I'm like 90% sure I didn't get the placebo. I was exhausted enough to fall asleep at 9 pm the day I got the vaccine, then woke up in the middle of the night shivering while my apartment was 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Fever of 102, headache, nausea, tender arm where they injected me. Sucked feeling shitty but felt great to know that I would have some degree of protection against this damn virus. And that I would be able to travel stress free months before everyone else could. 100% worth it.

P.S. - I took an antibody test here in Colombia and it came back negative. Hence why I'm only 90% sure. But a fever couldn't be a figment of my placebo-induced imagination. I think more likely the blood tests was a false negative. Will verify when I'm back in the states.

They are still reflecting on possible explanations, but however they will repeat the 0. 5+1 pattern on more volunteers to achieve better confidence of results.

Vaccines are not a simple matter. Usually several years are needed to complete the experiments, now they try to validate results in less than one.

But I think it's safe to say that vaccinated individuals, if asymptomatic, will probably have a lower viral load and will shed less virus.
