I think it’s mostly practice though its still not easy. There are those who purport to be able to spot one at 50 meters and if that true god bless them, but I swear, after you filter out the obvious ones, it still takes some deduction. In fact I think I've turned away real women by accident!

just a quick comment/ question. i live in the pi and i am working here in bangkok now and just starting to get a little familiar with how things are here. i had an incident the other night that has me curious. my co-worker and i took a couple girls from soi cowboy and were heading back to the hotel when we were flagged down and pulled over by police at an aparent road check. we were all told to get out and i directly walked away and stood on the curb like i have done in the past in other parts of the world. they searched my co-worker pretty well even as far as smelling the cigarettes in his cig pack. the two girls were searched physically also and bags gone through very closely and id's checked for a few minutes. they didn't bother me until they were ready to go and i just jumped in the taxi.

poseidon entertrainment complex is way overpriced in my opinion. they start out around 4000thb and the prices go up way higher, i have never had a a maasage there so i can't tell you how good of an experience it is, the couple times i have been in there, the girls didn't look any better than anywhere else. plus they charge the farang tax. which is unacceptable. imho.

After getting rip off left and right in Grand Palace, I dropped all pretense of sightseeing and indulge my hedonistic desire in Tulip. if only i had time to check out all these places!![/quote]poseidon had always been my favorite because i had a regular there from the upstairs lounge, but she retired after 2 years earlier this year. quality of girls at poseidon is decent, but same-same as most other mp's. rooms are fairly nice though, but yes it is more expensive. fishbowlers start at 2000 thb, and upstairs you'll pay 2,900 up to 6,000 thb i think.
nataree has decent selection and quite a few younger girls. rooms are a bit run down though. a bit intimidating when you enter nataree as all the sideliners (sometimes 50-60 girls) sit around the lounge begging for attention/selection. but it is definitely something to experience!
akane, eden, tulip each has its specialties but probably not the best selection for a first timer.
there are so many choices but it really depends what you are looking for. the looks of the girl, the facility, the price. of course everyone's likes are different, so ymmv. good luck and hope your friend finds something he likes.
