I am presently in Thailand, and have tentative plans to return to meet up once again with my good friend Fifty/Fifty probably the latter part of June. (see the Phuket reports) Maybe a side trip to visit Davao can be in order so we can see how the Slayer slays them LBFM. Nice pic you posted of the Davao girl. Care to share the info.? Do you ever go anywhere else other than the P.I Slayer?. I know you have been to China in the past. Also nice to see you are a little mellower these days, old age must finally be catching up to you. ;)

WePlanning to rent a car to get around. Avis has an office inside the Mt Apo Hotel . Traffic in Davao is supposed to be less 'loco-loco' than in Manila.

-3- Waterfalls (a few...will hire a local guide.)

-G.H-[/QUOTE]Think your agenda may be too ambitious and exhausting for one week. The best waterfalls, for example are probably 1.5 hours west of central Davao. You do not need a local guide, but it will take you about a full day to get there, visit the falls and then return. The Dole Plantations, at least the nice ones, are further still, around Valencia, about 4 hours from Davao. Lechon Baboy (disgusting in my opinion) is available anywhere as is sea food of course.

If you want to spend a night on the beach you have have to stay on Paradise Island for the night since the last ferry may be too early to accommodate your "night on the beach" plans. Again, my opinion only, but there are no good restaurants on Jack's Ridge, which is however easily accessible from White Mansions. You might want to try Jek's Vietnamese restaurant on the opposite ridge which at least serves edible food and has a view that's every bit as good as Jack's Ridge.

You did leave out the Philippine Eagle Conservatory which is well worth seeing, as well as the Butterfly and Crocodile farms, which are also reputed to be okay though I've not yet been. Also going to Eden Resort can be a lot of fun if you're with someone with whom it's fun to hang around. You might also want to consider--if you want a taste of more palatable food--checking out Cafe de Ville and De Bonte Koe restaurants, both of which are on Rizal St.

You can easily rent a car here, though Davao can be fairly confusing if you do not know your way around and the drivers are, if anything crazier than those in Manila, so it can take a little while to adjust to the anarchy that characterizes road behavior here.

Assuming you lose a night visiting the Dole Plantation, and maybe another night out on Paradise Island, you're down to five nights, which still ought to give you enough time to wander around to the good night spots.

This place looks a lot like the Red Knight Garden on a smaller level. I do recommend Red Knight Garden and I spent two nights there in 2008 to check it our as I had promised. I paid P2000 for a 2 bedroom the first night and 1100 for an efficiency the second night (the Kid moved into the 2 bedroom). At the time the place was fully booked and no room for negotiation. With current economic conditions and telling them you will stay a couple weeks, you should get a great discount. GE had negotiated P470/knight for Sir Brad (Brad could not negotiate an extra toothbrush), when Brad stayed in Davao for 4 months.

Red Knight Garden has in room cooking, a lovely swimming pool and nice restaurant outside. It was nice but far out near the airport. For a few nights when I planned to stay in the area and not venture out, save for nearby trips to Swiss Deli, the new complex across the street, etc, I might try it again.

It does not have any of the magnificent amenities of the Marco Polo but I could live without them for a few nights. Big negative is that the 1 & 2 bedrooms both have the bedroom upstairs. The steps were very poorly constructed with twice the normal space between each one. Very easy to slip and get hurt. No way in hell could I ever have my son stay here. Also, furniture in 2 bedroom was functional, but uncomfortable. No furniture besides a queen size bed in efficiency. Still Rose and I enjoyed it and we had a great "fuck session" in the efficiency.

My favorite dining spots in Davao City are Cafe De Ville (Claude's) on Rizal St., Plazs Bistro on 4th Floor of Marco Polo and Continental Club dining room on rooftop of Marco Polo. I have no hangout in Davao City. Need to find a decent place to relax, meet lovely, regular ladies (not pros) and dine. No idea where yet. I tried Swiss Deli this last Trip. No atmosphere at all in restaurant (like some cheap diner). Downstairs wine cellar is nice but no one is there. Even the girl poured my wine from the French Red I ordered and then went upstairs. I was left sitting alone and not even music playing. The one owner has never so much as acknowledged my existence after five years. The other is a bit friendlier, but not much. Both want to talk to German speaking men only.

If I find a decent place, suitable as a hangout (not some dive bar or place filled with ex-pats sitting at outdoor tables smoking), I will post here.

I have been keeping in contact with Davao City, well the beautiful women there anyway (has to count for somethiing). But had the stupid fucking *itch working in the Continental Club completed the receipt and enclosed it in the envelope. I could have shown purchase of a new flight. My error was in failing to open the envelope she handed me and reading the enclosed paper which had nothing at all to do with the flight I had just purchased. NOTHING CAN BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED IN DAVAO CITY.

Less than the cost of 4 nights, discounted rate, at the Marco Polo alone.

I am going to see what a Travel Agent can do for me on my Trip to Hong Kong. This being the # 1 travel destination for filipinos, I bet they have some incredible package deals.

In any event she is back talking to me and IMing me when I am online working at night (day in Davao). She is beautiful and essentially, low maintenance.
