Thailand has the weirdest couples
Just heard a story (reliable) about a Tomboy taking on a post-opp ladyboy as a couple. Go figure! I can't fathom it. At least I can't imagine what the sex would be like. Maybe sex is not the important thing in the relationship?
Tips for living cheaply in Thailand.
I rent a room by the month for 8000 Baht plus electricity charge. I use this to work and sleep when here in Bangkok. I have fridge, microwave provided, plus I bought Induction Cooker to use on balcony. It cooks very fast and produces hardly any smoke.
It used to be the case that eating on the street was just as cheap as cooking your own food. This is no longer the case. Mark ups for cooked food start to grow a lot. 15 years ago eating cooked chicken was very cheap (not any more). Today bought 4 raw chicken thighs at supermarket for 47 Baht. A cooked half-chicken was 75 Baht, but that contains the wing and breast that I like less than thigh and leg. A deep fried chicken stand in small market place was selling fried chicken thighs (admittedly a bit larger than those I bought), for 50 Baht eat. Vegetables can still be bought very cheap especially at the market. A whole bag of onions cost 45 Baht.
The reason I like to cook my own food often is that I control the ingredients and can avoid lots of chemical additives, e. G. Sugar and MSG, and unknown suspect cooking oils, and keep salt content low. Looking after my health and weight is important. Can buy an MSG free seasoning in Thailand.
I am still buying some cooked foods, like vegetable soup bags, which are quite cheap at 30 Baht, or when too lazy to cook.
I managed to buy a Guatemala 100% Arabica ground coffee other day on special at 90 Baht for 227 gm. Pack at Tesco-Lotus. Normal price is double that. Stocked up a bit. Obviously imported Italian costs a lot more so I import my own from Italy in a suitcase often. I don't have high quality apparatus, so just make do with making filter coffee at home. Drinking at the local coffee shop is expensive and service is very slow. I prefer to avoid that. Save money for mongering. LOL.
I do eat at the Sports pub sometimes to be able to get a nice lamb roast once in a while. However Lamb costs an arm and a leg here, so it not at all cheap to do that. Can order a small portion. LOL (but I usually don't). Good quality Beef is also very expensive here. So pork is a lot cheaper.
To watch the weight, I avoid a lot of useless carbs type foods, being rice, potatoes, noodles, bread, sweet drinks, orange juice and other overly sweet fruits, etc. , and avoid large meals. It really works well to keep the weight in check. Obviously rice is very cheap but nutrition value is low, capacity to fatten is high. At first I moved to high fibre unpolished rice, then I realised I did not need rice at all. Used to eat Phat Thai noodles, but ready to give that up. It is too sweet. I hate sugar in my savoury dishes.
If I did not spend on woman and sex, I would / could live here very cheaply indeed, at least when not travelling on a holiday. So apparently the only reason not to retire here, is that women/sex is getting too expensive.
History of nudity Gogo bars in Bangkok
When I first arrived in Bangkok unaccompanied, the year was something like 1991 and I was immediately introduced to Soi Cowboy which had topless dancing but no full nudity. For full nudity you had to go to Pat Pong, and I certainly did in those days, especially at lunchtime when bars like Kangaroo or Annies Rose were very low on customers but plenty of girls available to play with (molest or fuck).
A small number of years later Nana Plaza had been developing, and a change in the policing occur. Suddenly full nudity came to Hollywood, Lollipop and Pretty Lady bar and probably a few others, maybe Voodoo? My memory is pretty vague about this so I don't know what year.
Some time later I acquired a GF and all my bar activities came to an end for many years, still sneaking in the odd soapy visit during the day. At some point the rules changed and full nudity died out in the Nana Plaza with or before moral cleansing around 2001 and 2002 (same time as clean out of foreign girls and those too young), so despite odd visits in 2003 and 2004 my interest dropped right off. At some point Lollipop had acquired a mermaid tank for naked girls but this was taken out in 2002. This was the start of the Nana Plaza decline most likely, or was it before that? I first joined the ISG in approx. 2005.
I have read that Suzi Wong had a new opening in 2002 and introduced some exotic shows including the lesbian show. Normal nude dancing may have come somewhat later, not clear which year but certainly by 2006. However I did not discover this till about 2006. By 2006 Long Gun, Raw Hide, and Midnite also had nudity and Long Gun had both dance routine shows like Angel Witch and also Pat Pong like shows. I liked Long Gun except not the Pat Pong type shows. Suzi Wong had nudity and continued its more erotic style shows rather than Pat Pong like shows for the tourists. Doll House had to bring nudity as well and Sheba (Suzi clone) was a big favourite of mine till it closed. Took two girls at a time many times. By 2006 somehow prices had rocketed to up to 1500 for ST where back in 1991 it was 500 for whole night. Not sure what period saw the steepest price rises.
Some of the other cowboy bars like Bacarra had girls with skirts but no knickers. Look up the skirt was never my thing really.
Approx mid 2013 Crazy House opened with full nudity or skirts with no knickers. This was after the Sheba closure end of 2012. For many years I had hardly attended Nana Plaza due to lack of nudity and due to Lots of silicone and perceived lack of GFE girls that really wanted have fun.
Still no full nudity in Nana Plaza, and only a small percentage of girls topless. I cannot tolerate so many girls with thick multi layers of bras on, or where most topless girls have silicones, e. G. Bacarra, or Bangkok Bunnies.
