Yes I was in Rio a week ago for almost 3 weeks and talked with some of the girls around town and some of the girls that work at L'uomo and even the front desk girls at L'uomo (asking them about the girls I have known over the years) and they told me Ingrid have left the game sometime ago and found and married some dude that took her out of the game and from what I heard is taking good care of her. I noted that too. Many girls are afraid of having their photos posted on the internet.

As you walk out of arrivals, don't let the guys standing at the front call a taxi for you, they will scam you. I asked how much for Copa and they said R$100, I said no and they said R$80. I ignored them and joined the queue waiting for a taxi and it cost me R$45. Make sure they turn the meter on, my experience of yellow cabs is that they are pretty good. The tarrif has gone up but they haven't changed the meter (although the tarrifs went up alst year) so you will pay slightly more than is on the meter. For my ride the meter said R$41 but I got charged just under R$45. They have an offical printed sheet which does the conversion from the metered charge to the actual charge). I know that some people get rides from taxis dropping off at departures, but I have never done this. Also, there is a bus which will take you to Copa for about R$8. I usually take this but the ride is over an hour and this time I wanted to get to the apartment quickly.
Whilst on the topic of travel tips, if you are going to Copa it is worth doing your homework and finding out if you are staying at the top end (near Leme) of th bottom end (near Ipanema) as this will determine the route the taxi takes. To get to the Leme end of Copa you go via Centro and Gloria / Botofogo, to get to the Ipanema end you go via Lagoa. Getting to the Ipanames end via Gloria / Botofogo will cost you more. I've never been scammed by the taxi but it is good to be let the driver know where your hotel / apartment is. And look out at the signs to make sure they go the right way.
THURSDAY (5th Apr)
Thursday night I went to MV30 on the darkside. As it was the last day for the termas before Easter (I. E. Closed on Friday) the place was heaving with men. Maybe 4-5 times as many men as women. Also along with catching a taxi from the departure area on the second level. Most Taxi are aware of us catching them from this area BUT you also want to make sure the Taxi you get in work for a company and has a radio in them. And they use a meter I had to act a fool in the Taxi and I wasn't in Rio not even a hour. LOL LOL
What happen was I told and showed the driver the address and asked how much it would be? Before I put my bags in his Taxi some of my bags was Louie V's. The doorman pull me to the side and said this time of day with traffic it should have been around 50 reals so I wanted to get unpack and check in and later hit some Termas so I told the Taxi driver ok here is 50 reals and this is going to be it! So the Taxi driver took it and was ready to leave UNTIL the Police started asking him for some paperwork and that was when he wrote him a ticket.
That was when the Taxi driver was trying to get the rest of the money for the fare from me the Police told him to take the Ticket and leave because he overheard me and him agreed that I would pay him 50 reals for the fare. After the Taxi driver left the doorman and the Police high five me and laughed and the Police gave me his card and said that if I have any problems to have someone give him a call.
Keep in mind I wasn't in Rio not even 2 hours LOL LOL and this went down. I was hoping that better things were coming and they were.
So bottom line not ONLY make sure these Taxi driver use their meter also check and see if they have a radio and work for a company. Just in case you have any problems.
As far as taking the Bus from the Airport for 12R I just don't want to have to unload my bags off a bus and have Louie Bags on the sidewalk of Brazil trying to flag down a Taxi to my place so I would take one for the team and pay a Taxi from the Airport to my place NOW if I only have one bag maybe things would be different but I was there for 3 weeks and had lots of bags with me..
