He's been on my ignore list for months but still sometimes hatemail slips through. And of course when people react with a quote his postings still come through.

The uplifting side of this brief episode is that this forum sees his posts now and then, but he has to live with his own nasty character 24/7. ;-)

Well while it looks like my colleagues here are involved in a about of keyboard warfare, I thought I would slip on over to Malioboro and see what the fuss was all about.

For those who don't already know, this is one of those iconic Jakarta establishments that cater to those of us who punt. Most of these mainstream joints seem to have a formula for dealing with Bules where the subtle hassle and push starts early. Malioboro was no different. My first goal whenever I go somewhere new is to try to appear nonchalant but its pretty difficult for bules in a place for first time to do this. Management seem to smell this.
