I monger on a budget. The ride in a cab from Santiago is about 80 bucks. Same ride on a comfortable bus is 7 bucks. Takes almost the same time. Renting a car in Sd is a pain. To much to worry about parking some, one hitting you, being stopped by policia. Every cab driver is anxious to buddy up with you. Get a DR phone they will give you their number and you have a driver. Most will give great service because they went that airport fare at the end of your trip. This stuff is not hard do not make it complicated. Drivers also have insite on the local scene. They know you wants chicas. They will go out of their way to show you what you want. A happy customer is money in their pocket. This post is for showdown not Chris. Chris you have game. Showdown you need to study a bit or you will get played. The sharks can smell a newbie and will chew you up. You have to act like you know what you want and have a clue. The hustlers will try you. There is plenty of info on this site. Take some time and study it will save your ass. Boca chica is full of scam artist so watch your own ass.(read Much)

Do the car rental places accept a debit card?[/QUOTE]Santo Domingo to Boca Chica or Santiago to Boca Chica? Minibus from santo domingo to boca chica is probably around 100 pesos each way ($2US-$3US). They run regularly throughout the day, with the last bus leaving for boca chica sometime in the evening. Information on taking the bus back to santo domingo has been posted before.

Boca Chica is relatively small, you can walk around or if you want, hop on the back of a motorcycle taxi (motoconcho) and pay him a few dollars to show you the venues. A private taxi each way from Santo Domingo to Boca Chica, will probably cost at least $25US each way, probably more.

There are 3-4 rental car companies on avenida independencia close to the Marriott Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino (also close to what will once again be called a Sheraton Hotel, the former Melia Hotel, where Pure disco is located).

You might be able to use a debit card with some car rental companies (they will probably put about a $1000 hold on the card). I have used Alamo / National more than 20 times for renting a car in the DR and had no problems. Without a credit card you will most likely be required to pay for loss / damage insurance (which costs about $20US per day at alamo / national).

There is one toll when heading to boca chica from santo domingo, cost is 30 pesos, workers at the toll plaza will give you change for small denomination paper money. If you drive, it is a good idea to keep loose change in the car.

From Santiago, I would take the bus into santo domingo, or rent a car in santiago.

I've taken the bus from Sosua to Santiago but never from Santiago to Boca Chica. I spoke with Fabio this morning about picking you up and taking you to Boca Chica and he said no problem. Bare in mind when you are dealing with drivers you are dealing with a barrol of snakes hes probably just as good as any other snake out of the barrol. I've been using him because I'm new to the Santo Domingo scene and don't know my way around yet. I've done my research and I know what prices are at the various casas. So I always mention this to him before he takes me any where letting him know that I am not going to pay extra as a commision for him. He gets the taxi fare and thats it. Any way hes eager for business and wanted me to post his number. So with his permission I am going to post his number here in case you want to contact him. 809 488 8240 Number posted with his permission.

Hes also been bringing me girls as well, they haven't been bad but its 2500 pesos for the girl and 1000 for him. Hes probably ripping me off, not sure but its the same as I would pay if I went to one of the casas.

There are decent SW all over SD that can be had from 1000 to 2000 pesos. On my last trip I Had 2 awesome SW who had repeat service with me. I personally do not like casas and for the price I can bang 3 decent SWs. Grands (eatery on) El Conde has a few hotties all day long who will worjk for 1000 and there are other locals where you can find willing women. SD is also a great place to hook up with your internet sweeties. Hooking up with a non pro or a semi pro is way more fun then putas trust me. DFK and DTTY is no go for me with pros if I know it is a pro. LOL I had a guy who drove for me many times. He drove an old GF from SD to Sosua with out asking me and wanted me to pay. I was furious and he was self righteous. He wanted 200 dollars I was incredulous. I gave him a 100 and a piece of my mine. My spanish was amazing when I was pissed. The chica and he were on the outs with me. So like Chris says they will take a shot at your pocket if they can. I had known this guy for 2 years and thought we were tight.

He is ok as far as drivers go, as I said when you are dealing with drivers in Santo Domingo you are dealing with a barrol of snakes hes probably just as good as any as long as you let him know that you know the ropes and you know what things cost he won't try to take advantage of you. He also has a stable of attractive young 18 to 19 year olds he can bring over for you but its a little expensive 2500 for the girl and he says its 1000 for the taxi ride to and from for the girls, but I will say I've been very pleased with the looks and the services from the girls hes brought me. They usualy stay a couple hours and I've always gotten two shots from them.

Have not been to SD in several years, but when I had; stayed at the Europa, Mercure and the old Santo Domongo Hotel and Casino, which all were, but then again, I was dating a regular several years ago. What's the latest, oh, also stayed at the Raizor, which was g / f ok. Prefer the El Conde and / or Malecon areas!

I was bringing in four or five girls a day and not a word was sead, they just have to leave there I'd at the front desk. Its not on El Conde but within walking distance of both the Conde and the Malecon close to the casino, the casas and SW and its in a very nice neghborhood. Marriott Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino on the malecon is guest friendly, if you give the names of the women who will be visiting you, at the time of check in. Some guys have been successful in getting in pros into the tower section rooms of this hotel, without being stopped by security (usually in the daytime, hotel security is more lenient). I stayed at the garden section one time at the Jaragua Hotel and Casino and security would not allow me to enter with any guests, daytime or nighttime.

ISG member Mardonius has entered, with discreetly dressed pros, at the Nicholas Ovando Hotel in zona colonial. Some guys say the hotel conde de penalbe is guest friendly (zona colonial). Hotel Palacio in zona colonial is guest friendly. Supposedly the two Roma hotels in zona colonial are guest friendly.

Jaguar Hotel is guest friendly, located about two blocks behind the Marriott Jaragua Hotel and Casino. Jaguar is about three blocks from the Malecon. Hotel Riazor has refurbished some or all of their rooms, it is guest friendly, located behind the Jaragua Hotel and Casino and about 1 block from the malecon. Half a block from the Malecon and about 300 feet from the Intercontinental Hotel and Casino is the Maison Gautreaux (I have stayed there over 10 times, priced around $50US per night), good A/C, good security (the owner has a private security company and his guards can be seen outside the Hotel Riazor and Hotel Conde de Penalbe).

On Calle Danea about 3-4 blocks from the Malecon and about 6 blocks from Zona Colonial there are a group of small hotels, seems most are guest friendly. Revere stayed at one hotel on calle danae in the past (I forget the name). Some SWs on Calle Danae at night.

Popular among many mongers is the Hotel La Morada, priced around $50US per night, about 4-5 blocks from the Malecon and maybe about 8 blocks from the zona colonial. [url]http://www.hotellamorada.com/[/url]

A new place I watched being built is the Hotel Shakey, which seems to have apartments with kitchens. Some have a view of the Sea and the pool deck of the Intercontinental Hotel and Casino (some women go topless or wear small bikinis at the Intercontinental pool). Avenida Pasteur and the Malecon, up the block are 4 casas and around the corner is 305. Weekend rates are usually much cheaper at the big hotels in santo domingo.

Took a 45 min ride from Santo Domingo to the beach resort of Juan Dolio which about 15 mins on from the less civilized Boca Chica. We amused by billboard advertising Vanessa Club as 20 lovely girls and 2 ugly ones. 2 pm to 5am, so had to visit. Nothing much going on after lunch but she promised 15 girls for later that night. We had a tour from Vanessa who said she owned the place which included a pool table a long bar and very cool places to lounge around, ok bedrooms but bathrooms more in the Mexican bordello style. I told her that if there weren't 15 chica's on display I would have her as a penalty, to which she said she wasn't married. This girl has chutzpah. Needless to say Juan Dolio is too long a schlep from SD in the middle of the night so we failed to pitch up but did so a couple of days later and this time rang ahead.
