I tend to notice they are businessminded enough in indonesia not to make it a difference. If she accepts its almost always her price. Good looking seems to influence almost nothing. Being relaxed and smile and showing you are in no hurry seems to get acceptable negotiations. If it all seem to affect her mood it is just a playing card to make you reach for one bill more. How I see it. The bonus idea is interesting though. Thanks for sharing your style, I still haven't found one that works consistent for me.

I will be in Jakarta next week with some prospective corporate clients from Malaysia (aged 50+). Intend to take them out for some entertainment as it is their first time there. This is my rough plan, need some suggestions on places:

On the 1st night approx 1030pm, we will have a short business talk over drinks, before going for one round of play. The place shouldn't be too loud and have too many interruptions from mamasans / girls, but it should be clear to my clients that this is a place to have fun. Also, I will need to pick up the total tab, so payment should be to the establishment rather than directly to the girl (other than tips). Can be something like a spa, but there should be option to remain clothed in case they are conservative and don't feel comfortable enough to jump into a jacuzzi together.

On the 2nd day, we will have a longer business discussion in the late morning, followed by lunch. Prefer to have somewhere private, where we can talk first say for about an hour or 90 minutes, before lunch is served. It should be exclusive and posh.

2nd night, intend to take them to a place where they can pick up girls for the night. I will pay for drinks, but overnight activities will be on their own accounts. From what I read so far, I am probably looking at CJs or BATS, any other choices?

Had you been a regular poster (as oppose to this being your very first post) I'm sure you would have had a flood of responses by now. I will however try and give some small guidance with whatever little knowledge that I have. You haven't specified any budget so I'm assuming that your corporate entertainment has a rather flexible one. Perhaps you could either look at Alexis on your first night or, alternatively, perhaps a KTV Karaoke. Since you'd have your own room, you would be able to control the noise levels - at least until you all decide to up the fun level. As for your lunch, any of the upmarket hotels could cater to your needs (Ritz Carlton, Mulia, Kempinski, Grand Hyatt etc). It's also pleasant to sit in the Cafe in Plaza Indonesia at almost any time of day and have a discussion over coffee / tea and light food. If you look at CJs or BATS, do get a table booked so your clients have seats. Incidentally, it's easier to talk in BATS, but I tend to think that the way you sit at the low tables on the raised level in CJs lends for a more "endearing" view of the ladies. YMMV.

I've booked my trip in after reading many posts here so thank you. Mid April I'll be in Jakarta staying at fx Harris senayan then Kemang icon (I'll write a report specifically about this one as I've seen it talked about here in the hotels thread).

Whatever has been said I like the vibe of Blok M. This time I'd like to try an alternate area. Is there anything up North similar to Blok M where I'd not feel like I stick out like a sore thumb? I'm not into the travel or classic hotel type places and like the idea of a few drinks (as we all do) and getting to know the girls. I prefer low end places so am trying avoid places like BATS.

I'm aware my hotel locations are good for red sq which I've had great fun in the past at and Kemang is not so far from blok m.

I'm 41 yr old Bule with no Bhasa skills.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Especially if you don't speak bahasa.

If you are looking for low end places where the girls can speak some English, Blok M is the way to go. However, I find it odd that say you want to avoid high end places like Bats, yet you enjoy Red Square. I don't see a lot of difference between Red Square and Bats. There are a lot of the same girls in those 2 places. I consider Bats, Cjs, Red square, Dragon Fly, Immigrant and all of those type of places to be high end.

Thanks for the response. I guess in my mind I consider Reds a place to go where I can pick up a non paid girl as I have done on every occassion (granted, it was only 4 times so far!). Out of the places you've mentioned, BATS & CJs I've read here on the forum its mostly (if not all) P4P whereas I found Immigrant and DragonFly to be normal girls which too be honest when I'm in Jakarta and easier options surround me I couldn't be bothered with. Stunner or not, I don't like girls with attitude and avoid them. Red Square seemed to be a nice mix of the two with the last one I took from there I was convinced was a P4P but when I offered her money in the morning literally only wanted the taxi money of 70k to get back to her place. One thing I haven't quite mastered yet is distinguishing the party girls from the hookers at times! Amateur, I know.

But your advice noted. Thank you. I think I'll pop into BATs just to check it out on easter Saturday followed by Reds and always Blok M as a backup.

On the occasions I've been there I've been in a small group with a mix of local girls and my ex pat friends. My scores have been with the girl who managed the table reservations there (I won't name her) and a few nights later her friend. The other two were with girls the group befriended on the night. This is why in my initial post I tried to point out the difference between red sq and places like bats due to my experience there. And yes, I still end up paying whether it's in the morning or buying drinks.

Agree with Smoothy, BlokM is probably at the lower end of the spectrum if you want to communicate in English at ease.

Probably lower than that is Jl Jaksa and Wahid Haysim bars, large bintangs 30k. But its a diverse crowd of expats who been in Asia far too long, hookers, guys from Africa, old ugly girls, PNG alcoholics, drug dealers, ladyboys. Anyway, if your a backpacker at heart its fine.

PS. Bats last week. 1 large beer was 125k (thats inc the tax). Ouch.

My advice for the first night where you pay is to go to Hotel Alexis. You can sit around a table and talk, as it's fairly quiet. The girls are in the background. Different groups of girls sit together by nationality: Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, etc. Your clients can remain dressed and talk and drink or they can go to the room with a girl if they like. You can also ask for a line-up of the girls to come to your table. For the night on their own, BATS is the best, but the music is too loud to talk, so go there when you're ready to pick. They also have a lounge at the Shangri-La Hotel where you can talk before going to BATS.
