I had paid extra for economy comfort, but sitting next to this guy was no comfort. He was fine when awake, he was very conscious of his size, but when he fell asleep he relaxed and his leg jerked every 30-60 seconds. I had planned on sleeping that leg as we landed at midnight and wanted to hit a FL bar after checking in. No sleep for me unfortunately.

I would have moved but it was a completely full flight.

I don't remember exactly, but there was a problem during the past president's administration with someone being asked and there was an up roar. I have seen extra wide passengers in the past year occupying just regular economy seats. I think that PC is winning out. Actually I saw one break a seat on a long haul flight, though he was complaining the seat did not work. I was in another cabin so could not hear the details except the person behind was move to another seat.

Most parents are good with children. You know you are in trouble when you have a seating like you saw. Or the children are put several rows away. Some parents just don't want to deal with kids and think it is someone else's responsibility or problem. The worst I had was a cross country whereby the parents let their sub 3 cry on their lap the whole 4 hours while the mobile older one kept bouncing around and kicking the seat in front of her. Parents were stoic and did not interact with either kid.

Go figure. Plenty of mothers out there who harm their kids. Been several in the news recently. Like the one who left the daughter in a supermarket.

[/QUOTE]I missed that story but airlines do have policies about overweight passengers. Not sure they care about PC more than profits since they will charge wherever they can make a buck. They are making these seats smaller now but nothing worst than being caught next to the fat guy like Steve Martin did on Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
