Fishbowl MPs in Chiang Mai
I've been living in Chiang Mai but rarely do much mongering. Been to Sayuri a few times and have been curious what the other fishbowl massage parlors in town offered. I was hoping to have some fun at Phucome but ended up checking out a few more. Here's a first report.
Chiang Mai Massage at Phucome Hotel
Phucome has been on my to do list for awhile. Headed out there on a Wednesday night after dinner. I walked through the doors and was expecting to see other customers but the lobby was empty.
The papasan greeted me and I think I heard a bell ring to notify the girls. Papasan quoted me 1000 baht for the girls in the fishbowl and 1400 baht for the younger poo-yings outside the fishbowl to the left. There were only about six in the fishbowl and two of the younger gals. I usually don't like to sit down to choose especially if I'm the only customer, plus it feels too much like I have to commit if I take a seat.
I stood for a few minutes checking out what was available inside the fishbowl as the papasan kept on suggesting one of the younger girls. I was really hoping to find one in the fishbowl but nothing remotely caught my eye. The younger gals seemed preoccupied with a cellphone or something. Not a good sign.
Two customers walked in and the papasan went to attend to them. Heard that bell ring again. I decided to bolt and ride across town.
Pandora
First time to Pandora. Don't remember too much. Walked through the karaoke lounge. Gal was singing to an empty place. Got to the fishbowl area and was quoted 1200 baht as I looked over the fishbowl. I think it was about 9pm, not much of a selection. Place was not very busy and I was starting to think Wednesday night was a bad day of the week to go out fishing.decided not to hang out and left. I may try this place again on a different night and closer to 6pm.
Sayuri
I took a short ride over to Sayuri. Been here a few times before in the afternoon. Place was busy as usual. Was hoping to spot a gal I had before or one mentioned recently on this thread. About 15 girls in the fishbowl. All looked bored or disinterested. Someone should mention to these girls a simple smile goes a long way in their line of work. Waited a few more minutes as a few more girls returned. Nothing. Lobby was getting way to smoky to hang around.
FYI, in the past, I've paid 1000 baht at Sayuri. I've yet to be quoted verbally here. I just select a number and give 1000 baht at the counter. One time was asked to pay 1300 baht cause the girl had an 'M' on her badge.
In addition to the fishbowl and karaoke lounge, Sayuri also has a Traditional Thai Massage service up the stairs to the right. I went up there by accident my first visit to Sayuri. I remember the lady asking me if I wanted a Thai massage but knew I was there for a soapy and politely pointed me back down the stairs. Has anyone ever tried the services upstairs, possibly before or after a roll in the hay?
Chiang Mai Hill Massage
I rode back into town all the way to Chiang Mai Hill Hotel. Wasn't sure which direction to go as I entered the parking lot but the parking attendant pointed me to the left towards the back. As I headed that way I saw a "Body Massage" sign near the entrance.
I walked through the empty lobby. You can get a glimpse of the fishbowl through the small glass on the doors as you approach. It was getting late and I wasn't sure what to expect. Walked through the doors. The lobby is dark and small. Fishbowl is small too. A couple of Thai guys hanging out. I think they were all workers.
I was quoted 1200-1500 depending on the girl. About 8 girls in the fishbowl, mosty older. Not a bad thing but none that I wanted to pick that night. I recall reading the girls here are more MILFy. Well, believe it. About three of them were knitting. Beats watching Thai soapTV. I ended up declining, walked out and went home.
Conclusion
May try these places again on a different night and earlier time. Still need to check out Ping Payom and maybe Nancy's Massage at the President Hotel. Went to Nancy's my first visit to Chiang Mai and naively overpaid 2000 baht for a dead fish.
Although I did not participate this night out, I hope the report helps as far as giving some details and info around Chiang Mai.
Girl friendly hotel with Internet
i have searched a bit but not really found an answer to this question. does anyone know of a good girl-friendly hotel or serviced apartment with reliable high speed internet, and a desk or table in the room to work at? i'd prefer to be near the night bazaar and pay no more than 1500 baht per night (in june, so low season price) but if this is not possible i am open to other recommendations. d2 is definitely out of my price range. i plan to stay for about a week, or longer if i really like chiang mai.
