$29 everyday. Sorry.
Does this have to be paid in US $? Is it possible to pay on a credit card?
$29 everyday. Sorry.
Thanks much Dogg.
Shamester, I usually pay in USD when I arrive at SJO. I go out arrivals, cross the street and back up to departures and buy my exit visa then. It's easier this way, I think. One less thing to worry about when leaving.
Does this have to be paid in US $? Is it possible to pay on a credit card?
You can pay in Dollars, Colones or credit cards. Most of my guys go ahead and pay the exit tax when they arrive, so they will get it out of the way. Also, you can pay it at the Sportsmen Lodge for $2 extra but a lot of guys do that as well. Beats standing in line the day you leave. If you arrive anytime other than the early morning redeye, there is usually no waiting. However, if you have an early morning flight, I have seen the line out the door.

If you pay at the airport with a credit (or Visa debit) card, as it is billed as a cash advance and you will be charged a fee and interest by Visa. There is even some small print at the desk advising you of this.
They will let you pay as much as you have in colones and the balance in you $the.

I've been trying to contact Scores. They're email and phone are not working and their site seems to be nearly non-functional. Does anyone know what is happening there and / or a way to contact and make reservations.
Any help is appreciated.

Ecuaduck
Thanks for the great info. Shall go to the Sportsmen to pay my exit fee.
Very strange that a CC payment is charged as a cash advance.
Greetings,
Anybody know how late zona 2 is open? How about Sportsmen's? More precisely Sportsmen's Kitchen.
Got a late arriving flight. Would like to start partying immediately instead of watching tv in the hotel room and waiting till tomorrow.
Thanks.
What is the current charge from the airport to Del Ray Taxi?
Is there a cheaper option?
I only have a small bag and I can take a bus to wherever and then take a taxi.

Will the bus accept dollar or Do I have to pay 500 colones?
Sammon. Good questions. Sorry I should have explained it better. When you exit airport, go back upstairs to the departure area, pay your exit tax in advance ($29) Then head over to BAC San Jose and exchange some money, (551 to the $1) after that, walk back out of the building and turn left and go to the street. Turn Right and you will see the bus stop. When you see the Red and white bus that say's Alajuela on it, ask the driver if he is going to San Jose. If he is and not Alajuela, hop on, give the bus driver colones and take off.
