Arrived Cartegena At day break. Strolled through clock tower around 5:30 pm. Sun still shining bright so NO chicas. Was one hottie at one of the local bars but was wi Th another gringo.
Back to apt. Nap. Wake up 1:00 am back to same spot. Many chicas. Dozens. Strolled over to Dolce Vita at 3:30 and action wad weak. One skinny Colombian girl dancing and giving eyes but not approaching. This bar closes at 4 am and strip bar down street was closed at 3:40 am.
Disappointing. Walked back over to clock tower and wad approached by a magnificent Colombian girl. 26 why / o and one of those rare cases where she made me hard by just flirting / fucking with me on the street.
Asked for 300 k. I offered 200 k and off we went. Super sweet and cordial. Had drinks at my place, didn't feel rushed. Oral no condom (which I never do but she was fantastic) and passionate felt normal sex for over an hour.
Tipped 50 k due to her being amazing. Looking forward to checking out the scene around the hotels / casinos tonight.
Any tips? Also- where does one go during the day? Any massage in Cartagena? Having trouble during day.
Thanks in advance. Also have girl spoke about above contact for members if you ask next few days before I cannot check boards.
Cheers.
I strolled the Clock Tower area on Friday 4/20 as well, but during the hours of 11:30 pm to 2:00 am (pretty close to "peak hours" for hunting) I'd estimate that I laid eyes on well over 100 different chicas looking to "work". Agree that LDV selection was weak during same time frame. At 2 am Elektra was hopping, at 3:30 am they were having to bar people from entry until others walked out, as the pass was over-capacity. Lots chicas, but also lost of dudes. So many people jammed up against one another = sardine effect.
Earlier that afternoon there were various chicas in Playa Hollywood looking to "work". Also saw chicas looking to work while strolling the sidewalks of Laguito and Bocagrande.
Daytime = Playa Hollywood, local connections, strolling Laguito and Bocagrande leading into dusk and dusk, contacting chicas various from web pages on Whatsapp, contacting the chica from last night on Whatsapp to inquire about "any" amigas or a repeat, etc.
I noticed a lot on this board are dissuading others from going to clubs like pleyclub. And the advice is to just stay near the city center / watch-tower. I was there a year ago and had a good time at pleyclub and felt safe. Has it become more dangerous or something in the past year? I haven't seen any reports recently.
Going there has not become more dangerous in the last year.

Clock Tower.
Have not had time to do full reports yet of last few days.
We went to clock tower on Wednesday night at 11 pm.
It was packed with girls and not a lot of guys around. We stopped counting at 70 girls, I would estimate there was at lady a 100 or more. Maybe 15 or 20 mongers.
10 to 1 ratio. Girls were asking 150,000 to 200,000 depending on their looks. It's define try a buyers market.

I think this year you can't really go wrong in Cartagena given the Venezuelan hookers showing up in mass.
Two mongers, both in early 50's. I have mongered all over Europe, Canada and Central America, I speak zero Spanish. Wing man has taken a few trips to Central America with me and is fluent in Spanish.
Flight from Atlanta to Cartagena, with one hour layover in Florida, on Spirit. I have never flown on spirit before and I can see why it was cheap. Certainly no frills, charging you for a snack or a bottle water. Seats don't recline and no entertainment devices. Longest flight of the two leg trip was 2. 5 hours, so it didn't really matter. The price was right for $365 round trip. Landing in Cartagena was like landing in the Bahamas, you exit onto the runway and walk to the terminal. Had a flight land in front of us, so customs was packed and it felt like hours but in reality, it took about 45 minutes to get through.
Meet up with wingman who arrived twenty minutes earlier. A quick change of $100 at the airport so we have some cash to pay for a taxi, exchange rate was 2500 per dollar.
Outside the negotiations begin as we are in need of a ride and some party supplies. After 10 minutes of back and forth and not agreeing on pricing, I walk away and the next taxi guy meets our price in 10 seconds, as he has watched what had been going on. The guy I walked away from jabbered a bunch of nonsense with the only message I got was to be careful of the police. A veiled threat for sure but whatever dude. He's just pissed but would of had the business had he not stuck to his gringo pricing model.
I have a feeling that we're going to have that same situation recurring as I am more of the hard ass and my buddy is it more of a softie. He doesn't understand or he doesn't want to bother to haggle over a few pesos here and there and he gets frustrated with me haggling over a few pesos while I get frustrated with him for just paying gringo pricing. He thinks gringo pricing is still reasonable and I guess it is if you compare it to where we come from but that's not the point. The point is to protect the price for everyone else that follows. I also see it as kind of a respect thing that quoting us these pricing is kind of disrespectful.
15 minutes later we arrive at the Marinare building and check in. Taxi driver Frank, drops us off and headed out to procure our supplies with a 20 minute ETA. We were met by Adolfo as Juan said he would not be there because he was in town. He said he will meet up with us tomorrow. We stayed in unit 1004 which at first glance look tired and weak. I would say that the furniture is not very comfortable and they don't make good use of the outside patio that has an awesome view. The bed was a little bit harder than I like but it was firm and clean. In my bedroom there is a wall of mirrors next to the bed and access out to the patio. In the second bedroom there is an en suite bathroom but no access to the back patio. There is an abundance of hot water which to me is a deal breaker and the water pressure was awesome. It certainly doesn't feel lived in which is more like what we are used to. There was only two towels, no bath mats so you slide and slip around on the tile floors, no paper towels and no shampoo, which are just a few of the things that you would expect. On the plus side though it does have a washer and dryer in the unit, safes in both bedrooms, an iron and ironing board and the unit is clean and no evidence of bugs. Considering all in we paid 630 for 7 nights, can't complain.
We did exchange some cash next door for 2600 per 1, not great but cop has been getting stronger lately.
Taxi driver Frank shows up at our unit 20 minutes later as promised. He shows up with twice the amount of supplies that we requested and after I refused to pay for more than we had asked for, he just gave us the rest for gratis. So we got twice the amount for the same price. He did us a solid so we told him we take him out for a beer and a small meal. Off we go and we tell him to take us to a hotspot for locals. We end up at Kiosco El Boni which as we all know is just overpriced due to its location. This is the first demerit for Frank. I had that fish platter thing where they don't cut the head off the fish, comes with rice and salad it was really fresh and good. Had some ceviche which was also awesome. Had a few beers and told Frankie was time to head back but to take us to the pharmacy first as we were in need of some blue Genies. Total damage for three meals and a bunch of beers was 130,000. After driving 10 blocks and passing 10 pharmacies we wind up at one. Of course Frank comes in with us and stands next to us at the pharmacy counter. This is the second demerit for Frank as I already understand what he is doing. We were quoted a price of six dollars per pill which were 20 MG. Pharmacist told us they would last 36 hours. All I could do was laugh and turn around and walk away. Wingman and Frank we're both like hey what are you doing and I said I was going to the pharmacy next-door. Suddenly generic 50 MG pills appeared for one dollar each. Grabbed what we needed and headed back to the apartment sending Frank on his way. I assume to go pick up his tips from the restaurant and pharmacy.
We both had been up since 4 am due to early flights and It's now about 10 PM. We were both tired so we decided we're just going to chill for the night, grabbed a pizza from the Caribbean caf next-door for 33,000 and start making contact with some chicas from the photoprepagos site. We both head to bed about midnight and of course we are tired as hell but I can't sleep.
Wingman's already sleeping so I guess I'm on my own. A few quick WhatsApp messages and a quick negotiation for 150,000 and a cab ride. 10 minutes later Lena is downstairs getting herself checked in. Get a phone call from the front desk asking if it's ok to send her up.
Meet her at the door and she's exactly as her pictures. 19 years old, awesome solid body with great small see naturals and a perfect small hard ass. Only thing about her that bothered me was that she had braces. Not sure why but I just hate that. I offer her a drink or some party material which she says no thank you and into the bedroom we go.
Became obvious very quickly that she has not been doing this for long. She was a little bit nervous and didn't seem quite sure what to do or how to get it started.
I took my time undressing her, nibbling her neck and playing with her tits from behind her. It wasn't long before she was purring and a quick finger check said she was more than ready. She stated getting a bit more aggressive and pushed me back on the bed to pull off my shorts and get to work with her mouth. Not the greatest at giving head but I could tell she was trying and it was getting her excited. She would giggle and make signals with her hands that it was too big for her to take very deep and she would gag a bit but keep trying. I don't think she understands how hot it is that she gags and keeps trying.
She pops on a condom and climbs on top. Yikes, I could feel how wet she was through the condom and she was tight. She started out slow, leaning down to tongue kiss and offer her tits to my mouth. It wasn't long before she sitting up tall and period and started seriously pumping and working my pole like the trooper she is.
She came pretty quick and mumbled a bunch of shit that I didn't understand but the mood told me it certainly wasn't complaining. Flip her over and figure it's my turn. Uh, nope. Turns out she likes that more and is now on her second pop. I'm beginning to feel like the one that's being used at this point.
Her grabbing my hands and putting them on her tits and moaning while doing her doggie was enough for me. I finished up and she asked through translator if I was happy and if she could go? Gave her 170,000 and sent her on her way. Drift off to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and the waves hitting the beach in the background.
Day one, over and out. Six more to go.
Enjoyed your day one report. Please keep them coming. And I have the same attitude as you do about getting "gringoed up" by the locals -- it's not about a few bucks here and there, it's about getting treated like a moron. I've traveled in South America and South East Asia, but from what I keep reading it seems like Cartagena is in a league of its own.
I'm staying in the same apartment in June, BTW. Would love to hear more of your thoughts about it.
You don't need to haggle at the airport. There's a booth where you tell them your destination and get a coupon. A taxi will come up and you hand him the coupon with the price on it. It's always been 20 k for me to Bocagrande from the airport. When I first started going to Cartagena I did not know about this system. If the taxi skips the coupon line he's trying to skip the fee he pays. The veiled threat may just have been the taxi driver saying you were breaking the law by not paying the fixed price. Not sure really.
In Cartagena taxis are all on fixed fare. I believe from Bocagrande to centro historico its 7 k or 8 k (I usually just give the guy 10 k).
Many things in Cartagena have a fixed price. Knowing the prices is something you learn over time, or just ask other tourists who seem more experienced. The actual median price for a hooker in Cartagena is 150 k. I've been told this price over and over by both touts and chicas after a few beers with them. They'll let it slip in conversation: "Oh, but a chica can earn 150 k per customer. It's good money for them!" This doesn't mean you'll see 150 k quoted as often. I tend, as per my reports, to pay 200 k for short time and 400 k for TLN. You're free to stand firm on 150 k but don't expect to always get takers.
The only other piece of unsolicited advice I can give on your report is to try not to anger the locals. You'll inevitably come across an angry crowd of touts trying to get their due from a tourist. It always looks very precarious.

Don't [CodeWord140] off the locals. This applies everywhere, whether in Another country or 50 miles away from home. The best you can hope for is nothing. The worst case scenario isn't something you want to think about.
Especially don't [CodeWord140] off the locals if you don't speak the language.
Haggling over price is an art form. The first step is to find someone willing to haggle. You do that by walking away. If price is negotiable, they'll come after you. If you're haggling with a taxi driver, in front of the airport about buying coke and weed, you're haggling in the wrong place. You should be haggling in an institution for the criminally stupid. You're begging to be either robbed or arrested. The taxi driver wasn't threatening you. He was telling you that you were begging to get into trouble.

Touts
Just curious. Reading some scary reports and how Cartagena touts won't take "no" for an answer. How do the veterans suggest we should deal with them. When a smile and "no gracia" won't cut it -- then what?

I wrote this in my last report:
The Beach:
Playa Hollywood had a very mixed crowd. When facing the ocean, the gay section is on the left, and all others are to the right. I read and noted a lot about the beach in advance. BUT, I still had issues with some of the beach venders. Some, would not take no for a answer. I had this conversation a few times:
Me: No gracias (with a smile).
Vendor: Doesn't leave.
Me: No gracias (no smile).
Vendor: Doesn't leave.
Me: ¿Hablas español?
Vendor: Si.
Me: ¡No quiero nada o nadie!
Vendor: Finally moves on.
Ignoring after the first "No Gracias" also works now and then.

The set price for a ride from Airport Zone to Quito zone is 18,000. We pay 20,000 is easier and gives them a little tip.
Set prices from Centro to Boca or Quito is 7,000. We pay 8,000.
I avoided the airport taxis and went for a taxi out of the line because we thought we would have better luck with him on the stuff we needed beyond the ride.
I mentioned that at the end of my post.
I've been to PV twice, and the vendors are no way near as bad as they are in Cartagena!
I guess I should have been more specific in my answer.
If you say "No, gracias", the word "no" gives them an opportunity to respond (for instance, "why not", etc). Vendors are simply trying to extend the conversation longer and the word "no" allows them to do that.
That's the reason that I simply use "gracias" as my response. It is polite but it also signals that the conversation is over.
Of course, there are always vendors who keep talking anyway. But usually a second "gracias" shuts them up and they move away.
Try it next time and see if it works. It has for me and I've been all over Mexico and South America. If it works for you, I've helped. If it doesn't, well, no harm no foul.
