First time visiting the Shanghai forums, good day to you all. First time visiting and having read quite a bit of the forums and other searching. I had a difficult time deciding what to go for. One promising lead for me was the massage saunas and this site had some good reviews on them.
However there doesn't seem to be much discussions here on these saunas and if they're legit (except recent post down about the Ming Hui one). Can anyone chime in if the site is legit and the places are real and not LE traps?
As well, how's the recent LE crackdown, still going on or a bit more relaxed now? Looking for avoid trouble when possible.

We are all in New Jersey and have never been to shanghai. Of course this site tells the best info around for free!
The massage parlors mentioned here are as described.

There are actually quite a few sauna reviews if you actually take a look. In past months I've reviewed a few myself. Search, pick what you want and go for it. Then let us all know how it went. I think it's always good to hear a new perspective.

So I tried out this foot reflexology place next to the Novotel hotel in Pudong, based on Grimmy23's review. The front desk guy showed me a menu book (no kidding!) and I picked out the "Royal all body massage" as recommended, for 380 quid. Showered, changed into Kung fu clothes, and was led to a room. Asked the girl what her number was, she said #18, jackpot! She was okay looking, no ass or tits, but I figured she had impressed Grimmy, so must be good at what she does. She proceeded to give what I can only describe as a very hard massage, but I figured I would wait it out until the real fun began. About 30 minutes in, she motions me to go doggie style on the massage table. Well, that's a first, but I go with the flow anyway. She proceeds to stroke the frank and beans. All good so far. Then comes the flip. She starts stroking the general, faster and faster. I ask her to slow down, no effect. I pull her hands off and say slow, okay she says. Back to jackhammer mode in 30 secs. Slow I say, nothing. I figure if she wants to get me off before the first half is up, might as well do it with her mouth. "No mouth, only hand". I'm thinking you sucked Grimmy's jewels, WTF. No thanks, just do the massage. 2 min later she is back working my shaft. Do mouth or do massage, she says just massage. Puts her bra and shirt back on promptly. I am back in the U.S. but made a couple stops to Judy's when I was there. If you want to spend 1500, you can get almost any girl there. The 10's know who they are and ask stupid money like 3000 but would probably go 1500-2000.
These prices were Saturday night both times. I bet they would be cheaper mid week but cant imagine how low.

There seems to be a lot of interest in this place recently, and I've made it far enough in my to-do list to finally get there. I arranged access via Keke, however turned out she wasn't there when I arrived (before 6 pm on Thursday). They seemed fairly surprised to see a laowei, but the early hour may have also been a factor.
This is by far the nicest sauna I've been to. It's clearly brand new and very clean. Now, this place is way on the expensive side (lowest rate of 1100 rmb with pre-arranged discount) - but I challenge anyone to not be satisfied with the "be" level selection. By far the best I've seen. One really cool thing they do is separate the 3 levels of girls, so you clearly know what you're looking at. Note: I was there early enough that I didn't experience the "stampede" - not sure how I'd feel about it.
I chose 511, I mention this only because I experienced the worst case of false advertising I've seen. Her rack went from a see to A the moment she undressed. However she was a very nice girl with a great sense of humor (just wish my Chinese was better). The wet massage is not a true nuru, she used a lotion (the only place I've seen the gel used is Dong sen).
Funny side note; the people working the front desk are dressed in sport / sweat suits you'd expect in a USA Health club.
Only real complaint is she used scented soap. Places really need to understand how problematic this can be. Will I return, probably. When I'm out to impress someone. Otherwise it pretty expensive.

Posting late, but a few weeks back I spent three nights in Shanghai and had a few adventures. Just reading SamCan's post right below reminds me I missed out on Judy's. Actually I don't think I've ever made it there as I always hit Manhattan first and never seem to get further than that! This trip was no exception, as the first night I was chosen by a very lovely Vietnamese girl named Mon who was 1500 GFE overnight, and she was VERY GFE. We really clicked, so that was a great experience. It doesn't always work at every bar, but at Manhattan due to the sheer number of ladies, I've learned to let them chose me; that's worked out pretty well to weed out the non-performers. I just chill by the bar, smile at everyone, and try to avoid too much eye contact with girls who don't tickle my fancy. Sooner or later, the magic happens and I've got a friend to talk to, and from there I chat them up to get a feel for compatibility, etc. It's a strategy that's served me well, including the next night when I met a Chinese girl from Qingdao.

I really wasn't into her or the sex AT ALL, and couldn't finish fast enough, but finish I did and that was that. As I mentioned I don't want to disparage her because she's pretty and service was great, but just not my type. If you're into her body type, I'm sure you'd have a lovely time. Note ZERO English though, which was another slight problem for me.
Anyway, good trip. Overall I really don't like Shanhghai very much compared to some other cities I've visited in China; something about the city itself. I just don't like the vibe. However I do love Manhattan Bar, and I always manage to have a good time.

Went to Bodi this afternoon. Two police motorcycles were right outside the entrance and two cops were standing around awkwardly. Not sure why. Didn't look like a good sign.
Does anyone know anything about this?
I do not know what you saw meant, but I would think if that was a raid, there would be more than a couple of police motorcycles and a few cops present. (There would be police wagons for people they arrested.) I do hope that there will not be bad weather in Shanghai, and if there is anything, just a brief passing storm.
