Maison is a nice, clean, quiet, full-service hotel, now rated 5-star with steep prices.

Front door is on soi 2 with back door out to Soi 4, only a couple hundred feet from Nana Plaza, within walking distances of 2 BTS stations on Sukhumvit. It's in the best location for night life, bars, girls, food, sampling local life styles. Bar girls and street girls would walk the Maison alley to this hotel. Like in other Thai hotels, just ignore the cool, distant manners by lady boys at reception with their bright lipstick and rosy cheeks.

This stretch of Soi 4 has the biggest group of street girls hanging out at all hours with a wide variety of skin colors, sizes, shapes, races, ethnicities, Thai, Viet, Caucasian, African, Muslim. I did not see loud and aggressive lady boys but do check their voices. A few older women, with decent English, hang out in this area interpreting for girls, likely minders for some. Any questions or requests, ask them.

I've booked 2 nights at the hotel. Does anyone have intel on whether its girl friendly and whether girls from Nana Plaza or Thermae would be willing to travel this far for ST? (looks like its 12 minutes in a taxi).

The one I am going to book for my next trip is Maison Hotel only 0.27 miles from Nana. I have never been to Thailand so my opinion is not even worth the paper its written on. LOL But I am told by the experienced mongers here that the closer the better. Makes sense. You don't want girl say No only because you are too far away and they feel like getting back they might wasting time. At least for my first mongering trip, the closer the better is what I am thinking.

I have never had a problem with my Nana girls travelling in taxis to hotels as far away Ekkamai. There are advantages and disadvantages to staying at hotels past Thonglo. A better choice of Thai restaurants is one advantage. But it is up to you. The new Intercontinental looks like a very good hotel. I assume you have booked a reservation there on hotel points or free voucher nights. This is another huge advantage of booking a major brand. If so, rock on. If not, then you might want to check out some other 5 stars closer in like the JW Mariott, Landmark, Weston, Hyatt Regency, Sofitel, Sheraton, Grand Centre Point T21, ect. BKK has lots of girl friendly hotels to choose from. Enjoy!

In Bangkok, with its heavy traffic, it makes getting around a lot easier if your hotel is within walking distance of a BTS- or MRT station.

Mogwai makes a very good point. To illustrate, I have stayed at the Marriott Executive Apartment Hotel on Sukhumvit many times because I like their 1 bedroom suite with kitchen / living room for entertainment purposes and I like their swimming pool. A key plus is that this hotel is located 1. 5 blocks from the Thong Lor BTS station making it easy peasy to get around.

By comparison I have stayed at the Marriott Executive Apartment Hotel on Soi 24 which is around 6 blocks from the Phrom Phong BTS station and thus closer to the action, obviously, than the Thong Lor location, but it is a little less convenient despite the fact that a whole bunch of oilies are located 5. 5 blocks away on the Soi 24 side alley before you hit Sukhumvit. But I like staying at both hotels and I also like staying closer in on Sukhumvit itself and walking distance to Nana / Soi 11 / Cowboy. Mixing things up by staying in different neighborhoods is a pretty good thing when I am in BKK for 4 to 6 weeks per visit.

You're really saying it's OK because it is located near a BTS station? Like he's going to bring these girls back to his room using the BTS?

And the answer is yes, it is not an issue. Fact: I never had a problem bringing back Nana girls to the Marriott Executive Apartment hotel on Sukhmvit 1.5 blocks past Thong lo by taxi. I never had a problem bringing Patpong girls back as far as Sukhumvit Soi 24 either. And I am talking about bringing back a lot of girls over a 25-year time span which began around the time the BTS went into business. I can recall when there was no BTS and I never would have thought of staying anywhere beyond Soi 23!

So, the proximity to a BTS station that Mogwai and I are talking about is for the convenience of going out and looking for girls or whatever else one has in mind and not for bringing girls back to one's hotel room. Nobody in his right mind would try to pull that cheap charley move on a working girl, 555, although I can recall a couple of times when I was with a favorite repeat girl and no taxis were available for some reason, and we jumped on the BTS out of sheer necessity, laughed at ourselves for taking the train, and no harm was done.

Anyone know if Ibis on Soi 24 is guest friendly? I like the idea of staying close to Soi 24/1 Alley and Phrom Phong BTS station. I typically stay at Adelphi Suites, but when I was there in July a new skyscraper (hotel?) was just under construction directly by Adelphi and I don't want to deal with construction noise.

About 10% chance if transportation is BTS plus walking. It's still a fair amount of walking.

And apart from that, the BTS stops running around midnight, so after that time it's not even an option anymore.

They don't ask for the girl's ID's either. You do have to come down to bring them up and back down because elevator use is key card only.
