Aurora del Sol Hotel has a casino and two bars. It is in zona oriental, on carretera mella, santo domingo este, local crowd, that area at night is usually not visited by many tourists.

Gotik was the name of the place in the Hispaniola Hotel and Casino (Avenida Lincoln and Avenida Independencia). I visited years ago when it was called LED, higher end young crowd on the weekend, a professional mature crowd on the Thursday night, I visited.

The bars in Plaza Uris (Sinatra, Vie, Zambra, Shots and maybe one other, all lined up one after another), on Avenida Roberto Pastoriza between avenida lincoln and avenida tiradentes (one block north of avenida independencia). Good neighborhood, good security, you will see expensive cars parked in the lot in front of the bars. The times I visited, mostly a well off crowd in their 20's. Bufeo.com is a site on the internet where you can see photos taken at events and bars in the DR.

During the day, if you stay at a hotel with a pool or a gym, you could swim or lounge at the pool or do a workout at the gym. On a future trip I will try the Hotel Plaza Naco, which has large newly refurbished rooms, in a good neighborhood. Anyone who stays at the Hotel Plaza Naco can use the gym at the Body Shop Athletic Club ([url]http://www.clubbodyshop.com/app/new/bsnaco.aspx[/url]) which is a few blocks from the hotel. I have driven by this gym, but not been inside yet. I need to remember to pack a pair of sneakers (athletic shoes, trainers) to use at the gym. The body shop athletic gym in naco supposedly has a good size pool and boxing apparatus.

If you meet chicas online or know chicas from prior trips, invite them to visit your hotel to use the pool or jacuzzi, or take them to a mall.

Plaza Guibia on the malecon near maximo gomez gets a crowd of people some nights.

If you like certain music, you could look for a concert and invite a chica.

It also doesn't help that I drink lots of Brugal there. I've met women in malls, waitresses, and other places. I don't really do clubs, even in the States, so my spots are sports bars and pool spots with music. I can meet a chica, take her out to eat, and just vibe with her over a game of pool or drinks. That's what works for me, and so far I've only had a couple of duds.

I was in DR for a few days, I did a short casa run, and got a few updates:

GBP is still 1000rd for 1 and 1500rd for 2 but presidentes are 200rd. They remodeled and cut the rooms in 3 or 4.

Pastuer :

Hotel venezia has the most girls and also the best looking. Starts at 3500rd but you can negotiate it down a bit

Sky high starts at 3500rd but I didn't see many girls.

Satin dolls starts at 4000rd and they all have attitudes

Girls house is ok, it starts at 3500rd.

The girls on calle conde are rough looking.

I went to "Pure" and lots of hot chics but there are either with their guy or none working girls, it felt like a normal bar / club.
