After months of planning I'll finally be moving to Bulgaria next month, having decided on settling in Sofia where I'll be renting a furnished apartment.

I've started studying Bulgarian on my own the last few months, but I'm definitely still months away from being conversational, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get by in English as well as some canned Bulgarian phrases for basic tasks. I'm looking forward to seeing how many numbers from Bezplatno I'll need to call before finding someone who speaks English.

Those of you who've tried the services of various girls found on eg. Bezplatno, did you go to their places or did you meet with them in your hotel or apartment? With rumors about theft and burglaries in Bulgaria being somewhat higher than we're used to at least here in Scandinavia, I might be a little hesitant to invite random strangers I've never seen into my apartment. When I've used the services of prostitutes here it's generally been in well established "massage parlors", but it seems like that's not much of an option in Bulgaria (at least it appears that most ads on Bezplatno are from individual freelancers, but perhaps that's deceptive in some cases?).

You are probably on the right track in renting and learning Bulgarian, I am a non Bulgarian and I have hard time communicating, you might just get by speaking English in Bulgaria, Bezplatno is more of miss than a hit, but anyways you might find success, my advice visit them but do not invite them to your apartment let me know how it goes, I am more a guy who goes for big gals, not slim trim gals.

Once again be careful, if your 1st instant says it is not safe to invite follow your instinct. I have been here on off 3 years no success.

Mid-range restourant "Balito" (Pozitano st. No. 50) 150 m away from the mentioned hotel, offers International cuisine for (nearly) nothing! For example : a meal for 2. 2 grilled Trout fishes, fried potatoes and 2 glasses of wine. 10. 90 LV = EUR 5. 50. Wide choise of meats, fishes, Pasta is available.

I've been so busy seeing the city and getting a ton of practical matters in place after moving here, that I haven't had time to try out the pay-to-play scene yet. But I have certainly been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of pretty, beautiful and frequently downright gorgeous girls on the streets. And I'm used to consider the standards in my native Scandinavia rather high in that regard.

With the proper study material and techniques (and I've done my homework in that regard) I generally learn much faster and better on my own than in class room situations, but obviously lots of practice. With the necessary corrections. Is invaluable when learning a language.
