I'm certainly no Tom Cruise or filthy rich (but I'm not poor). On the occasions I've been there I've been in a small group with a mix of local girls and my ex pat friends. My scores have been with the girl who managed the table reservations there (I won't name her) and a few nights later her friend. The other two were with girls the group befriended on the night. This is why in my initial post I tried to point out the difference between red sq and places like bats due to my experience there. And yes, I still end up paying whether it's in the morning or buying drinks.
If you have a group of expat friends who regularly book a table at red square buying bottles of alcohol and are well known there, that's a big advantage. Especially if they have local girlfriends and are known to treat those girls "royally". In that case, the girls will see you as a prime target since you are their friend. That's a big difference between going there alone and milking a beer all night.
Another place that isn't too bad is the bar at the JW Marriott. Sometimes that place has nice girls out for a good time and it's normally fairly crowded on the weekend and ladies night after 11pm.
