I got 2 small bottles that usually cost 7 to 10baht, whe it was time to pay the charge was 29 baht for each bottle.
Now I don't know if this was a means so that people don't buy more than they need or just another corporate being greedy? If so they should be ashame of themselves?
LBM
Most likely corporates or shop managers tryin gto be greedy pretending this way they avoid speculations (and so THEY make it) and control the flow of goods through the market: if you don't need you don't buy it at triple the price and if you buy it at triple the price, hard to sell it a 5-6 times the price so you earn your stake.
No doubt THEY make the extsa margin (if somebody buys)
Folks, my tickets are booked from the 14 to the 19 nov and so it the hotel. I would like to take a view from fellow members who are in Pattaya, is worth taking the trip now? Worried about the flooding, and the aftermath! Suggestions are welcome.
I just came back and it was worth it as I got 5 great days of sunshine and lying on the beach and with some beautiful honeys.

It rained heavily late afternoon today but otherwise the weather has been mostly fine and sunny for days. No flooding at all here and the roads to Bangkok are apparently flood free. Don't listen to the panic mongers, just the mongers:D.
I assume that there will be no flooding in Pattaya. Is this correct?
Because Pattaya is on the sea it never gets the kind of sustained, chronic flooding that the Chao Phraya River basin gets. There are a few areas that have drainage problems, so there can be some standing water after a really big rain, but usually for no more than a couple hours.

With about 7 days to kill, I'm thinking about doing 2 days in Bangkok. 3 Pattaya and 2 more in Bangkok unless I really enjoy Pattaya. Let me know if you want to meet up!

You don't get the advantages of Beach Road, but it's a better beach
Awesome! Thank you mate!
NOTHING south of Chonburi is affected by num-dtuam (flood) I just got back to Pattaya from Chantaburi and there was ZERO evidence of flooding ANYWHERE in between. Be advised, though, that many khon Thai have abandoned BKK and gone to other areas. The "lower price" rooms in Pattaya are pretty much gone as near as I can tell. I tend to go native when I'm here and couldn't get into any of my "usual" places. High season started 1 NOV, too, so the prices went up a bit. I'm going home 7 NOV so it doesn't matter much to me anyway..
Come on in - you'll love it. I certainly do!

Bottled water
Do the 7/11s and Foodlands, Big C, etc. Have liters of bottled water for sale?
-
Do the 7/11s and Foodlands, Big C, etc. Have liters of bottled water for sale?
They do have water but a low volume and don't have the big large bottles. Delivery is slow but the 7/11 and shop in the tourist area I heard are getting the most water. Since the other parts of town or non-tourist Thais and Farang have no problem buying their water from the reverse osmosis machines located throughout the neighborhoods. One baht for a small bottle. 4 baht to fill a large bottle the same bottle that cost your 45 baht at 7/11.

I really like Pattaya, but the beach may be one of the worst I have seen in the world.
My experience is that it is dirty, smelly, crowded with tourist families, and has about 10-15 feet of erroding sand.
I can think of nothing good about it, except the pussy on the sidewalk.
