In the good privês, you choose between from 2 to 10 girls, not so many are really up to my taste, but I only choose one of them, WTF if all the other ones are ugly, And if none of them is up to my taste, I just leave at no cost, but that did not happen much. From my experience, the sessions are at the same level than the ones of the tier 1 termas. The girls in the privês tend to be more 'next door girls', some of them have been more friendly, they have talked more of themselves to me and they gave me their private phone number or their email address, a few of them came to my apartment on week-ends. The girls in the tier 1 termas tend to be more professional and stick to what they have to do. Maybe it is because I am not Brazilian and I try to speak porto. The cost is R$100 for one hour, R$70 for 40 minutes. There are dozens of privês, for example, avenue Rio Branco. 156, there are sometimes 5 privês on the same story. If you go to sala 3320, don't miss the view over the old convent from the 33th story and then ask for Bia!
The girls in the tier 2 termas are more like the girls in the privês, the price is R$140 –R$200 an hour.
Conclusion I think that if you stay in RIO a few days, you can stick to the tier 1 termas, but if you stay a few weeks, then you should take advantage of both. The privês are open daytime and the termas in the afternoon and evening, so you can easily do both on the same day.

I had a friend that was there at Balcony last night and he post some pictures of the girls that was there on his Facebook page many of them didn't look bad.
