On previous trips to Dubai have always enjoyed the odd trip to the Moscow Hotel and Red Square Club as there in the past it always seemed to have a good selection of girls.... however oh how things have changed.

Whilst the hard times recently have made other clubs to either cut or do away with entrance fees and offer free drinks promotion, this place has decided to go the opposite direction and basically rip the customers off big time.

In the past have always started night sitting in the coffee shop in the lobby and speak to the odd girl. Decided to meet an old flame there on Sunday night, so we we sat down and had 2 coffees and a mineral water, no issues so far. When i got the bill it came to DH185. When i question the DH100 item on the bill was told it was the minimum charge of Dh50 per person. However their interpretation of Minimum charge actually means sit-down-at-table fee, with any drinks in addition. OK although not happy put it down to experience, however that was just the first half of the sting !

They now charge Dh100 to enter (yes I know should have just turned around then !!). Paid the fee and proceeded to the bar and handed my ticket to bar staff and requested a beer, only to be told the free drink promotion ended last month !!!. Extermely miffed by now just order a bottle of beer and vowed to down it quickly and leave.

By 12am there were no more than 20 girls (mainly Uzbeks none better than a 3 or 4) in the place and completely dead (band are shite too!!). That was it had been conned out of over Dh300 for a coffee and beer !. Decided to cut my losses went outside to taxi and headed straight off down to rattlesnake, Dh50 entry and free beer, place was packed. There that's how you do business in hard times.

Guys, give this place a wide berth now, you can get a lot better and cheaper elswehere.

My experience was it's more likely to enforce admission fees on EVERYONE, even known, repeat customers. But nothing like the order of magnitude screw you received.

With the reappearance of 11Bravo and Piper on the board after their sabbaticals I am half expecting to bump into Mr "Premature lyrics" and "House of the Rising Sun" guy on my next trip to Seaview!! Whatever happened to thos 2? Mr HORS guy I spotted last summer in music room with the biker possee but not seen him since.

I have also started researching hotel prices for the summer and Panorama can be procured at Dhs 140 for the night. Dar al sondos now down to Dhs240. Doesn't appear to be any downward trend in rates at Majestic or Ramada but I'm sure Steve Dubai has negotiated a nice rate at one or the other!! May give Majestic a call soon and see if the same reception staff are still there and if a bulk discount can be procured.

On Monday evening at about 6.30 pm, I was standing near Chotihram (opposite Ramada/Spinney's) when I noticed a Chinese girl approaching. To my surprise it was Anna of Al Quoz AMP fame. Obviously, she was now walking the streets.

The deal with A&V was 500 AED/each for ST and 1000 AED/each for LT.

Regarding the security guy, he really had "big eyes" and a "big smile" when i came in with each time two girls :-)

Heard from a mongering friend of mine that this place rocks & Premiere/Kubu would pale in comparison. He had picked up a Scandinavian model last month for 2K LT. So last Wednesday tucked in two crispies into my wallet & off I went.

This bar is in GH, Dubai Marina & opens at 8. You get the complementary parking at the hotel. The entrance of the bar is seperate from the hotel & is little ahead of the valet guys. There was no entry fees.However, reservation could be mandatory , otherwise you may not get a seat, specially on the weekends. The first area you go through is the luxury lounge area which could set you down by a fixed sum of 3500. The next section is the main bar area which is divided into the round tables & the usual long tables with stools near the bartender area. The last section after this is quieter & is for the ones who just want to enjoy a meal peacefully. There is also an area outside with marina view.

Suprisingly the place was half full when it just opened half an hour back & it was not a weekend. The MF ration would be 40:60. I was given a seat in the bartender area on a stool as I was alone. The menu had a large selection of drinks (a glass of wine @ 54 & bear @36). The food menu was mainly oriental/Sushi. A meal for two with moderate drinks can easily set you
off by 500. I took my drinks in hand & just took a stroll of the bar area to explore. More than half of the ladies would be European, more from western side than eastern. There were many tables with 3 or 4 ladies alone but I was not sure how to break the ice. Most of the ladies could be easily awarded an 8 to 10 by the staunch critic. Some were also enjoying with men who looked more like their boyfriends/husbands than mongers.

Confused, I was just back to my seat. Probably this was a place you need to be very discreet. Back there, two ladies just occupied the seats in front of my seat & were talking to the waiter. Once the waiter left, I started with a Hi & could find them very friendly. They were working for an airline & had the day's off.
