As a frequent visitor to Caesars i have never come across a PRC girl, not to say that there is not any, but i aint seen one, and normally you can tell the difference based on accent.

Most PRC are employed by the chinese mafia, generally outside of Taipei.

Caesars along with the other Saunas mentioned in here, do occasionally get visits from the local boys in blue, and the use of PRC who are unlikely to have correct visas would see them in big problems. No need when so many locals are happy to join.

I have lurked on this forum for a long time and gathered much useful information so I am going to post about my experiences in Taipei. Much of what I have to say has been said before but it will confirm the opinions of the more seasoned posters here.

The first time I visited Tpe was 2002. I read this forum and decided to visit the Wen Hua sauna on Nan Jing Rd. I went quite a few times and every time had a good experience. You can relax, they don't hassle you, if you choose the special massage the girl will be young, attractive and skillful. All in all a great experince.

Subsequently I have returnned to Tpe 3 times. Sometimes I go to Wen Hua sometimes to Ceasars on 15 floor Asia World. Cearars is a very similar procedure. Again my experinces have all been good.

When I first came here you had to speak Chinese in the saunas but now quite a few of the staff speak English (but not the girls).

Once I tried one of the barber shops in the Main station district. Here the girls are a bit older (well some quite a lot older). You go in, ask the price (1500nts for a hand job) and the girl massages you. Another girl comes over and asks if you want two girls. If you say no she will go away, come back after a while and ask again. I felt a bit hassled by the whole thing. The experince was OK but quite honestly I future I will save my money and go to one of the saunas I mentioned above, it is a far more relaxing experince.

The only other thing I have to report is that in the China Times there are loads of adds (in Chinese) for saunas. Unfortunately the writing was too small to read without a magnifying glass but I will look again soon.

The first 20min is a good legit massage. Then the “sexy” massage starts, also very good.

I have walked close Snake valley and have seen a lot of street walkers. They proposed 'vodka' or 'wine' or 'tea'. Price is cheap, less than 1000 NT$ but woman are very ugly. Only for desperados.

This report comes from a friend of mine. He is a native Taiwanese who was recently in Taipei. I don't have complete details, but will take him out for a beer later and get more details (price, services).

Dar425 - in the area just to the north of the station there are many narrow lanes between the main streets. This area has clothes markets, hardware shops and many cheap hotels all of which quote a rate to 'rest' (xiu1xi2) for 2 hours. It is quite an interesting area. It is friendly, I have walked there many times but you will need to speak Chinese. And some of the places they prefer Taiwanese.

I hadn't really noticed the tea shops but next time I visit I will look more closely. If your friend could give names of shops or the road that would be helpful. Looks like it will be heavy rain here all day today so it won't be today.

Thanks for the tip, sounds like an intersting piece of research to do. If I don't get lucky at least I can drink some good tea and find some local delicacies to eat.
