I stopped going to BB's because of all the dam rules. Can't stand it for more than a day, but I must admit it is a good start for newbies.
I like free range hunting and I'm assuming you have made some hotel accommodations by now, or you may be SOL, but go to Sosua. I'll be in town July 1-4 to check out things for myself, so wait for my return report, then decide.
What rules are you talking about at BB's?
just now (1 pm local time tuesday) , the approximately 50 employees of merengue bar and disco classico held a protest march through sosúa. they protest against the unjustified closure of the two bars and demand that they can return to work again. according to the spokeswoman of the staff it is not just them but also motoconchos, surrounding restaurants and even the politur depending on the business to make their daily living. in front of the town hall the spokes women held a speech for the local media present.

Slick Willy apparently knows something since he's decided to cash-out.
Here is what I was told by an employee on my New Years visit. The Canadian owner who Willie leased the club from died, and his two sons wanted the club back. Willie told people that he was looking to buy Seacrets and change it into something bigger than Classicos, but I guess the Santo Domingo boys that I heard own Seacrets werent interested. Willie still has some political power and street cred, so he is still a major player in the "New Sosua". Peter (la Passions owner) still is sitting sweet being he is off the beaten path. Armando (Classicos owner) will not go down without a fight, plus he has a reputation as untouchable, which makes this raid so confusing. Rumba (American owners) appears well situated as long as he keeps the sportsman clientelle. Its funny because Rumba started out as an upper class Dominican hangout (Politicians, Buisiness owners, Police) but has downgraded to beer and sports. Also don't forget Armando owns the big hotel overlooking the ocean (Sosua bay or Sosua by the sea I forgot the name) so he has to be respected.
People underestimate the Dominicans. They have done the bait and switch for years, if you need proof look at all stalled developements from Cabarette to Sosua. The Dominicans smile and say'don't worry" as the developers set up shop and start pre sales as they break ground. With it advertised as the best deal in the islands, pre sales are hot. Then after the developer finishes the first structure the Dominicans up the ante. After awhile the developers understand that paying off the Dominicans cuts into the profit margin. So the developers decide to make a stand. Now the Dominicans come with some hidden taxes or better yet have a dead body pop up near the construction site. Sales flatline and investors start walking away from their deposits (nobody wants to buy where bodies or crime exists). The developers financial support has questions and stops funding. The developer says fuck this I'm out, never to be heard from again. Then the Dominicans put a lien on the property and seize it, but don't develope it. Could this applied to the "New Sosua", only time will tell. But don't think the Dominicans are going to give it up for nothing.

Unfortunately, as a newbie to the DR, If I just listen to the reports, I would never go to Sousa be / see it sounds like a stud with a fist full of hundreds could not get laid here right now.
The mood in Sousa seems to be changing by the day, right now. Veteran Sousa mongers see how it is changing, not for the better. Those of us who have never been, can probably still have a great time, not realizing what we are missing. Making a choice between BB and Sousa is not the same now, as it was before. That is why the rookies look to the vets for their knowledge.
I am scheduled to arrive in Sousa in August. Watching the barometer very closely to decide weather to abandon ship and go to BB. I can tell you that I always give back to the forum once I have arrived. Let's keep the update flowing from the members who are in the "battle zone", fighting for our monger rights.
For my curiosity:
What is the best place for mongering pro and non pro girls?
Sosua, Puerto Plata or.... ?
What is the cheapest place for mongering?
In DR is it easy to get anal?
How much money have I to pay to stay with a girl for 3-4 days, in the afternoon and night?
In DR is it easy to find a furnished flat? How much it costs?
In DR is it easy to take money by ATM?
I speak fluent spanish.
I'm sorry for many questios but I like to undestand.
Thanks

Thanks
I am not the best authority on this and expect my fellow mongers to correct me so let me try to help.
Sosua used to be the best place since everything is on a strip. In other words, unless you plan to stay only at Blackbeards, where all the action is onsite, everything in Puerto Plata needs a car so you will need to rent one, or use a taxi. Ditto with Santo Domingo. Boca Chica is the closest to a Sosua like setting (all the action is on one strip) but the quality is lower, more hustlers, and chicas are more aggresive (I will be posting my Boca Chica trip in about a day or two to give you an idea. I was there two weeks so I now have a good perspective of the place.). The cost of chica action I found to be the same or lower.
If you are going to Blackbeards they have a book on what chicas specialize in (sex positions). Just go to the office and tell them you want a chica who does anal. Anal in the DR is viewed as an extra. You pay more for it. Just ask the chica and unless she says otherwise assume that you will not be charged more. If you quoted $1500 short term just remind her of the sum. Sometimes they will not argue while others will ask more for the anal. When they quote more sometimes just saying that you are not interested in her will lead her to accept the $1500 since she does not want to lose the business. I've had more prices lowered for me when I tried to back out of negotiations than with any other tactics. When a chica tries to negotiate too much I simply cut it off since experience has shown me that when such chicas do not get their price they will short change you in the bed (exceptions have always occurred [some of a comical nature! ]).
If you stay with a chica try not to pay over $100 (YMMV). $60 might be fine. When I used to have chicas stay with me a couple of days I ended up paying $1500 a day, and sometimes just a $1000. I have her understand that I will pay for the meals and any trips. They understand this. Somewhere along the way you end up buying them groceries and something for their bambino. I can speak Spanish so I can negotiate.
Paying every day is important since I recall an incident at Europa where the monger promised to pay the chica after the third day and she flipped out on day two since she was not seeing any money and assumed that the monger was using her. She called her chulo and he showed up to the hotel with a knife drawn, which led to the Politur being called, the whole hotel was woken up, and it became a major incident. He ended up paying her and most likely the Politur (since they do not like showing up for free for such things!) When chicas do not see money after a while they assume they will not get paid. I am sure that the monger was going to pay but he was naive of the way things are.
Try Pierros (I hope the spelling is correct) in Sosua. It is a hotel but the rooms are really apartments (furnished flats). From what I recall he was charging less than $60 at the time in question. I would stay there myself and it has been recommended by several of my friends.
It is easy to take money out at an ATM. You will be hit with a surcharge (check with your bank to see if the surcharge is higher on international transactions!) Make sure that the instructions are in Spanish. You will receive pesos.
If your using an ATM try one affiliated with a bank since the DR machines will take in your entire card. One time my friends inserted his card and typed in the wrong pin. The machine kept his card so we had to return the next day to the bank and they pulled out a stack of credit and debit cards eaten up by the machine. My friend asked for the card, which they did have. He did not any I'd so they refused to give it to him (in short, bring a passport or something along these lines as I'd). I negotiated and suggested that they escort him to the ATM and all he had to do is type in the correct pin to verify that this is his card. The lady agreed so he went to the machine, typed in the right number (this time around) , and the card was given to him. Some claim that when the machine takes your card that it is destroyed. If you hear this they could be right but play it safe, assume that they are wrong, and call your bank to close the card and issue you a new card. (Too many cases of mongers vacationing in the DR while their debit and credit cards are being used by some stranger in Washington Heights!)
When going to another country it is always important to inform your bank of this since many cards are set to lock you out on international transactions, or when you reach a certain limit. This happened to me on my first trip so I changed banks and explained the situation to the new bank. Also, have a second card at hand just in case your first card does not work (on my first trip I had two other credit cards so I went to the bank to withdraw money, in pesos. I do not recommend this since the interest rate [at the time anyway] was pretty high (not counting the surcharges). If you use ATMs after the banks are closed and find that all ATMs are locking you out wait until after midnight and try again.
Finally, you'll go a long way with speaking Spanish.
I hope all this helps.
Boriman,
Thanks for your wonderful reply.
A last question please. When will I arrite at Santo Domingo airport from Europe, will I have to take a bus or taxy to Sosua? How much it costs?
Does Pierros have a kitchen for cooking some quick food?

Does Pierros have a kitchen for cooking some quick food?
It would be easier if you arrived in Puerto Plata (POP) and paid about $20 for a taxi into Sosua. That said, I read on DR1 about it being $100 but I faintly recall it being about $75. Also, check the website for Caribe Tours. It is a big Greyhound that can fit all your luggage and take you from Santo Domingo to Sosua. You can then take a taxi (for about 100-200 pesos) to Pierros. You can also contact the owner, after making reservations, to see if he would pick you up at the Caribe Tour bus stop and take you for free to Pieros. (He has kindly done this for other mongers and as recently as last week one of my buddies stayed there and this courtesy was extended to him!)
Check also Metro Tours out to see if they have the same service (I would recommend Caribe over Metro)
Yes, Pierro's is a full functioning apartment, with cooking but when you contact them ask the hotel this question since I do not know if all the rooms are equipped in this way. Also, even if they have stoves some of them might not be working (or connected to the gas tank) so if you are given one where this is the case you can always say that you requested cooking for your room from the very beginning. I say this since I stayed at Costa Lunga and they did advertise a restaurant (but it was closed up a while back). This was no big deal since all they needed to do was update their website (I would stay at CostaLunga again since they are a very good hotel!). Also, I, like many of my fellow mongers, have been in hotels with broken down equipment. I've visited friends who stayed at Piero's and when something broke down they immediately went to the room to fix it. I guess as long as it happens in the daytime when the maintenance guy is around you should have no problem. In other words, when you first arrive to the room try all the equipment out (remote control, stoves, etc), to make sure that everything works.
There is a trick with turning on the bedroom light and I believe they also have a remote. Make sure you ask the guy about this. Also, I do not know if all the rooms are this way but the one my friend had had two bedrooms. He used one to put his clothing and personal belongings in. Ask the owner if there is a key to keep this room closed since whenever you have guests over you do not have to worry about clothes and other items being stolen. Again, this experience is based on the room my friend had. I do not know if all the rooms are equally equipped.

If you goto the website for Rocky's Blues Bar (google) it has links to these and other condos that the Owner of Rocky's, Rick, manages. The Sosua Suite condos are closer to the "Strip" on PC, and also closer to the main beach in Sosua. These condo's are newly remodeled and very nicely priced. The pricing structure varies depending on how long you stay. Averages to around $40 / day, which is a GREAT bargain for the location and amenities.
Piero's is very nice and is closer to La Passions. I've seen the rooms and had friends staying there and enjoyed their stay. But for the location I'd choose Sosua Suites. 1 minute walk to the STrip, clubs, restaurants.
Just another great option. I just returned from Sosua and had a blast.
Well, I just returned from a 2 week visit to the DR. I had a great time! Needed a few days to recuperate and let all my memories set in so I could finally get to my TR.
I started my trip in Sosua and ended at Blackbeards. I was in the DR for a total of 12 days.
My 1st Trip to the DR was in January and I had a blast. I met many people and a few I kept in contact with. Within my 1st week back I was already thinking on when can I get back. My job gives me the flexibility to take a vacation every 3-4 months, so knowing this I booked my return trip during this 1st week back. I kept in contact with 3 of the guys I met, and they also were able to swing a return visit during this time, so it was ON!
Note-I had a camera and took pics, BUT somewhere along the way during the Sosua / BB transfer or maybe before it went MIA, so Lost pics of Sosua.
My Jan. Trip started at BB's and ended with a short 3 day 2 night visit to Sosua, so this trip I switched it up and started in Sosua for 5days / 4nights and ended at BB's for 7. I had booked my hotel room at the Terra Linda (TL) hotel, which I had walked through on my initial visit and liked it a lot. 1 of my wingmen had stayed at NG hotel in January and previous visits and told me that it was like a frat party atmosphere, and alot louder than he remembered, so I chose the TL for it's quieter atmosphere. And boy I'm glad I did. I got a great rate which included a King Bed and breakfast. My 3 wingmen also stayed here. Throughout my stay I encountered several families w / children and other guys "like us". Everyone seemed to respect each others privacy and it was a very relaxed place. The TL has a great pool, which was hardly used, my entire time there. I could go down and swim by myself, practically anytime during the day.
Day 1.
I live 6 time zones away, so I began my journey on Thursday Morning at 7am with layovers in SFO, EWR, and finally arrived at POP Friday@1pm. My pre-arranged pick-up through TL was outside door with a sign with my name and hotel on it. I live in a nice tropical area, but due to the Tradewinds the humidity is bearable with little to none. Stepping outside to upper 80's and 100% humidity my sweat pores opened up like Niagara Falls. Need to mention me and humidity DON'T Mix. Arrived at TL 15 minutes later and check in was quick and efficient. A check in drink was provided and my luggage was taken to my 2nd floor room.
The King room was large, spacious, with a balcony overlooking the pool. Furniture was minimal with a table. 2chairs, dresser with mirror, and small fridge. The safe provided was Key access. Bathroom had towels, and a walk in shower.
I went down to pool bar and ordered a beer. 1 of my wingmen flew in a few days earlier and he met me at the bar, while we were waiting on another wingman to get there on a later flight. Shot the breeze for a while. Some other Board Members (BM) from another site that I had been in contact with that had been coming in over the next past few days had met my wingman already there, so I knew that this could be an epic Trip. The 3rd amigo arrived and we had a few more beers, then decided to check out PC.
The 3rd amigo had never been to Sosua so we gave him a tour of all the hotspots, clubs, restaurants, and the overall PC street. Stopped in CMP to look at there line-up and found a chica that was perfect for me to lose my "Nuisance nut". Paid the ST fee, which I cannot remember and she led me to a room in the back. They must be remodeling as there was alot of sawing / cutting, banging going on. We both showered and made our way to the bed where she started with a nice BBBJ, continuing on to CG, Missionary, and finally ending in DS where I was completely drained. Overall good session and the oom was pretty nice for a ST room. I cannot remember her name but she was prob 5'2 105-110 with light skin and black hair. Mission 1 complete (the Nuisance Nut).
Made our way over to La Passions to check out the lineup. Around 15-20 gals around, with a few cuties. 1 gal "Carol" who, is small with a great body and Beautiful face came over to me to start her selling points. I was interested in Take out for the night. She asked me if I knew the menu, which I did, but still brought 1 over. I said I wanted to TLN her, but she came back with,"are you sure you don't want something shorter" so I immediately stopped all negotiations as I knew it was probably a no-go. We just checked out the ladies for a while, chatting with the ladies, but ultimately decided to leave empty handed.
Left to go back to hotel to shower and rest before dinner / Dancing / etc. I told my wingmen I needed a quick nap due to the travel / time change, but I would meet them at 8. Next thing I know my phone is ringing and its my wingmen. AND IT is 10pm. WTF! Quick shower, dress and meet them at Jolly Roger's, a nice little restaurant Bar on the strip. Have a few drinks and we make our way to Winner's Circle (WC) bar. For those that do not know, the bar is on the corner and has a great View of the Merengue bar / Classico's entrance. It's just a nice place to sit and scope out the chicas. The Bartenders there are also great looking and very friendly. 1 in particular caught my eye.
Some BM from other boards that I have been in contact with were coming in, but I had not expected them til Sat, But walking into WC I notice 1 guy I immediately recognized. Introduced myself and it seemed like we were already friends. He had taken an earlier flight and wanted to surprise everyone. Since I post TR's from all my travels and they do to, Reading and looking at the pics really helps you get to know people and is already the icebreaker. Some other people I met on my initial trip came in throughout the night and the party had begun. Drinks were flowing, people were laughing, and flirting was rampant. Few chicas around, and the Hot bartenders seemed game. I connected with 1 and we chatted, flirted throughout the evening. 1 thing led to another and ended up with her agreeing to meet me when she got off, BUT would be around 3-4 am. I said I would meet her back here and got her number. BUT.
After a while we decided to head to Latinos. Made our way there, and since some of the guys I met Live there, we were immediately excorted to the VIP are. Couches, chairs, roped off, security. Cool relax time. Chicas were vying for our attention. There were alot of single chicas in there and alot of them very sexy!
I found 1 I liked and she came in and we made our hellos. She had long brown hair, Nice tight body, abs of steel. Big booty. Just my type. Dranks and grinded on each other most of the night. Decided to TLN. $2000 was price and I was OK with that.
Another friend came up to me and told me the Bartender at WC had asked him to tell me to come back and get her. This Chica was Hot too! Black Shoulder length hair nice body and big round Bunda, I felt guilty that I had gotten in this predicament, But Hey I'm on vacation, and I had to make decision. Ultimately decided to go with chica I Had and I would take my chances and talk to the bartender the next night, if she still was speaking to me. Retired to TL. From what I remember on my 1st drunken night, we had a great session and I passed the fuck out! To Be Continued (tbc)
