It's also right next to very busy Sukhumvit Road.
If you want a comparable hotel (4-star and slightly cheaper) in a quiet location, I can recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit in Soi 2. Take a room at the frontside, because at the backside its adjacent to a major highway.

Please note there's also a DoubleTree by Hilton in Soi 26, so don't book that one if you want to stay close to Nana.

I always take the Landmark as a present for the last three nights in Thailand.

But there is price tag, though.

Gentlemen,

I have been doing extensive research on Bangkok.

For my first ever international mongering trip, which is going to happen next year I have zeroed in on two possible hotels. Hotel Aira and Hotel Mandarin. Hotel Aira seems to be right in the thick of things. Close to Nana and a rooftop bar called Above Eleven - (I think the Eleven is probably a reference to Soi 11 and not 7/11) Also I noticed there is a night club called Aces. Is that a good place to pick up a freelancer (FL) ? The drink and food menu looked hip and seems like a good time to be had there.

Any idea how Hotel Mandarin compares in comparison to Hotel Aira. It seems a tad bit cheaper (I am not penny pinching but just noticed). It also seems to be a litter further away from where the action is.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

But, it's a good hike from Nana Plaza and the go go girls and Soi 4 girls are unlikely to be happy about walking that far. Plenty of tuk tuks will be available for 100 to 200 baht. Many freelancers and clubs at night along the way as you walk from Above Eleven to Nana Plaza.

Hotel Aira and Above Eleven (which are right next to each other) seem like 4. 2 km (2. 6 miles) from Nana Plaza. Yes, you are right. Nana is not walkable from Aira so Tuk-Tuk or Grab would be the best choice.

I can only find Mandarin Hotel Bangkok, but it's on Rama IV Rd., which is quite far from Nana. And it's more expensive than the Aira Hotel.

Actually, with the Flight + Hotel Package for Mandarin (around $1450) is cheaper than Flight + Hotel ($1600) Package for Aira.

I guess I will still to Aira as its closer to most action.

The Hotel Aira that I know on Soi 11 is probably half a km away from Above Eleven and there is a lot of action between the two businesses. Either of those businesses are a little less than 1 km from Nana Plaza. Still, more walking than many P4P girls will appreciate. I've walked that route many times alone, but not with a girl.

If I were to re-make my first mongering trip to Bangkok, I would stay along Sukhumvit between Soi 2 and Soi 23 (which is across from Soi 18). I'd get a hotel within about a quarter km of Sukhumvit (a little further from Sukhumvit would be fine if on Soi 11, since it's got so much action).

Any information on the hotels near Lat Prabang which is close to the airport?

I have used the Novotel before but it has become a Hyatt and the deals are not so friendly.

Not concerned about travel to Sukhumvit since I will have visitors from Thai Friendly with their own cars even.

To me that's right next to each other. May not share a common fence but close enough.

That being said, do you have recommendations for good hotels right where the action is. By good I mean something comparable to Hotel Aira. Clean, Classy, Upscale.

Also I did say about jumping into Tuk-Tuk or Grab to take the girls back to my room. Hopefully, they are usually amenable to that.

My personal favorites are Mercure and Night hotels (both nice 4-star places). Next trip I might try Maison on Soi 4, mostly because of sizzling location. I'll forever avoid Ambassador.

Anyone had any experienceof the Royal Benji Hotel near Nana Plaza? It's got mixed reviews in the same vein as many other hotels but seems fairly priced for a 5* Hotel.

I do presume it's "girl friendly".

I will be in Bangkok mid November.

Can you not just email the hotel on the addy provided on their website and ask them very politely if they are guest friendly, and if they require guests to register. Personally for me, I would prefer the guests register for variety of reasons. When I go next year it would be my first time in Bangkok and first time ever leaving the country on a mongering trip. So additional assurance of safety protocol is always welcome.
