Good to see that Amazonia is doing well. It was originally called The Venue and was an upmarket Bar which never did good business. My understanding is that an Aussie guy based in the Phillipines bought it for around HK 1m. A bargain. All he had to do was change the sign. It helps having good bands.

A few days a month I have the pleasure of staying in Wan Chai. Generally I go to New Makati if I go anywhere. Maybe 9 or 10 months ago I met an Indo in there in the smoking corner, hit it off and took her home to the hotel. She swears she's a DH (probably true) and that she goes to bars for fun with friends and turns down lots of guys (maybe NOT true, but oh well). The sex was only ok (loose pussy) , but her enthusiasm for ANYTHING / EVERYTHING was amazing. If I wanted it we did it. $$ for Long Time overnight = $1000HK. So for a while I never gave her a heads up if I was in town I'd just show up (never on a Sunday) and see if she was with other guys which she wasn't. Later in the day I went back to Lockhart Road and chatted up a chap who said he went at 11am and the place was then packed, girls all over the guys, and much more enthusiasm than I saw. And I don't mean enthusiasm about me. When I went in at 7:30am none of the girls were really enthusiastic or interested in any of the guys that came in. MY GUESS: later in the morning the place gets refreshed with more of the "typical" Sunday DH's that this forum is full of stories about. If I get another Sunday off in Wan Chai again I will definitely go later and see how that works out.

In New Makati I generally look for girls that look like they are having fun rather than the super made-up hooker look. Only once have I screwed that up and bought a drink for a hooker. Reasonable conversation (over the thunderous music) , but then she wanted like $2500HK for short-time. I got her down to $1500, but forget it. I let that one pass. When you can have all night for $500. $1000HK with a little extra effort, I'll skip the legit hooker (the DH's sort of pretend that they aren't prostituting themselves. It's more of a "donation" and I don't argue with the symantics. Whatever baby, just come to my room and rock my world.)

NEPTUNE III.

I've tried Neptune III since Neptune 2 has been closed, but N-III seems to be more difficult for me to meet girls. Very few are dancing or mingling in my 3 times there. YMMV.

You know what, often before heading out for the night to a bar my thought process is basically "I want a girl for all-night sex". I'm in my 30s so that is reasonably realistic. However, after the first pop often my attitude changes considerably. At the beginning of 2012 I spent a lot of time searching out 141 places. I might go back to that (Mong Kok, Northpoint, Fortress Hill, wherever). Contact her, message back and forth, meet up and have a great time. For a legit "provider" she is super accommodating. Look up those links and see what she's into! That's exactly what she's into. I haven't seen her since maybe March a year ago, but I'd be surprised if any of that has changed. I just stopped seeing her because I don't have that kind of coin$$ to throw around on sex. DH's fit my budget a bit better but are often more work. But, I wish I ever could justify spending enough $$ to have Chantik for all night.

Hong Kong is an excellent place to punt if you don't have to pay for your hotel.

Its interesting that the guy that bought the business has done very well.

And I think he has bars / hotels in Manila and Subic.

Being a European and working in HK quite often, I got acquainted with the Wanchai bars these past few years.

I spent some time in Amazonia mostly, simply because the Philipino bands playing in there were quite amazing; no one in this forum would object to that.

Concerning the girls, I was mostly approached at the bar by Philipinas trying to make some commissions at the bar. Most of them were doing official or unofficial part time jobs as DH or worse in the day time. They confessed to me that all of them were commissioned on their drinks and a couple of them told me how surprised they were to be refunded some bucks after having a few drinks with clients on their first time at the bar. The ones who did not know about it ended up learning fast. True or not true? These are only pillow confessions.

Of course these girls were all on short term Visa with at least one kid to feed back home. Some were even married. They were all in desperate need for money: money to pay for their visa, for their boarding, for their food, for Western Union to send home etc. Etc. The ones I ended up picking up for a nigt were not professionals. They were just nice girls trying to make a dime.

After a while in this horrible situation, one can understand they feel the need to be saved and seek protection. So, of course, they will try to quote you the highest they can, especially if you look European, westerner and horny. But who could blame them?

Beyond the financial aspect, I have had many and many freebies with girls who were just seeking protection and some quiet time with a nice person. It is amazing to see what a good drink and nice conversation can do as far as the financial aspect of the bargain is concerned. I even remember asking girls what they wanted in exchange for one night in my hotel room. The reply was more than often "It's up to you.". I even withdrew some cash for them just because I wanted to give them more than just taxi money and because some told me about their lives overnight. And I could not hear that without making a move.

These girls are fragile and at bay. They are human beings with feelings. Remember that during your Hong Kong nights mongering and the relationship will be financially and morally more profitable to you. IMHO of course.
