NEVER EVER pay a bar girl in advance. I've never been asked to do so, but there are many examples where disappointments result. In over 50 years, I've never paid a bar girl in advance and never been asked to do so in Thailand, Cambodia or anywhere. Of course, barfines must be paid in advance, where applicable.

I gave the receptionist $5, and she spoke with the owner on the phone, is not a big place, it has about 10 rooms. I don't know, but maybe is more expensive now, but still way way cheaper than $100/ night where the discussion about this started. I remember clearly that I gave her $200 for 13 or 14 nights.

About the bringing guests in thing: I never had a problem anywhere in the world, just be nice to the staff and you'll be fine. In this hotel, next day was a guy at the reception, and he was there day and night sleeping on the sofa, or maybe were 2 different ones that look similar, I just passed him a few dollars now and then, or when returning from the street I brought him a $1 piece of fried chicken or a fruit from the street vendors, and he always opened the door for me and whoever I was bringing in with a smile on his face, no questions asked.

As I said I'm always nice to the staff everywhere I go, it pays off. To the cleaning ladies, when I see the I also give some money, instead of waiting to leave a tip at the end, I ask for extra towels, or the room to be cleaned right away with no problem. It helps to see them as humans not faceless servants.

They might get a salary of about $150 USD per month. Over about 2 weeks, I tipped some of the doormen that I recognized from previous trips fairly regularly. And the maids $2 per day. Without a doubt they universally are appreciative. Their smiles could light up a city block. I'm not rich, but it's "pocket change" for me and I'm sure for most posters here.

In Angels the BF is 5 k for ST or 6 K for LT (106 $), and include girl payment. The girl told that she be paid the week after. I have had problem with this the only time I get girl from.

I book an hotel for around 30 $ for night. A good ones.

I think than in your you get a discount because you paid cash. I think about if I will extend my journey.

I give very often little tips to cleaner and to reception that check girl document, and tell me sex and age.

I'll be visiting Phnom Penh in late July for a short visit. I need to work remotely and take videoconferences regularly while I'm there. Are there any hotels you recommend that are girls friendly, near the action, and have very strong and reliable Internet?

Also, annoyingly, it looks like I'll arrive at like 6 am on my first day. Sounds like there's not much daytime action available. Are there any bars that open earlier than others?

No problem bringing back girls. I've stayed there many times. Coincidently, the only bar that I know of that is open in the daytime with service providers is 50 feet from the front door. There used to be a few more, but most of them didn't get enough daytime traffic to support daytime opening. There is a facebook group called "Phnom Penh Girly Bars" where you might get some updated info. Any other daytime action would probably be limited to massage joints; I think you'd be lucky to get anything other than a handjob.

You can also deposit the passport, money or valuables in the hotel safe of the reception. Thieves know these days that laptop encryption may make their bounty unmarketable. Top floor has windows, lower floor rooms sometimes dont. If you are there for a few days, treat yourself to a cool room. The girls notice & appreciate it. If you stay longer, other venues than Lux Riverside are cheaper. Leave the company laptop home, then.

No need to brag, but a dollar bill here and there opens doors. Sex means effort and work. If you see someone special who really excites you, spend on the occasion. It is those sessions that you savor for 2 years until you are back. Girls with baby damage, fatties, jaded types etc. Will not get your head cinema going. One more thing about hotels: Travel lightly. These places are famous for switching your cash USD for fakes. You may have already noticed you are not going to get anywhere paying in euros. If you go, only take enough to get the job done and keep your clothes and wallet in sight always.
