Anyone ever heard of or (hopefully) been to a place called Giggles in Cubao?

I met two very sexy women from there a couple of months ago. I tried to pry from them on several occasions what kind of a club it was, but they would not explain it to me. I asked if it was a KTV, Strip / Burgos / EDSA type bar and they stated emphatically NO! They would only tell me that all of the women parade around in bikinis, and that they get tips and lady drinks. They also said their is no barfining. If someone lives near or has the occasion to drop by there I think it would be worth the time. These two were definitely 9's.

1) Is Eurotel in Pedro gil a girl friendly hotel? Is this hotel nice how much you pay per night.

2) what is the on going LT and St rate for MBC? Any other venue that can have some nice girls bring back to hotel for the night?

3) Last time, I have seen some bars around Ermita and vicinity, how much is the LT / ST for those go go girls or bars girls, which establishment is much better and not a ripping oof dept?

I am traveling to Hong Kong on business in February so I decided to take a 3 day side trip to the Philippines and do some mongering and perhaps sight seeing (in that order). I am a relative new comer to the brotherhood of mongers and a Philippine First timer. I am starting to plan my trip and have been vicariously reading the forums for some time. I hope to be able to share my plans here and welcome any feedback or suggestions.

I should mention that I am 50ish, don't dance well and tend to dress in Hawaiian shirts and shorts when being a tourist, have a camera dangling from my neck and a Lonely Planet guide in my back pocket. Actually, I don't own a hawaiian shirt, but not far off the stereotype.

My fantasy for this trip is to have an ST experience with young (read 19-20ish) attractive girl friend like companion and then a LT experience with another equally young and attractive girl. I guess my expectations are a little high if I expect to get off the plane and immediately have a qualifying lady recognize my inner beauty and greet me with an offer to help me achieve my fantasy, so I plan on doing my homework with the help of ISG.

Reading through recent posts, skipping over those ones about legalized weed (its illegal in my state) , I see I am confronted with a raft of decisions to make; Do I target Manila or Angeles? Makati vs. Ermita (MBC) vs EDSA EC vs. Shopping malls (Robinsons or Mall of Asia or Hooters etc.) and NOT NOT Tondo. Do I seek professional bar girls (and bar fines) vs. Freelancers (no bf but possibility of runners). Do I stay in a hotel near my targeted area (ie. Copacabana or Heritage near EDSA, or Bejaya or Oxford Suites or Eurotel in Makati or Pan Pacific in Ermita. Anyway, you get the idea that there are many alternatives I need to consider and it's somewhat bewildering. Where is the Dummy's Guide to Mongering in the Philippines when I need it?

I actually have decided to confine my activities to Manila and save AC for another visit to Phil's, so that's one decision made.

I'll keep reading and hopefully come up with a first timer's strategy to success (or this that succsex). I'll keep you informed and welcome any feedback as I go. Please be patient with me. Thanks

Questions, followed by "sorry I didn't RTTF." Please take the time to go RTTF. Then provide some post with real information the other gents can use: where you found the girls, prices, etc. If you had RTTF, you would have found us saying that all hotels in Malate / Ermita are girl-friendly (post it please if you find one that is not). And the mattress is hard and poor quality and the breakfast sucks, I move to Las palmas next day cost about 500 peso more a night.

So is Las Palmas better? I am also consider to try that one. In the past, I stay In Kimberly but they are charging me a rate of almost the same as Heritage so I decided not to stay there this time. I have seen that Las Palmas is also closer to the rest. So I will try it if it is better than Eurotel. Eurotel is charging me P1910 per night with less 10%.

I also hope to try to get into those go-go bar but as I wonder if the prices is quite high, as I havde seen so many Japanese client visiting those bars. Any recomendation?

Many years ago, I have seen so many beer houses around different street in Manila. And there is some go go girls wearing Bikinis dancing on the stage and some girls tableling their guest and they earns thru the numbers of drinks they have. Is there still something like this around?

My last visit, I saw some karaoke bars, did not try to check as I am alone anf chicken out. Anyone have try this? How is the SOP overthere, can the girls be take out?

Barfine place, p1500, the girls all promise to stay until 9am the next morning, even if you take them out in the late afternoon. Small place, only about 10-15 girls working at any one time. The place is across the street from an outdoor live band place (I think called 6-Star or such, corner Pilar / Faura) , and between Faura street and the Duck Inn on Pilar.

I would have a night out barhoping in Makati on Burgos (be warned this could set you back few hundred dollars especally if you barfine) , and a night in EDSA / MBC. I would also visit MBC and the bars around the area + robinson mall during the afternoon. You will find that girls from other areas would travel to Makati while it may be more dificult to presuade a burgos girl to go to malate with you for an allnighter. Since your time is short and you are new to the game you should read up on MBC, EDSA and Burgos which should be enough. Go with bar girls for the all nighter (but make sure you negotiate the time she leaves in advance) while you can take the freelancer short time mainly due to safety reasons (freelancers are more likely to steal from you). If I was you I would forget the Berjaya and look at Oxford or Makati Palace as a base. For short time fun from MBC you can always go accross the road to the insomnia hotel and pay short time room rental.

Be careful with cameras hanging around your neck especially in malate.

I think the first thing to understand is that 3 days will barely scratch the surface. So don't try to spread yourself out too thin and instead of trying to see everything, concentrate on one area and have a good time. A punter's first trip to the PI is usually never his last so you will see the other areas you miss on subsequent trips. My point is I think you will enjoy yourself wherever you choose to go, but not knowing your tastes, preferences and financial situation, it is impossible to say what is best for you. Each area is very different and distinctive: 1. Makati (Burgos) .2. MBC & EDSA Complex, or 3. AC.

Arriving for the first time in the Philippines from a wealthy and safe city like Hong Kong, Makati may be your best first choice. Downtown Makati is very upscale and safe. Burgos St is only a block and half from this downtown area. There are plenty of good bars there to satisfy a 3 night trip. Havana Cafe is another excellent place to find some very pretty Filipinas in Makati and there are a lot of restaurant choices in the Greenbelt Malls. The only downside is Burgos Street is expensive compared to the rest of your possible choices, but Havana is pretty reasonable. MBC and the area around it is like another universe. You will find the prices are much cheaper at MBC, but quality varies, and the neighborhood is the pits. Do not walk around here with a big SLR camera strapped around your neck, meaning you will be OK as long as you stay aware of things and take taxis at night. EDSA can be a lot of fun and they are close enough to each other that you can combine MBC and EDSA in a 3 night trip. Just get to EDSA early for the best choices. As to AC, well AC is AC. The town or let's say the strip – Fields and Perimeter, because that is all you will probably see is pretty funky honky tonk, but I and thousands of other punters dig it. There are more bars than Burgos St and EDSA combined and they vary from show palaces to small friendly hangouts. It is too bad you don't have 6 nights, because then I would recommend 3 nights in Manila and 3 nights in AC. By the way, Fields is safe and there is a decent variety of hotels to suit any budget. Also there are direct flights from Hong Kong to Clark which makes AC very convenient for a 3 night getaway. See SeAir (Tiger Airways) and Cebu Pacific.

So keep reading the forum and pick whichever destination seems to suit you best.

They don't wear shorts often in public (shy culture) , and they look down upon exactly the thing you are bringing: the hawaiian-beach-bum look. Wear long pants (jeans are fine) , no flip-flops (leather sandals or tennis shoes are fine) , and a decent shirt (something that tucks in). Loose that camera, any bling, and the 'tourist' guide in your back pocket (don't make a target of yourself for pickpockets).

As a newb to the place, don't be upset if it does not play out that way (you said yourself your expectations are high: a sure sign of future let-down). 1. Go to MBC in Malate one afternoon and ST your cutie. Go back a few hours later and LT another.

2. Another day do the same thing in Makati on Burgos St (much more expensive).

Given the short time-frame, don't dick around with dating site girls; they are very hit-or-miss.
