Asia is a continent with 48 countries. Each country has different rules for different things. Saudi Arabia doesn't have the same rules as Singapore. Turkey doesn't have the same rules as Thailand. Japan and Jordan? Yep different rules.

I'm guessing, out of those 48 countries, it didn't happen in Thailand.

Has Grand President Hotel (Opposite to Aira Hotel) gone out of business or changed name? I could never find the hotel under any booking portal. Help please.

I have read in this forum that Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel is primarily a short term place for folks from Thermae and Soi Cowboy. But how is this hotel for longer stay like 3 nights? Are the rooms clean and safe? Is it recommended for long term stay?

Is it recommended for long term stay?[/QUOTE]Only the lower floors in the Ruamchitt are shorttime rented. 5th,6th and 7th floor have clean, spacious, light rooms, nothing fancy, but not expensive either. And you don't have to worry about safety.

Pool is pretty good too. Stayed there several times the last couple of months and will return.

So it's always amusing when I'm paying for one of the short-time rooms at the check-in desk, hooker from Thermae in tow, alongside a family with small kids also checking in at the same time. That's one way to teach them about the birds and the bees. On Friday & Saturday night that place probably has the highest working girl density in Bangkok.

But yeah as someone else mentioned, only one or two floors of the hotel are dedicated to short-time rooms. And as far as I've ever seen, there are no actual hotel guests on that floor. It's just short-time rooms.

It's just short-time rooms.[/QUOTE]This kinda thing happens in Kula Lumpur as well, and I'm sure many other south East Asian cities, certain hotels that have a few floors geared towards short time guests who wish to fuck the chicks that's in that hotels massage joint, or in the case of Ruamchitt, the pick up bar.

I'll be landing in BKK this Sunday arvo and yet to book a hotel for 4 nights. I've been seeing across some socials that there are various hotels and condos with major structural damage. I'm sure that Thai authorities are trying to keep a lid on socials spreading this stuff around, but some of it is getting out.

Anyways, I'm looking for something that's near Nana / Thermae area and not high-rise. Thinking maybe 5-7 floors tall tops.

Ruamchitt is a bit too low end for my taste, anything nearby (obv guest friendly) in a 4 star that is recommended.

It's all a guess until you walk into the place anyways, anywhere could have damage, it's probably cosmetically covered up by now.

In the past the day shift was all over ID's for guests.

In the two weeks nobody looked twice at my guests.

Even went back to room with two girls and then the next night three. No probs.

Loving this place even more, like staying at the JW M but heaps cheaper.

My only regret is that the breakfast buffet which they had before covid has never returned. Even if it's only a limited spread (like Mecure on Soi 11) it's still far better than the set menu they currently offer.

How close to nana plaza is it?

Planning to visit Bangkok 2 weeks from.

Now. But thinking of deferring by a month or so due to the corona outbreak. Any advice?

If You have the latest vaccination, you should be ok. And should you get it it will most likely be mild.
