Sportsman Bar prices
Hot Lover,
THe standard ST and LT prices should be THB 2000 / THB 3000. But I know that the girls ask for more early in the night, and go for less late night.
Quality of service - I cannot comment on that, it depends for sure on the chemistry between the customer and the girl. Most of the girls have returning customers, so there are always men for which the quality of service is ok.
Giotto
I've not been back since past Feb but based on my 'limited' knowledge the price variation can be quite extreme. Soi 33 has never been 'cheap.
But, for instance, I know that Duni (just as one of many examples) pays well below the rates mentioned above, and he's obviously a hansum young stud...LOL.
The times I barfined someone, never even discussed pricing with them. Maybe because I've stayed there several times, maybe cuz the mamasan knows I am friends with the owner, or maybe because the first few times I stayed also came back with girl in hand and didn't barfine from Sportsman Bar....whatever? The few times I did, just gave her what I thought was a 'fair price'...if ST was great, B2000, otherwise 1500. LT once for 2500 and she didn't bat an eye (well, she did smile and say came back soon). Usually, had good vibes and GFE type experience.
I do agree that 3700 for ST is high - you can go to Edens and get two for that price (before tips), or Nana or Cowboy and get a 2 for same price. Personally I'd walk away if quoted that but again that is Soi 33.
If you act and/or look like a rookie, it's possible they'll ask for the sky and see what happens. Also, I understand G's got a lot of new horses in his stable now and maybe they're all young hotties. Will have to take a closer look next visit :)

Hi Giotto,
You wrote: "It is NOT our target to market the Sports Lounge with a low-price strategy and make money with quantities. Definitely NO WAY that we ever do that. It works on this price levels very well."
I understand that, but what I was looking at was providing information to enable the ladies to perhaps better target their prices without it costing them or management. As an example, when I checked in, the lady showed me the room, how to use the safe and pointed out the bars - ie a professional induction for guests. Ok, so an extension to that induction process for no cost to the hotel would be to then offer to introduce the customer to the Mamasan/barkeep at the Sports Bar. Such an introduction might be: "This is Mr Rubberyman, he is going to be here for {However many days} and it is his {First/second/.../twentieth} visit to Bangkok. Once armed with that information, the mamasan can let the girls know, and they can strategise their price points. For a first timer to Bkk who is only going to be there for one night, highball the price, for an experienced traveller who is going to be there for a longer time, target the price lower, or be prepared to explain why the customer is paying a premium. I mean this only as an off the top of my head example of how managment might give the girls information that helps them more accurately set a price without compromising guest privacy.
Hi Giotto,
Went to the front desk and asked for 'Mr Giotto'.
*Puzzled stares, frowns of concentration*
"Did you mean Mr Johnson?"
'Um no, I replied, Mr Giotto is the gentleman I am after'.
*More puzzled frowns of concentration*
I write down the words "GIOTTO" on paper.
*Ladies look at each other doubtfully*
*staff lady opens spreadsheet on computer*
I smile and say, 'Perhaps he is here later, thank you very much, do not worry.'
Sind Sie vielleicht ein Gespenst eines ehemaligen Malers, wer jetzt in Pressburg wohnt?
Rubberyman.
Es Lebe Der Koenig!
Rubbery, if I walk into your place of employment, and ask for Mr rubberyman, will the lovely staff point me in your direction?
Same at Livingstone's. Giotto was in fact an Italian painter / architect, who lived in the 13th century, so he is definitaly NOT roaming the halls of the Lodge.

Business!
Giotto, let's get this straight from the start. I know fuck all about business. I have been a man manager, and I supose heve been in the people game for the past 25 years, and two things, sorry, things I have learned are:
1. Be flexible
2. Never say never
3. Never turn down a fuck, as it may be the last one you ever get-OK that isn't really important for this post.
I also know that standards are very important, personal, moral and business, and I hate, when because of political correctness within organisations, I have to compromise my standards to 'tow the party line'.
However there is a saying in English that discretion is the better part of valour. Now in a country like Thailand where the powers that be can just decide to arbitarily [CodeWord140] off every foreigner at short notice ( and take the new computer porn powers for cops), it may be prudent to be flexible and adapt.
Sure, as long as you are pulling in the customers, your girls are happy and getting their elevated wages from their 'work', then everything is great. But when it starts going to shit, which it could do, I would suggest that different strategies are in order.
I don't want to repeat myself, but I couldn't be arsed reviewing my posts, but in Pattaya, a GoGo owner decided to review his BF structure dramatically as well as his drink prices. He has done very well, and has plenty of repeat custom and regular custom as a result. Because it's a small community in Pattaya, others are taking note, apparently, and looking at altering their pricing structures.
With the $US suffering badly against the Bhat, with cheap European destinations like Poland etc becoming more and more popular, punters may start to vote with their feet/plane fares, and decide that ultimately it's not worth paying big bucks for little return.
I'm not saying you are greedy, you have to make a living, and a decent one, but it appears from my readings that punters are getting pissed off with western prices in a third world country.
As I said Giotto, I'm not a business man, but I have seen many business come and go over the years as we all have. There'll always be a place for botique establishments such as yours, but if it becomes a mere hotel rather than a place of holistic enjoyment, then it may be time to start re-thinking strategies.
Personally, I am only spending one night in Bangkok to pretend to myself that I am anything other than a monger. I may be a student, but I have been saving for a fair bit now and will have a fair bit of Bhat to spend, and I will be spending that where I get value for money, Pattaya.
I really do wish you all the best Giotto, I'd like to have my own business and answer to nobody, but I haven't got the bottle or know how, and please take this as advice from someone who votes with their Bhat.
Cheers
Pete
petemcc,
please tell that mrs. giotto :) ! she will ... let's wait and see. imho it is completely impossible to live with thai women and "have no time for that" - they will force you to find the time for that.
giotto
thai girls are smarter than farang girls.
instinct tells them that they want to be the one to get the sperm.
my ex-girlfriend believed that if i wanted to go out without her, then i must perform sexually both before the night out and immediately after.
if the performance was not up to standard there would be hell to pay.
i was obviously cheating if the performance was weak.
unfortunately she knew well that i can only orgasm so many times in the space of a few hours.
once she stopped [CodeWord125] me at least daily, the relationship faded quickly.
i like being raped regularly by my girl. beats waiting for the one time a month my farang ex-wife got horny. she loved me that day and hated me every other day.

Giotto must be getting bored by all the advice on how to run his business, especially all the stuff about competing with Pattaya by trying to attract all the cheap charlies.
If hes not, then I am bored by it.
I think Giotto is likely to want tomaintain a reasonable level of class in his establishment to attract customers like me. We are very impressed by the value for money offered by the Lodge which is hard to beat on Sukhumwit area. The Restaurant was good enough to bring me back regularly.
The girls were also classy enough to bring me back regularly.
The economics of keeping a bevy of attractive girls in the sports bar requires pricing strategies that the boss best understands.
The bargain basement guys will find lower class girls somewhere else (probably not Soi 33). Livingstone Lodge is doing well. Low season is low season.
Lets get to topics vaguely related to oportunities for sex with dream girls.

Nobody is really familiar with the name "Giotto" in here. And I would be surprised if some of our regular staff would know the real Giotto :).
As mentioned many times: If somebody wants to find me here please ask for the Boss.

Giotto should have chosen a more exotic name so everyone would have been too embarassed to utter it, like my name for example.
Hopefully its very obvious I like licking beautiful pussy.
BTW is '1Ball' a pool ball or a bald-head or a special ball attached to the old- fella (pardon my Aussie slang)?
I used to have a mate at school whose nick name was "balls" because he liked ball play, I guess.
Bad luck to the Thai team getting done by Aus 2 nights ago. 4-0 was not a true reflection of the game.
There is too much luck in it.

hey pete....
no flame intended but this is really getting boring and off the topic of getting laid.
we all have our own opinions re how to manage a business. i know for a fact that the peep inn is for sale....want to partner up and buy it so that we can offer a cheaper alternative to livingstone's on soi 33?
imho

Fucking Amen to that.
Enough of the bullshit about discounts, it is not funny, and it is not interesting. Nobody fucking cares.
To all punters who can't afford Livingstone.............
DON'T STAY THERE, AND STOP BOTHERING THE BOSS.

it means you are unfortunate enough to have 2. Girls are fascinated by the whole thing, BTW.

1Ball, as a doctor once said to a friend who contracted an infection in one of them following a hernia operation:
"Two's a luxury, one's a neccesity"
He was back in the theatre next day.

Business Philosophy
Guys,
let's sort it out.
Pete, we had some fun with the discount discussion, and I am responsible for that as well as you are. But really, this is not Pattaya, will not be Pattaya - and btw.: There is a real Pattaya where everybody can travel, and visit those discount bars, discount girls - and whatever else is there.
I run Livingstone's in Soi 33. That is a different thing. I know what I do. Livingstone's is not a Pattaya GoGo Bar, not a beer bar, not a brothel. It is basically a hotel, for business and leasure customers. And there is the Sports Lounge. If you stay in the hotel you don't need to go there. But you can...and you find women there.
That's what it is. And - I like it as it is.
Mr. Vice President, Mr. Marketing Director, I apologize for the confusion. But basically I was responsible for that discussion with Petemcc. It is a very old discussion, with a lot of fun in it - remember the reports when he applied for a job as bar tender.
Sorry.
MiggiLiggi,
Thanks - and YES, a very clear statement, I DO NOT WANT THE CHEAP CHARLIES HERE AT LIVINGSTONE'S!
If you cannot afford this place - there is nothing wrong with you then, it is just a budget problem. Then - please, there are SO MANY places in Bangkok. There really are!
