to the taxi driver, finished! I think the only problem is, that this forum software don`t support Chinese signs (Chinese signs will be automatically "transcribed" to Unicode in every posting).

For example the adress: "Nan Jing Xi Lu" written in Chinese signs will come out like that: &21335; &20140; &35199; &36335;

But for people who don`t speak english, it`s necessary to show the adress in Chinese to a taxi driver, because he will not be able to read pinyin adress and also not be able to understand the pronunciation of a guy who don`t speak Chinese (at least most time communication will fail).

So from my view there is not really a good way to solve the problem now:

- Go to a webpage, where you can transcribe the code back to Chinese signs.

- Write pinyin here in the forum and everyone, who need the adress has to find someone who can write it down in Chinese (that`s how it is done here most time).

- Attach pictures with the adress. Which is not allowed, but I really have no idea why the administration here has a problem with location cards.

I think there must be a reason for that rule, but I really don`t understand it at the moment. From my view it solves a lot of problems for "newbies" in China and Shanghai, and I have no idea yet, where should be the dissadvantage of a picture with the Chinese adress inside, at least as long as the forum is not able to show Chinese signs directly.

That's the best case. If any of the above steps goes wrong you'll have written off an afternoon for no purpose. My conclusion was that saunas like Bodi are a more reliable option at similar cost. If you want the budget option you're better off at a BBS where you can see what you're going to get and there are no illusions.
