Dear All,
I will be staying in pattaya on 24-25 Dec. Due to budget constraints, I will mainly focus on the freelancers on the beach Road.
Is it better to take a hostel and rent room on suggestion of the girl for ST or take a hotel room and sneak her in?
Thanks.
Short time room near Beach Road named Love Inn on Soi 13/2 is 250 a session for short time. I do not recommend violating the rules where you stay unless you are prepared to deal with the repercussions of doing that.

Hotels for exhibitionism and showing girl
I've got a weekend coming up with a fwb and looking for the best hotel to embarrass / show her publicly. Only constraint is "not too crowded, like less than 7-8 people watching at a time". Seeking recommendations for:
1. Hotels with shared pools offering such levels of crowd.
2. Girly bars not too crowded where I can take her commando in a short skirt.
3. Night clubs for her to wear next to nothing.
4. Day time pool / foam parties.
Budget isn't any constraint.

Lido beach hotel
Hi.
This will be my first time in Pattaya.
I generally like freelancers vs club gals. So I am planning to stay at Lido beach hotel which is easy access to freelancers on beach Road plus be able to easily go to walking street.
Any feedback about Lido beach hotel. Any reason to NOT stay there?
If you have coin, View Talay 6 is my hands down favorites. All of my friends that did not take my advice regretted it.
I 100% agree on this, and would definitely buy a unit if I was in position to do so. The units / rooms are huge, the location is unbeatable, and they have endless services on the 3rd floor (massage, market, restaurant, dry cleaning, ATM).
They have airbnbs from owners but they're always booked. They also have listings on booking.com.
Avani Pattaya is my second favorite, but yes as far as condos go, this one is the best. IMO.
Unfortinately, multiple WGs have said it is the “#1 for expat balcony jumping” so it no surprise many of the terraces have nets.

Hi guys,
How is the Base Infinity Apartment from Air BnB.

The Cmdr shares intel on View Talay 6
View Talay 6
Rooms range from 4700 - 1400/night (High season) from Dancewatchers.
The longer your rent the lower the price per night that you pay. But their rooms are very popular and if you do not make reservations before high season your options may be limited.
Choose the deluxe cleaning package if you want your room cleaned spotless 5 days a week. The crew that cleans your room are top notch consummate professionals and they are very good at what they do.
I left them 500/ week per cleaning tech plus a lady drink.
They have a excellent website and their pictures are accurate. I have been in four different rooms that they offer in View Talay 6.
They also offer rooms in View Talay 5, View Talay 2, View Talay 1, but all of these buildings are located in Jomtien and I know nothing about them.
https://www.dancewatchers.com/
*all prices in THB.
All that you said is true. But if you rent the units that are part of the DanceWatchers organization in View Talay 6 things are different. I know the owner personally. He has standards that are requirements for upgrades of the rooms that the organization manages. So, if an owner will not meet the standards of the organization their unit will be dropped from the management program. I cannot vouch for the rooms rented by other room managers.
I met several girls from TF who lived there.

ST room (not in a bar) near Soi 6
Does anyone know of a ST room (can be a hotel that will allow ST) in the surroundings of Soi 6?
Not in a bar, not in a hotel that requires checking in / out and charging full overnight prices.
I want something simple that I could just use for like 2-3 hours with a girl and minimum hassle.
Thanks in advance.
-
Akara pattaya or Amari pattaya
Are any of these hotels green?
I stayed in Amari Pattaya last time but did not bring any girls to the hotel, it seemed like a completely family oriented one.
Thinking about Akara Pattaya this time but they have not replied to my emails about their policy yet.
Any experience here, please share.
Thanks!!

Amethyst
I stayed at the Amethyst. It is a very nice hotel, albeit a little pricey. It is near a lot of the action, if that is what you are looking for. Not much need for taxis or Bolt.
There is a no smoking policy but most rooms seemed to have a bakcony (mine had an ashtray on it). There is a marijuana store across the street from the hotel.
100 percent guest friendly without a fee. The girl needs to leave her ID at the reception and they call you when she picks it up to leave the hotel to be certain she isn't sneaking out with stolen goods.
In summary, the hotel was perfect for my needs.

Just pay the bar for the room, take the girl up, do your thing, then bounce. The ST rate for the girl will be cheaper too because she never leaves the bar.
Hotels to Stay Near Soi 6
If your vacation will revolve around Soi 6, staying nearby is convenient. Here are some recommendations:
1. Sea Me Spring Too Hotel, Location: A 5-minute walk from Soi 6. , Price: $40-$60 per night, Why Choose: Modern rooms, rooftop pool, guest-friendly.
2. Pattaya Blue Sky Hotel, Location: Close to Soi 6, but quieter for better sleep. Price: $30-$50 per night. Why Choose: Affordable, clean, guest-friendly with great reviews.
3. Sabai Wing Hotel, Location: A short walk from Soi 6, Price: $35-$60 per night. Why Choose: Mid-range, good amenities, and guest-friendly.
4. The Siam Guesthouse, Location: On Soi 6, Price: $20-$30 per night. Why Choose: Budget-friendly, right in the heart of the action.
I'll add 2 hotels near Soi 6 on the other side of 2nd road. Most forget to search there so you'll find better rates. If you're on a budget Centara Pattaya Hotel about a 3 minute walk to Soi 6 at 40 USD. Altera Hotel and Residence 4 star hotel about a 4 minute walk at 70-80 USD but for a 45+ sqm room.
I've never stayed at Altera but it does look nice for the price.

The Altera is indeed nice. I have stayed there a couple of times.
The downside of staying here though is, that you have to walk for about 8 minutes if you want to catch a baht bus at Beach Road.

Breaking Hotel News!
Jomtien Thani Hotel
A hotel that is still under construction but is very close to being finished. I peeped it this morning while out running errands. This could be a four or five star hotel gentlemen. Just walking into the lobby and to the desk I was greeted by no less than five different employees who could all speak perfect English. On Soi 5 between Jomtien Beach Road and 2nd Road, it is located in a great spot. You can catch the Baht Bus to it off of either of the main streets I named above and it is close to walking distance of everything that I think is great in Jomtien. While still under construction they are offering some great deals on rooms. They call them their pre-construction specials.
Example
1500 THB / night for Regular room.
1700 THB / night for Deluxe Ocean View Room.
But this is a limited time offer. The above rates only apply until February 28,2025.

Hotel rates Summer 2025
I'm planning for a trip this summer for the last week of July. I was in Pattaya last summer at roughly the same time. I stayed at the Baraquda. When I checked rates today, I saw that rates were roughly 2 x what I paid last year. Have hotel rates gone up that much in a year, or am I trying to book too soon? Last year I booked in mid June for a late July trip.

No Guests At Jomtein Thai Hotel
Just an FYI, you may have no guests at this hotel. They will charge you 800 BHT.
Its not mentioned on their website, but, then they tell you its a property policy.
They are quite brutal about the whole thing, standing in the way of your guest as you both try to enter the elevator.
Do not recommend this property. Imagine if you had family or freinds visiting and they want 800 BHT each. I was pissed and checked out the same day. So many other places to go.

Pattaya Newbie
Hoping some of you experts can help me. I've been to Bangkok a number of times but a newbie to Pattaya. I've just started watching some videos but still very much a newbie when it comes to Pattaya. Normally in Bangkok I go for gogo bars in nana or cowboy, and massages. I don't drink and have never really tried the bar scene like I've seen on the soi 6 videos. I could really use a hotel recommendation in Pattaya. Going in early May, mostly interested in the girls (of course). Looking to spend up to $150 a night, hoperfully walking distance to the night scene. Any help would be appreciated.

There are a half dozen posts by me an others detailing this particular location. I recommend that you book you room through https://www.dancewatchers.com.
Ask for the deluxe cleaning package. They will even handle your transportation from BKK to Pattaya. Perfect for someone who needs their hand held and refuses to read.
Another personal favorite is: Flipper Lodge Hotel. The advantage of this place is tight security. They will take care of you as a newbie.
If you are a cheap mother fuck: Apex Pattaya Hotel. Good if you don't want to take a street ho to your fancy room.
I suggest that you put a little work in and read. If you need more handholding PM me.

Pattaya 5* Hotels
Will return to the land of smiles in one month now that Songkran is over! Sure its fun and I've enjoyed being there the last 3 years its been on but it gets a bit tiring after a few days and the final day last year, whilst memorable, was not something I would want to relive! Let the youngsters fight it out. If they adhered to sun down / guns down I would love it but going out in the evening nicely dressed to get soaked is not my idea of fun.
Anyways. Often rent a condo whilst in Pattaya if there for more than a month but this time have business in BKK so will only be in Pattaya 2 weeks.
I've previously enjoyed many of the 5 stars. Wave (great fro watching beach road activity) but no gym, Hilton (cannot do the two lifts thing any more as it irritates and the gym is way too small despite being close to Coco my favourite gym in Pattaya), Somerset. Not a fan - 2nd road is too manic for me and the rooftop pool area has a great view but is so small that to get a bed ain't easy, and last time out tried a few days at Amethyst just off Bukhauo which was decent enough and heart of things but not scenic. I like Royal cliff for the views and Sanctuary Resort (not 5 stars) - the great vibe of Pratunmak and have also stayed at Sirin.
Have contemplated either Arbour (which looks great in terms of rooms / rooftop pool and great gym) or Avanti. Arbour off 3rd road looks a bit remote? Would welcome views from anyone who stayed in either. Did a forum search on Arbour but one response only not recommending due to location. Would appreciate input.

It is in the very heart of the action near all the bars, near Tree Town, right on Soi Bukhao which you will love, near everything. Not the prettiest area but the hotel is superbly located and you can walk to everything other than Soi 6. As you know already from your trips to BKK, Bolt is so so easy in Thailand. So you need not stay near Soi 6 - the area around it doesn't have a lot to offer. Get a Bolt for next to nothing to Soi 6 and even the soapies up near Siam (Honey 2 etc) but you really want to be in the heart of it all for your first trip and close enough to walk to Walking St as you like agogos. But you should try Kink agogo and the others in LK Metro. Also very close indeed from Amethyst which is a very decent 4/5 star hotel within your budget. Have fun.

Going in early May, mostly interested in the girls (of course).
I am currently staying in a 'Deluxe' room (B1,050 / $33) at the Queen Victoria Inn on soi 6, -- opposite Tomcats, Offshore, Exotica & Sexy In The City bars. Simple and basic in the heart of the action. Hot water, fridge, kettle, safe, TV, AC + ceiling fan. Draft beers and English / Thai food in the public bar.
My room entrance is from soi 6/1; the few ladyboys quickly learn to ignore you if you don't engage. Fruit stalls, noodle stands and 7-Eleven under 5 minutes' walk east. 7-Eleven sells 30-day, True Move SIM cards for B350 & the staff will register them, with your passport, immediately. 5 minutes' walk to Beach Road but quality of freelancers is quite low; YMMV. Can also hang around that 7-Eleven on the east side of Sai (Road) 2, and ask the good-looking girls, purchasing, which bar they work at. Some Thai teens are taller now, at 170 cm / 5'7".
Hot / low season now but hundreds of girls outnumbering tourists. Can save the bar's upstairs-room fee by walking her back to your room. There are also other properties on soi 6 with regular, guest-house-style rooms upstairs, which are generally more modern than the Queen Vic's. Poorly signed, so ask around. Bars are mostly populated by chubbies / shorties / plain-lookers, plus the occasional hottie who can state her price. Each bar has its own pricing and lady-drink policies. ST B1,500 up into the thousands; LT negotiable; heavy pressure to sell lady drinks to make the girls' quota.
Desire's live stream gives an impression of below-average young ladies. Curiously, they are the only bar with a live stream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jAr4UX6CLM

Thanks.
Yes. The room floors were so highly polished that they were dangerously slippery wearing socks. Something was funky with the shower plumbing because it wouldn't maintain a constant temperature.
This was my complaint from a few years ago, but a friend also had the slippery floor complaint last year.
Otherwise, it is quite good.

You say you don't like Pattaya so what made you come to that conclusion on your last visit? I searched for a field report from you but didn't see any.
You're looking at a 4 hour taxi ride so only you can decide if it's worth it. However, imo if you're going to come with a negative attitude you're likely better off to stay where you are and like.
I suppose he means that he doesn't like the city (who does, after all), but he likes the girls.
It can probably get boring if someone is doing the same thing day in and day out. Sometimes you have to switch it up, explore, get out of tourist areas, make some local Thai friends, take part in the culture, get creative, etc.

A day trip to Pattaya is doable, but is it optimal? I don't think so. Thus, If I were you, I would stay in BKK and forgo the roundtrip taxi ride, unless, you have never been to Pat, in which case, I might just go to see what all the hub bub is all about. Girly Pattaya is fucking amazing, but so is BKK. Personally, I think a week is the minimum amount of time to spend in Pattaya and 2 weeks is better than 1,3 weeks better than 2!

Staying at the Kokotel South Beach hotel now and recommend it.
It's just off soi 15, next to Soi Buakhao, but far enough away from bars so that it is quiet.
The WiFi is good and it has a small pool, although I have not used it.
To reduce the use of plastic bottles, they give you two glass bottles and have a water filtered machine on each floor, which you can refill as much as you like.
The room is big and has a large king size, comfortable bed. The staff are very friendly too.
I booked it last minute and got the room for around 1000 a night but without breakfast. Great value at that price, highly recommended.

Soi 2 is OK if you concentrate on Soi 6 for mongering. You can either walk there, or take the baht bus.
However, Sabai Lodge has only an average rating on Tripadvisor. So I wouldn't go there, if I were you.
But I don't know a better alternative in the same price range. Not close to Soi 6 anyway.

View Talay 6
View Talay 6 remains my recommendation. Of course if your don't have flow that has allowed you to build your stack then it's not for you. ALL of my friends stay there at my recommendation. They have stayed other places and been unhappy. But View Talay 6 keeps them all happy campers. Of course my crew rolls like I do. So the price is not a problem.
Did anybody stayed at sabai lodge in (s lodge in) on soy 2?
Is it safe, clean, ladies friendly?
I often stayed there before covid. Of course it was girlfriendly. At that time they still had a very good breakfast. The pool used to be one of the best in Pattaya, getting plenty of sun and in contact with bedrock. I have no idea what it is like now but I can say the location is ok. It's close to Central Marina shopping mall on 2nd road.
What I found crappy was their aircon which didn't lend itself to tuning. I remember having to either switch off the aircon or keep my window open because the aircon was icy cold.

Why View Talay 6?
What are the main benefits to this place? It looks very reasonably priced, but is there specific draw?
Location, Location, Location.
Girl Friendly, Good Security, Quiet, many services located in the building are within walking distance. On a baht bus line for 2nd Road and Beach Road. Central Mall located right next to it with a Tops Grocery Store and Food Hall. If you book through dancewatchers.com the rooms are well appointed and large. If you schedule the deluxe cleaning service you will not be disappointed.
But for me it is the location that is the biggest draw. I thought about posting up there long term. But found more affordable options for that. But if I was coming on a vacation I would stay in View Talay 6 each time, every time.

View Talay 6 Attributes
What are the main benefits to this place? It looks very reasonably priced, but is there a specific draw?
LOCATION: The ultimate walkable lodging in the heart of Pattaya. Next door to Central Festival Mall. Across the street from the Myth Night beer bar complex, connecting to Soi Made in Thailand, then Soi Buakhao connecting to Tree Town, Soi LK Metro and Soi Boomerang. Condo grounds connect to Beach Road and the baht bus to Walking Street. Main entrance is on Second Road and the baht bus to Soi 6. Moto-taxi stand right outside the front door.
LOGISTICS: Several shops in the VT-6 lobby, including laundries, massage and a convenience store. There is even a small cafe. Next door at Central Festival there is a big food court and an upscale grocery store. Within 500 meters you'll find every conceivable business, shop or store -- including a money exchange, 7-11, barber, seamstress and cinema. Plus the Pattaya Night Bazaar.
LODGING: Several agents handle short term condo rentals. Some of the units are basic and cheap; some are lavish and expensive. Most are in between.
Obviously, I'm a VT-6 fan. But not all of the gents here share my enthusiasm. If they want to weigh in, that would be great.

S lodge
Thanks for the info and recommendations, I'm not that picky, and given the fact that S Lodge is about half the price of the VT6 and nonrefundable, I'll stick with that for now, but I will check the VT6 to have it on the list for next visit.
For the past 4 years I've been living allover SEA, mostly in hotels, I'm not thrifty but it adds up to over $50 k a year easily for hotels, food, flights, and pussy. When I used to be a 2 week warrior was a different story, sometimes I splurged at Kempinski or Banian Tree, now is more low key, emphasis being put on the quality of pussy.
I should mention that I stay mostly in the Philippines, where food is shitty, hotels are even shittier and it costs double than Thailand, the only good thing is the GFE, and the english language that's spoken everywhere.

Flipper House
Hello. First post here. Just came from Pattaya and really enjoyed it, will write my report shortly. I thought I will start by posting first about my hotel, Flipper House. Most posts about it are a bit outdated.
I really liked Flipper House and would strongly recommend it. Location is excellent; it's in Soi 7, close to the beach, walking distance to Tree town and Soi 6, baht bus short ride to walking street, and very quiet. Rooms are spacious, clean, with a safety box; only problem is keys are old style and hard to carry. Wifi very fast and doesn't drop. Breakfast buffet is excellent with a large choice and an egg station. Nice pool at the roof with a view of the sea. Safe and Guest friendly; girl leaving her ID at security desk and giving the room number, collecting it back after checking with the guest. Large car park that I did not use. And most importantly, price is unbeatable. They had a promotion at the time due to low season; I got my double bed room for 860 baht a night including breakfast from Booking, that's 20 British pound / night.
This will be my go-to hotel when I visit again.

Endless waiting for and in the elevators (where you stand with 9 other guests like sardines).
Older building. Huge renovation backlog. You're never far away from the nearest condo that's getting (jack-) hammered and grinded.

Amber hotel
Stayed for few nights at amber pattaya and not sure I will stay here again. First turn off came when I found they don't allow joiner below 20 yrs! This was confirmed by my lady of the night who just turned 20 this month. She was denied entry few months back and had to bypass reception using the parking lift. Secondly, the housekeeping is one of the slowest I have seen so far. Seems the staff is very uninterested in their job.
The 20 yr restriction rule worries me. Is it a norm for pattaya hotels to deny entry below 20 yrs? I had brought 19 yr chicks in another hotel I stayed (blackwoods) but they didn't bother us.

Thai age of majority is 20 yrs, meaning u20s need parental permission to be at that hotel for whatever reasons they might be there. Some hotels don't care, others do.

I dug a little deeper regarding parental consent and found that there are exceptions, for example "Strictly personal acts: Acts of a highly personal nature are exempt from the consent requirement." It also states "The age of consent for sexual activity is 15, but a person between the ages of 15 and 18 is still considered a minor."
If you believe google AI, it is easy to see why some hotels enforce the 20 year minimum and others do not.

Avoid This One For Sure
Just came back from Pattaya.
Stayed in a place named the beach just beside the Soi 6. They have 2 towers. Stayed in 1 and for breakfast had to go to another one anyway. The main drawback is they charge 1 K baht to get a girl in which pissed me off. I was told by many that all the hotels in Pattaya allows WGs. And when at the middle of the night I was approaching towards the elevator through the lobby, the girl at the counter mention "Sir, you have to pay 1 K baht to bring a girl in" which pissed me off but couldn't argue as me and my girl both were waiting to bang each others brain out. Therefore threw the 1 K at the counter and took her to the room and then rest was so good that I didn't mind to pay 1 K at the lobby. But, this place is really not mongering friendly. A big no to this place.

Age limit hotels
The other day I was staying in my usual place in Bangkok near Nana. They are girlfriendly, I could take girls up to my room without paying anything.
But when I showed up with a 19 year-old, they explained that they would only except her if I registered her as my second permanent guest in my room. And if I did that, I would for the rest of my stay have to pay a 500 baht joiner fee for every new girl I wanted to take up to my room.

Please suggest me any suitable budget friendly condo for a week or so near LK Metro or Tree Town area.
I observed one interesting banner, The Fxxk Inn opposite to BarCode bar at LK Metro. Any Idea about this place?
Thanks.

Courtyard
Hello. I expected and I have read all hotels are girl friendly in Pattaya, nevertheless for some hotels I read that a fee was charged. What about Marriott Courtyard? I have points to spend and make my stay free there. Thanks!

I've never had a girl refused before and plenty have been 18-19 yo. Some got their ID taken, others just walked through without issue. My friend on the other hand has had 3 girls not allowed into the same hotels due to them being 19.
It's the luck of the draw and you'll just have to play your cards.

Meant to hand out the 10/20's but as luck would have been, 2/3 hundred bath notes came out instead and me being me, thought it would feel bad to put them in and take out the correct notes. Plus the guy had a really wide smile haha! But it did pan out for me, cause he treated me like royalty for the rest of the trip. He made sure he would be the one to keep the girl's ID and call the room before she left and all that. Even gave me pointers on street food and snooker bars nearby. Also warned me of a Turkish / Uzbek chick I got from the beach at night, that she had been accused of stealing in the past LOL. I did have a few 18-19 year olds and they didn't stop them, not sure if they had some fake ID or what.

I had previously assumed it was 18 yo. Is there a real risk of criminal penalties if you bring a 18 or 19 yo girl to your room? I'm only interested in short-term, not overnight.

You can write a "good" 4-star review (in order not to be liable under the Thai law regarding "slander") while still getting the message across. This will cost the hotel much more than the one thousands they stole from you. I guess they are not girlfriendly because they want to force customers to session in the Soi 6 bars nearby. Maybe they're under pressure from the bar mafia.

What are the pros and cons with the Grande Centre Point hotel
Fellow members,
I am planing a trip to Pattaya in May. I have previously stayed at Hilton, Amethyst and Amari. I am looking for a hotel ideally that is not in a loud night club area and not to far from the action. I am considering the Grande Centre Point hotel. What are the pros and cons with Grande Centre Point hotel?
Thanks in advance!

Pattaya visit Frist Time
Friends, I am visiting Thailand for 1st time and will spend my time in Pattaya for 7 - 10 days. Going through the reports for last 1 years, but could not decide; Request senior members to suggest a suitable girl friendly hotels (for a newbie).
Thank you.

Room was annoying small, miss the maid cleaning and making bed, Elevators a pita, no breakfast available. The roof top is in the blazing sun and far too uncomfortable. The entire building is performatory, trying to check off boxes on a card. Unless I was staying for a month or more I would not stay here, and even then maybe not. The nearby hotels are geared towards the needs of tourists. I much prefer them and will never stay at a condo again.

However, I have the impression that the guests of the Grande Centre Point are mainly rich Chinese, Korean, and Japanese people. It's not a typical monger hotel.

Recommendations from The Cmdr
I've referred a half dozen friends (who have deep enough pockets) to View Talay 6. None have been disappointed. All have been very pleased. Especially by the location. A good place for a first visit. Then learn how you like to live in Pattaya and build the life how you want.
Going to the complete other end of the spectrum you have the Apex Pattaya Hotel. Outstanding location, basic clean rooms and prices so low it's hard to get a room in the place. The perfect fuck pad for me when I am wilding out and don't want to return to my room.
In the middle of the spectrum for me is the Flipper Lodge Hotel. Excellent location, well appointed rooms (although quite small), tight security, mid priced and excellent breakfast buffet.

Marriott Pattaya North
I am also considering Marriott Pattaya North. I can see it is even further away from all the action. As long as I can either jump on the bath bus or use Grab I am fine.
Thanks!

Flipper house
This hotel is cheaper but comes with its drawbacks. Not sure why people like it. Everything is old fashioned here. Although room size seems decent on paper but its design makes it feel much smaller and bathrooms are one of the tiniest in any hotel I gave stayed, even smaller than holiday inn express. TV is of shitty quality, could see the pixels from a distance. I could even see the disappointment on the face of my joiner ladies.
Only positive I see is that it allows joiner less than 20 yrs.
-
Update. Stayed here and its joiner friendly but age limit is 20 yrs. Have brought 2-3 chicks daily so joiner count is not a problem here. Breakfast is meh. Nice HUGE rooms. Seems mostly geared towards families looking at the amenities, but not an issue for us mongers as well!

It's a good option. Rooms are clean and modern with a big comfy bed. No cupboards though. There was no noise problem when I stayed there. Added bonus is there is a big soapy massage place "pp" right in front of the hotel.
Just keep in mind they don't allow joiners below 20, and housekeeping can be very slow at times.

March hotel?
Hello.
I am looking for a hotel in Pattaya for December 2026 - January. So very high season. The ones I use to take have very high price.
I look a clean one in the center of action, from soi 4 till waling street.
With a normal price and good reviwe, for the very high season, I just found March hotel. It also win an Agoda price, but I found in Trip.com for 40 euro for night. For very high season is ok.
Did somebody try March Hotel? Is they nice and clean?
The room in the road side are noise or not? Otherwise I can book the ones in swimming pool side.
Thanks in advance.

No problem bringing in girls. They usually asked to see an ID. I booked again this November at about $50 per night. Clean and the rooms had a balcony. I would recommend unless you want to spend a lot of money on fancy decor.

The room in the road side are noise or not? Otherwise I can book the ones in swimming pool side.
Thanks in advance.
I just stayed at the Grand Hotel Pattaya and I was shocked how quiet it was! This hotel is literally 10 meters off walking street right in the middle of all the action. I had a sea view room on the 8th floor facing north (towards Pattaya Beach) and when I closed the sliding door to the balcony it was almost totally silent! I was expecting it to be noisy and brought earplugs but did not need them at all! I paid $50 a night on Agoda and will stay there again. It was great to be so close to the action and the hotel does a good job of checking ids and calling you when your guest is leaving to make sure everything is ok. My room had a great view, see attached pic.
I stayed at Dynasty Inn Pattaya in February this year. On Soi 13 between Song Road and Beach Road. Walking distance to all the action except Soi 6, which is easily accessed with the Bhat bus.
No problem bringing in girls. They usually asked to see an ID. I booked again this November at about $50 per night. Clean and the rooms had a balcony. I would recommend unless you want to spend a lot of money on fancy decor.
The Dynasty Inn is OK, but GiovanniVolo is looking for a quiet hotel. The rooms at the front side of the Dynasty Inn are not quiet, because there's a beer bar at the corner of Soi 13 and Sai Song Road (Second Road). The rooms at the back side are much less noisy. However, the walls between the rooms are made of wood, which means you can hear your neighbour(s) watching tv, talking on the phone, fart, and fuck.

Grand Hotel Pattaya
Thank you.
It look good views, but Grand Hotel do not have swimming pool.
I cannot stay all the days fucking, or in the bar, and island is not near. I can go, but not every day.
This time I was also look for a beach on the cost.
But swimming pool is very usefull for spare time.
March hotel have swimming pool, and I found in very high season 40 euro a night. Swimming pool side room are 44 euro a night, not so much more.
But if it is not noisy I like to see the main entrance, and I watch a couple of video: March hotel is not in a road with traffic. Moreover I ask for room in high.
Floor, so I think will be right.

Areca lodge minimum age requirement
Has anyone who stayed in Areca lodge in past confirm if 18 & 19 yr old guests are allowed here?
-
Mailed their customer care and they confirmed the age limit.
I am planning to stay few days in either payaa or siam design hotels. Anyone stayed there in the past and what's the age limit?
Their customer care is unresponsive.

Amethyst
Just a quick one. Stayed here on recommendations from this forum. Hotel is nice enough. Took their duplex room and it did the job nicely for me. Space for fun downstairs, and private room for me upstairs. Didn't use the plunge pool. Seemed more a novelty than practical. Also sound of water pump for the pool under the stairs was noticeable. Reception and doorman were always professional when checking my guests in and out. Breakfast was grim tbh. Nothing tasted good. But my biggest complaint is location. Sure I had a bunch of venues nearby. But as a first timer in Pattaya I realized very quickly that I should have taken a hotel on beech road around where the Hilton is.

Visited Flipper House last year
This forum has a lot of good reviews somehow. It is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in Pattaya. Apart from the breakfast buffet, I did not like anything.
The biggest one. Aircon takes forever to start after plugging the keycard in. And it maxes out at an insufficient level of cooling.
Smoking weed is not allowed even in the room balcony. But I guess some people would prefer that.
If my memory serves me well, the bathroom had a weird smell.

Avani Pattaya
For those looking for some intel on the Avani Pattaya, please note that solo male "guests" are allocated the worst room in the room category purchased by default. The reason being is that solo travelling males are deemed low risk of complaint, as such are allocated to worst room in category. This information is perpetuated in the guests booking profile, and is repeated at other Avani locations. I have personally experienced this issue at Avani Pattaya and Avani Ao Nang. Despite what details you put in your booking, reception staff will try and ascertain your travelling status at check in to see if you are a male travelling solo.

Where to stay
Can someone suggest a good area where to find a hotel? Close enough to the area where I will be scoring bar girls so that it's not a long walk back to my room yet not so close that the noise of the night life will be annoying. And of coarse a safe area. Th equivalent of 250-300 USD per night. Thanks.

Close enough to the area where you will be scoring bar girls? Mate, the bar girls can be found in the entire city. It's not just one area.
A safe area? Apart from the so called "Dark Side" maybe, the entire city is safe.
250-300 USD per night? You realize that in Thailand you get a high end hotel for that price? (the Hilton is already mentioned). Is that what you're looking for?
Start reading the threads about Pattaya first, including this one, and then come back with more specific questions.

Where I like to stay

There are a number of nice hotels within a 5 minute walk, that are less expensive. I like the nightlife areas near there, LK Metro, Soi Chiyapoon, Soi Boomerand, Soi Honey, etc. These areas are a bit less likely to permanently damage my hearing and they are a lot of fun. I'm not a big fan of Soi 6 and Walking Street, they are loud, more expensive and far more pushy.
It's each to their own. I'm not a big fan of open air beer bars either, I find them to be a little too warm. I do go to some of them, but I prefer aircon. My Irish ancestors lived in a much cooler environment.
View Talay 6 or the Hilton in Central Mall
Right next to each other. Across the street from Myth Night. A Baht Bus ride away from Soi 6 and Soi 7. Walking distance to Soi Honey, Tree Town and Soi Buakhao. In my opinion there is simply NO better location you could stay on your first trip to Pattaya. If you are uncertain book a couple of nights in the Hilton and then look around after you get here. Vacations should be designed to be worry free and enjoyed.

If it's a room in the back building I wouldn't recommend. The good rooms are the one looking onto one of the two swimming pools. The good rooms are not available on the big platforms (Trip, Booking, Agoda). I regard Areca Lodge as an insider hotel. Do they still require you to walk to front desk and sign a paper every time you have a visitor?

People visit Pattaya from all over the world, bringing all manner of currencies. Here in the forum we quote everything in Thai Baht. At 32/USD your budget is 8,000 to 9,600 Baht per night. That is *EXTREMELY* generous in Pattaya.
If you're visiting for the first time, go to this web site:
https://www.calcmaps.com/map-radius/
Search for "Pattaya Central Festival Mall. " Set the radius to 0.4 miles and click "draw circle. " Book a hotel in this area.
My Guidance for Novices:
==> South of Pattaya Klang Road.
==> North of Soi 13/2.
==> West of Third Road.
==> Hotels near the beach are more expensive. Hotels east of Second Road are cheaper. Hotels close to Third Road are cheaper still.
As others have noted, you can't go wrong with the Areca Lodge. I also recommend the Whitehouse Condotel on Soi 13 for first visits. It's a chill place on a quiet soi that caters to golfers. No problem bringing back guests. But otherwise it's a tranquil place. On your budget, you can book a 1 BR suite with a kitchen and balconies. You could also book a suite at the Hotel Baraquda.
PRO TIP: Decide what features and benefits, exactly, are important to you. Then go back 100 pages in this forum and read forward. Use Google to locate the hotels mentioned (and to get a general lay of the land). Go to the hotel web sites to see photos. If you have a *SPECIFIC* question, post it.

https://youtu.be/tsdbohRiYfQ?si=a7sSPNRe4WD1rIGh
You can't have your cake and eat it. If you are close to the night-life, and this includes most of central Pattaya, you must be prepared to sleep with ear plugs. You'd better test which ear plugs suit you and buy them before coming to Thailand because they can be hard to find in Thailand. Sometimes the noise is from within the hotel itself. Quite a few hotels have a "bar" or "coffee shop" attached to them, and instead of instructing these places to go easy on the sound, they'll welcome booming and blaring that make your room walls tremble until 5 in the morning.
During the day traffic noise is often only a small part of the equation. Question: how far are you from the nearest building site? Answer: never far away in Pattaya. Jack-hammering, grinding of metal or concrete is going on everywhere all the time. Baraquda for example is fine, except where they're tearing up 2nd road nearby.
The average duration of a shop or restaurant in Pattaya is 3 months, so every 3 months they're demolishing and / or rebuilding. They will also be tearing up Sois or parts of Beach Road or 2nd Road for no apparent purpose except filling the pockets of city officials.

https://youtu.be/tsdbohRiYfQ?si=a7sSPNRe4WD1rIGh
Like XXL already said, it's hard to find a quiet hotel in Pattaya near the nightlife. Therefore I'm always checking the most recent reviews on Tripadvisor, by searching for words like 'noise' and 'noisy'.
Combined with what I know about the location and surroundings of these hotels (as a long time visitor to Pattaya), I can tell you this about the 5 hotels that are promoted in the vid, even though I have never stayed there myself:
Hotel Amber. Is in a quiet location, very close to the nightlife on Soi Buakhao. Maybe not ideal if you like to find your girls in the agogo's on Walking Street, but it's doable.
Intimate Hotel. There are noisy bars at the backside of this hotel. The front side is quieter, but not 100% quiet I think.
Hotel Baraquda. Right next to very busy Second Road (Pattaya Sai Song Road), and Avenue Mall. And there are some beer bars on the other side of the road, at the corners of Soi 13/1 and Soi 13/2.
I wouldn't want to stay there, even though quite a lot of board members here love it.
Siam Bayshore Resort. A bit far from the action, all the way down Walking Street, close to Bali Hai Pier. Unless, again, you like to find your girls on Walking Street.
Mixed reviews regarding noise: some say it's noisy, some say it's quiet.
Hilton. Excellent central location, but there are many bars on the north side, in Soi 7 and Soi 8. So a room on the south side might be better. However, sometimes there are festivals and concerts on Beach Road, or in front of the mall (Central Pattaya, a.k.a. Central Festival) that is right under the hotel.

In April 2026 I stayed at:
Pintree Serviced Apartments, off South Pattaya Road. B799. Spacious, kitchen, decent safe. 5 minutes' walk to the excellent Friendship supermarket.
Tycoon Place Hotel. B900. Chinese-owned. Pool. Same soi as Pintree.
Jomtien Longstay Hotel. B1,000. Jomtien. Misleading name as it takes short stays too. Balcony. Pool.
Aiyaree Hotel. B1,000 ('discounted' entering hot/low season). Jomtien. Popular with Europeans. Pool. Big room with safe, kitchen corner and balcony. Good buffet breakfast until 10 am. Hot water to big bathtub a bit tricky to control. Next to Jomtien Longstay.
In Saphankwai, Bangkok, a new gem is the Aesthetic Hotel, offering 3/4 star quality for B900, on Suthisarn-Winitchai road. Electric toilet, curtains and shower-blind. 48" TV. Need a Bolt or Grab taxi to Sukhumvit but nearby are girlie bars such as RCA and DED99, eateries, a 7/11 every few steps, and the motorbike-taxi guys can take you to nearby 'ladyhouses' for outcall.

Looking for hotels with mirrors around the bed
I have heard Penthouse and Baraquda have mirrors but these places are not to my liking. Penthouse looks especially seedy.
Any suggestions? I would prefer mirrors near the bedside. Ceiling mirrors are nice to have but not mandatory.

Hotels in YouTube Advertising Video. Quiet?
What do you think about these hotels in this video? What I am concerned about is the possible noise due too location being close to night life.
HOTEL AMBER: Halfway between Soi Buakhao and Third Road on Chaloem Phrakiat 21 Alley. South side the alley, set back a bit. Closest noisy bar would be the Candy Club, at least 100 meters away.
INTIMATE HOTEL: North side of Soi 14 Alley, about 75 meters east of Second Road. That soi is a dead end and doesn't get much through traffic. The hotel is pretty deep into the soi. Almost no nightlife on that soi. So probably pretty quiet.
HOTEL BARAQUDA: Next door to The Avenue shopping complex. Fronts on Second Road, which has traffic 24/7. But I know from personal experience that the rooms in the back overlooking the pool are quiet. Beware that The Avenue hosts a night market that includes outdoor dining and drinking and amplified music.
SIAM BAYSHORE: This is at the SOUTH end of Walking Street, near the Bali Hai Pier. Some ginormous night clubs down there that stay open until dawn. The video claims the place offers a "peaceful retreat." I have no personal knowledge, but I'm skeptical. Also: Walking Street during the daytime is a bit sad.
HILTON: Next door to the Central Festival Mall, towering over the beach. If your budget permits, the rooms with a balcony looking out to sea are spectacular. Up on the higher floors noise won't be a factor.
FINALLY, AN OBSERVATION: Pattaya is a beach resort that caters to travelers on holiday. It is RAMMED with amplified music of every form and fashion. Tiny beer bars have YouTube music videos playing with the sound on. Complexes like Myth Night have a DJ and a high tech sound system. There are also multiple clubs with live performers. It's just part of the party vibe.
If you stay in the central part of town (and you should on your first trip) you're almost certain to hear some nightlife noise while inside your hotel. Of the four possibilities pimped on YouTube, I think the Amber Hotel would probably be the quietest, mostly because it's a bit off the beaten path.

Thanks,
Looks like the first two are in the white building in attached Google street view snapshot. Most likely girl friendly, but the pictures look too good to be true for an apartment of only €59 / night (approx. 2000 baht / night). And I doubt you will get the nice sea view. I would be very careful booking this, without having seen it first. Also be aware that it's right next to busy Second Road, and close to a cluster of noisy beer bars at the corner with Soi 10.
Nearby Page 10 Hotel is girl friendly and gets mostly good reviews on Tripadvisor. Just be aware that the rooms at the front side will be noisy until at least 2 AM, due to the beer bars at the corner with Second Road.
But maybe I'm too picky when it comes to places to stay.

The BayView Hotel
I Like the Bayview, especially a high floor room with Seaview, but be aware about the visitor policy, have just checked with hotel again and they write:
"Thank you for your enquiry regarding our guest (joiner) policy. Our hotel policy requires that all unregistered guests leave a copy of their ID card at the front desk for the safety and security of you and all our guests.
There is a registration fee of THB1,000 / guest / registration, however for bookings made via our hotel website (http://www.thebayviewpattaya.com) we are happy to waive this fee. To receive this waiver, please book for 2 people when making your booking, even if you are checking in alone.
Bookings made via other channels (travel agents, online travel agents, etc) are not eligible and we will charge the standard registration fee. ".

Hotels
Everyone is different. For those looking for luxury hotels, there are several: Hilton, Amethyst, View Talay 6, LK Empress, and Wave. All are good. There is a large number of second tier hotels, like Areca, Amber, Baraquda, Mytt, and Woodlands. The price there is upward of 2000 bhat, closer to 3000.
For me, when I travel, I only care about 2 things; the location in a good and safe area, and the price. I am only in the hotel when I sleep or when I bring someone; otherwise I am out. I always stay in 3 star hotels, and the ones I look for are Flipper House, March, which are in a quiet area, and P Plus, Vogue, Kokotel closer to Tree Town. None of these compare to the Hilton, and each has its own problems, but the price there can be less than 1000 bhat incl breakfast. By saving on lodging, and flying economy non-direct, I can spend more on girls and still stay within budget. That is my preference. However, I understand that lodging could be a priority for many.

My experience they only allow 1 guest at a time so if your looking for that 3 sum this ain't the hotel.

Areca lodge
Stayed in areca lodge recently. It's an ok hotel but not sure why it's so popular. It claims to be a 4 star but I felt the room too bland and minimalistic with few obvious signs of wear and tear. Some plaster coming off near the ac and the balcony curtains, nothing major but noticeable. TV is ok but doesn't support smart apps or casting, so stuck with the limited tv channels. Slippers were not provided and I had to "rent" for 50 baht. 1st hotel in thailand I observed this. I was in one of the standard plus rooms in the areca wing and my balcony faced the balconies of the wing next door. So view was nothing great to write about. Also for joiners they give them a slip which the lady needs to show to get back her ID. Not once they called me to check if "everything ok".
Breakfast is decent and location was ok. I am mostly a TF person rather than a bar guy so availability of bars nearby was not an important factor for me.
Also the check-in was strictly 2 pm so I had to wait in the lobby. It seems the room was ready much before as they immediately handed over the key when I went again around 2. I was sitting right in front of them the whole time, could have done it earlier!
Maybe I am bit more critical as I came here after staying in Mytt and Siam design in this trip. The rooms are much better and modern in these hotels. And the views from siam design room was very very nice. Unfortunately mytt has started charging joiner fees so can't recommend it but I think siam design is better option to areca as they are also 18+ joiner friendly, specially in low season.
Thats funny since almost every review on Orbitz has noise complaints from Walking Street bars.

Just came back from a recent trip to Pattaya. I stayed at the Hilton and the Edge Central Pattaya.
The Hilton was fantastic. Prices start at 6,000 to 7,000 THB. The elevators and interior hotel spaces were never crowded. You need to stop at the main lobby / reception level to switch elevator banks between the street level and the rooms upstairs. There are 2 banks of elevators that go downstairs; 1 to goes to the mall and 1 goes to the street level entrance. The front desk is so far from the elevators that I never stopped at the front desk when bringing a girl back. I just switched elevator banks and went straight to the room.
The Edge Central Pattaya was OK. I think the best thing is the location and everything was in pretty good condition because the building only opened in 2021.
The lobby area was almost always busy and crowded. Everyone staying there seemed to be short term renters. I think that is the main drawback. It's people from all over and different types of visitors (families, backpackers, solo, etc). In the mornings I would very frequently find trash in the hallways and the staff that works there seem to be just over it. There are 3 elevators and it was not uncommon for an elevator to be down for servicing. There are over 30 floors in this building so there would very often be a long wait for the elevator when you are going up or down. There was almost always people lining up to get on the elevator. Just be aware if you are bring a girl back that you will very likely be sharing a small elevator with families and other civilians. A keycard is needed to even go downstairs from your floor so if a girl is leaving, you may have to accompany her downstairs.
The rooms were fine. I liked that rooms were spacious enough for 2 people to lounge around but I didn't like that I could hear the music at night from the bars at Soi Diana. The windows closed fine but there was a HVAC access panel on the side wall that really didn't block the noise at all. The music started to really get going around 11 pm and died down around 2 am. My host provided ear plugs.
The pools on the roof were nice but there were always families swimming or people doing photo shoots so the pool area wasn't very relaxing.
I probably wouldn't stay here again and would probably just stay at a regular hotel next time.

Regular Hotel?
Thanks for a great review, I have never considered The Hilton, but think I will do that for my next trip. Out of curiosity which hotel is your Regular hotel?
Cheers.

The Hilton has a great location, and their rooms have balconies, but otherwise they are not really 5 star, plus the swimming pool is way too small for a hotel of this size and it is always overcrowded. When I stayed there the pool was like a dick fest with a few families thrown in. I wouldn't think of inviting a girl over for an afternoon pool party and as a solo act I found it hard to relax poolside. No thank you. There are better alternatives nearby and the Hilton is just not worth the money considering what you get.
P.S. My room faced the beach and was located on a high floor, so noise was not a problem and the breakfast buffet was pretty good, but the pool sucked, and the rooms were not true 5-star. Hence my review.

I don't have a regular hotel. That was only my 3rd time to Pattaya and the last time before this was 15 years ago. I do go to Thailand a lot but I am usually just stay in Bangkok.
I think I do prefer being around the Soi Diana area and I think I will just do TF going forward. The only thing I really look for is that is is not next to a loud bar area so I can sleep at night. Personally, I would probably look around the Soi 10 area or go back to the Hilton.
North Pattaya seemed to be more of a family area but if you plan to go to Soi 6 maybe you would want to stay around there. If you plan to go to Walking Street a lot maybe you want to stay in South Pattaya. If you are looking for a quieter area maybe you would consider Jomtien.

The Beverly Mountain Bay, Trade Mark Collection by Wyndham
If you are looking for a quieter area maybe you would consider Jomtien.
If that is the case you better be prepared for a more low key entertainment scene also. Although Jomtien / Pratamank has several gentleman's clubs that I find excellent. I'll make a list in the appropriate thread.
I would NEVER consider Jomtien if I was simply here on vacation. But if you are The Cmdr has a suggestion.
Hotel
The Beverly Mountain Bay, Trade Mark Collection by Wyndham is a modern hotel that is a great location and excellent value. But you need to use ride share services to get around. Unless you comfortable taking a long walk to the Baht Bus route. Expect to spend 20 - 40 minutes going to and from Central Pattaya.

Where to stay?
I just booked my ticket to Thailand and haven't booked a room yet. Last time I was there I stayed at Sutus Court 4, which was quite acceptable but still a budget hotel. I am considering 18 Coins across the street for this trip. If I get a room at the back of the building and away from Soi Buakhao there shouldn't be a noise problem.
Any other recommendations within a 5 minute walk of Soi Diana / Soi Buakhao? I'm looking for a low priced place to stay. Not the absolute cheapest, but low priced. The Nest is cheaper, but way too noisy. I would rather spend money on girls, all I need for a hotel that is clean, comfortable and safe in a good location.

https://www.dianaestatepattayarentals.com/
It's on the east side of Soi Buakhao, across the street from Tree Town. The "standard studios" are roughly 600 baht per night if you rent at least 21 days. Plus electricity and water. Weekly maid service included. Chill complex. Laundry service on site.

Buffet Breakfast
Which hotel has the best buffet breakfast?
Look for 5 star properties with non-discounted rate from 800 THB per person. Email the hotel and talk / email to the chef to get the full menu description. Those properties will split the choice between Asian and International cuisine for the benefits of diverse clientele. My previous stay was with Melia and the hotel has got excellent breakfast where the chef gave me personal tour of all food choices.

Hi fellow mongers.
Did any of you try the Siam at Siam design hotel in Pattaya? I noticed their guest house FAQ does mention them being guest friendly, but nothing about it for the boutique design hotel.
So do any of you know if it's allowed? Any small letters to know about?

My bro wants to go to Pattaya. I told him to look here. He says he trusts me. I told him I don't go there and he should meet me in BKK. He insists I should help him.
He wants to stay a week, he wants to be near soi 6 and walking street, which I guess means near beach road.
Got hotel suggestions? One you have stayed at? Cost is not a factor.

I recently confirmed with management that the Avani has no guest fee, so it is technically girl friendly, but they indicated they don't want girl guests in the pool / garden area after 12 pm. This is the reason I rate the Wave #1. I strongly dislike the Hilton next door to the Wave. You can read my review in the hotel thread if you want to know why.
Less expensive, girl friendly, and with good location but not on Beach Road, but very close to LK Metro and other areas of interest is the Intimate Hotel Pattaya, formerly known as Tim Boutique Hotel. I stayed there when is was the Tim and I had a good time. It has a pleasant rooftop pool. I never stayed at the Baraquda, but some BMs whom I respect really like it so it is worth consideration.
I can't quite recommend the Areca Lodge although it has a good location near LK Metro and is relatively inexpensive. But the pool areas are inadequate, the rooms are small, and they are fanatical about signing in girls in.
So like I said, if money is not a concern and you want to stay on Beach Road, it's the Wave, the Avani Pattaya Resort, or the Holiday Inn.

I don't know about the Hard Rock, but I really dislike the Hilton. I stayed there once and did not like it. It has a great location, but for the money, their hotel pool should not be so fuckin' small and a total dick fest. The Holliday Inn has a much nicer pool and the Inn is roughly 40% cheaper. The Avani has a great pool garden area. The only Pattaya area Hotel with nicer grounds is the Intercontinental.

Short term hotel
I'll be arriving in Pattaya at about 3 am On my next trip in November (after arriving at BKK at 12:15 am And taking a car). I'll be able to leave my bags at Dynasty Inn, but last time they would not give me an early check-in at that hour (normally a 2 pm Check-in). I am considering finding some action on Beach Road or TF at that hour and asking the woman where to go for a ST hotel. Any suggestions? I'll have a lot of time to kill at a late hour and will need to hangout somewhere. I have not stayed at a short-term hotel like this before, but understand they are plentiful and open at all hours.

Arriving at 11:30 pm means I am usually checked into my Sukhumvit neighborhood hotel, showered & shaved and ready to hit the street by 12:45 to 1 am. The Go Go's will be winding down by then, but there is still plenty of action on Sukhumvit between Soi 4 and Soi 11 and beyond up to a block or two past Thermae towards Asok). So, I recommend concentrating on those 2 sois (Soi 4 & Soi 11 and the distance between them). The SW's, the girly bars and the clubs that you will find on these 2 sois is amazing.
Has anyone been to Diana Estate? The price is high though, at least 20-30 k / month for 1 bed condos. There are many other developments in the city, The Edge and The Base on second street near Tree Town, and Centric Sea up near soi 6 have equally good condos and nice facilities. The upper rooms have a great view and can see the sea from far. The going rate is 14-15 k / month. Diana is probably the same on soi Buakhao, but I am not sure of the view. These condos are much vfm than VT6, but they don't have the same view.

View Talay 6 will always be the spot to be in Central Pattaya!
The advantage of View Talay 6 will always be the location. Those without proper flow or stack simply need not apply. You will never be able to duplicate the location of View Talay 6. Now the management company makes a big difference in the quality of the rooms of that building. My friends and I always use dancewatchers.com. Also, because View Talay 6 is an older building the elevators need a major upgrade. The advantage over buildings like the The Edge and other newer projects are the rooms are like walk in closets compared to the size of the rooms in View Talay 6. Large, open and very spacious.
In my opinion, you can go cheaper. But you are not going to be on par with View Talay 6. To each their own!
I wonder how it's with Girls and how Girl friendly it is.

View Talay 6 is The Cmdr recommendation
I wonder how it's with Girls and how Girl friendly it is.
If the girl is unescorted then she leaves her ID (or information) at the security desk in front of the elevator. If you accompany her there are no questions unless you stop to have her present her ID at the same desk.
Do you know how many times I was coming back into the building, waking down the long hallway towards the elevators, saw a cute girl walking out? I said short time and she reversed her direction and begin walking with me. 2 customers for one taxi fare. What a deal for her!
Although I would like to add that location wise there is the: Sunbeam Hotel on Soi 8 Alley. Excellent Location. Room normal size. Great Value. I will use it as an upgraded Stabbin Cabin for the Central Pattaya area.

Location Location Location?
I'm read a lot of reports of guys who love having the nightlife at the doorstep of their hotel.
Do you guys agree the experience is really worth it? (as opposed to staying somewhere more public closer to the main roads like the mall).
I'm currently sitting on a reservation for Amethyst because its in the heart of Soi Buakhao / LK Metro, which many seem to favor. But maybe considering changing it to a nicer venue more central to everything, like Avani or Somerset.

Soi Buakhao / LK Metro is in the middel of the nightlife!

You are steps away from the action on Soi Buakhao. A short walk away from 2nd Road. Baht buses run on Soi Buakhao and 2nd Road. We all have our favorite locations. I don't see any problem with your current selection. It depends on your personal preferences.

It's not just the nightlife

It's a budget hotel, but right in the middle of the action. Not just the nightlife, there are a huge number of places to eat breakfast within a 5 minute walk and lots of places to eat in the evenings, including at least 3 burger stands on Soi Diana & LK Metro.
The Amethyst is is nearly as good a location, and I highly recommend eating at Nikki's.
On a previous trip I stayed at Sutu's Court, another budget hotel. Also a great location. Some evenings I would just wander around LK Metro without going into any of the bars. It was so alive in ways that suburbia will never be.

The location is OK. Certainly not bad, but also not the best. The Avani and Somerset are in a better location because they are right next to the baht bus route, and closer to Beach Road and a mall, but other than that there is not much reason to cancel your reservation at the Amethyst. Unless you prefer the luxury of the Avani and Somerset.
I believe it will be your first or second time in Pattaya, right? What you can do, as soon as you're there, is to just walk around and check out different locations that might be interesting for you. Because in reality it can look (much) different from pictures on a website. And in reality you might want to stay closer to Soi 6 or Walking Street, for example.

I thought I'd try somewhere else for a 2nd trip. I know Amethyst won't be as nice of a hotel as Melia, but I'm hoping to the location will lead to more memorable experiences with how close it is to LK metro and other businesses.
And if it turns out that I prefer Soi 6 more, it isn't the end of the world! I can always grab. Cheers everyone.

Amethyst
It all depends on your pereferences. Buakhao and site streets are my prime hunting area. So Amethyst, and also Areca, Travelodge and LK Metropole are my favourite stops. I would feel very unhappy in a hotel close to soi 6.

You are right! It is just not about the nightlife
I was staying at Zip Hotel for a month. It's a budget hotel, but right in the middle of the action. I am posted up outside central Pattaya But when I want to be close to the action I get a stabbin cabin right in the middle of the action. The the main reason I travel into central Pattaya from the area I am posted up in is to perform personal errands. Most those center around the many malls that are located there. Spend any time in a mall and you will realize that the girls that work in the entertainment industry are simply not all that. They are just have naked running around in the street, club or bar. Now, if I I could only learn to Thai to be able to talk to them at will.

Best LOCATION for Lodging?
"I'm currently sitting on a reservation for Amethyst because its in the heart of Soi Buakhao / LK Metro, which many seem to favor. But maybe considering changing it to a nicer venue more central to everything, like Avani or Somerset."
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: If a "beach resort" appeals, go with the Avani. If not, stay in Central Pattaya east of Second Road at the Amethyst or the Somerset.
THE AVANI is definitely a luxury property, and the closest to the beach. If being close to the sea in a resort-type complex is important to Khun Frog, he'll be happy there. The Avani is also the furthest south of the three hotels he's considering, very convenient to Walking Street. Bonus: Only steps from the sumptuous breakfast buffet at Casa Pascal.
THE SOMERSET is on Second Road, across the street from Central Festival Mall. I consider that the gateway to all the options east of Second Road. The east entrance to Soi Myth Night is about 160 meters south. From there he can work his way toward Soi Buakhao via Soi Myth Night, then south to Tree Town, LK Metro, Soi Lengkee, Soi Chaiyapoon, Soi Honey and Soi Boomerang.
In my view, this is the perfect base of operations for a naughty boy on holiday. I like the beach just fine, and enjoying strolling Beach Road -- especially in the morning. But central Pattaya east of Second Road is my happy place. Not so much for the girls. (Although there are more hotties than you'd think.) But for all the places I enjoy on vacation. Coffee shops; go-to-hell beer bars run by a hilarious mamasan; street food; pub grub; pharmacies; laundries; the Soi Buakhao markets plus hawker stalls (north & south); the Mr. DIY gadget shop at the Avenue; clinics and pharmacies.
As I often opine in the "Bangkok vs. Pattaya?" threads, the low-key beach vibe in Pattaya is more appealing to me than Bangkok's Blade Runner atmosphere. Nothing lowers my blood pressure like breakfast at the Devonshire, followed by wandering around running "errands" or shopping or sipping a nam soda in a random bar while doing some digital nomad stuff. And when the time comes for more, um, er, adult pursuits it's a quick trip to Soi Six, Walking Street or Soi Bong Koch 8.
As between the Amethyst and the Somerset, I haven't stayed at either. As others have noted, noise might be a factor at the Amethyst. One other thing: About 10 meters north of the Somerset there is a soi that runs southeast and connects to Soi Buakhao at the "curve" where Witherspoon's sits. Google maps doesn't show photos, but as of last spring that soi had been built out with bars and hawker stalls. It's a nice alternative for food and drink if you don't want to go inside the Central Festival Mall.
"I'm currently sitting on a reservation for Amethyst because its in the heart of Soi Buakhao / LK Metro, which many seem to favor. But maybe considering changing it to a nicer venue more central to everything, like Avani or Somerset."
I stayed at the Amethyst. I even took their duplex room with plunge pool. I did not use the plunge pool. The room was nice enough. It was good to have a downstairs for entertaining (and being entertained) and an upstairs as my sacred space for sleep. Breakfast was a struggle. How do you screw up scrambled eggs? I dunno. But they certainly do.
But the area I was not so fond of. I just don't find the center of Pattaya to be walkable and it felt like running the gauntlet every time I stepped outside. When on my second day I walked passed the Hilton on beach road I realized immediately that this is where I should have stayed. Not the Hilton per se but that area generally was far more palatable. Pattaya has soo many women all over the place, proximity to entertainment venues shouldn't be the determining factor for where you situate yourself. Thats the way I see it. But if pushed to choose BKK or Pattaya it's BBK any day. But that's just me. I like a vibrant city with the sex options at arm's length. Pattaya is just sex business all the time. Mixed in road chaos and a whiff of sewage. Nah. Thanks Though.

Amber vs Hilton / Amethyst / Amari
Fellow members,
I am planing a trip to Pattaya in May. I have previously stayed at Hilton, Amethyst and Amari. I am looking for a hotel ideally that is not in a loud night club area and not to far from the action. I am considering the Grande Centre Point hotel. What are the pros and cons with Grande Centre Point hotel?
Thanks in advance!
/Kirsia
Hey Kirsia. With all this discussion on location, could you please tell me your thoughts on your previous hotel stays? Would love to hear your thoughts on being at the Hilton vs Amethyst. Thanks!

Central Pattaya Can be Intense at Night
I just don't find the center of Pattaya to be walkable and it felt like running the gauntlet every time I stepped outside. I like a vibrant city with the sex options at arm's length. Pattaya is just sex business all the time. Mixed in with road chaos and a whiff of sewage. Nah.
Fair play to Khun Fake It, central Pattaya does sometimes require running a gauntlet. The main problem, it seems to me, is that there is very little separation between pedestrians and motor vehicles. During the day it's pretty easy to walk on the shoulder of a road and avoid traffic. But at night I concede it's a challenge. I was back in town for 90 days earlier this year for the first time since 2019 and it felt like the drivers on Soi Buakhao were more aggressive, and there were more obstacles along the roadside. (Pushcarts mostly.) I also saw LOTS of impatient scooter drivers getting around traffic jams by driving on the wrong side of the road, or on the shoulders where pedestrians were walking. That said, once you get off Soi Buakhao it's much better. Sois Diana, Honey, Made in Thailand, Lengkee & Chaiyapoon all have traffic. But they are far safer for pedestrians.
As for Khun Fake It's preferred separation from the naughty boy scene, I take his point. That's why I don't stay near Walking Street, Soi 6 and Soi Bong Koch 8. But I would submit that Central Pattaya has plenty of options for the average person on holiday. There are endless bars where you can drink in peace without getting hustled for lady drinks -- some with live music, some with pool or darts and some with sport on the TVs. There are markets and hawker stalls. There are sit down restaurants. There is shopping and at The Avenue a cinema.
In closing, I don't think it's fair to describe central Pattaya as "just sex business all the time." But as they say in the Interwebs, YMMV and just my two cents worth. Guys who want to put some distance between their lodging and the city's naughty boy venues will always have plenty of options.

Amari girl-friendly?
According to reviews Amari has a better breakfast than say Holiday Inn or Centerpoint Terminal 21. I value a good breakfast. However I've read they did not allow unregistered guests for breakfast even if you booked for two. No big deal, I have breakfast on my own ninety percent of the time.
It would be bad however, if they were not girl-friendly.

That is what I did before booking with the Avani (former Marriott). They told me they did not charge for (hooker) guests, but that these guests were not welcome in any of the hotel's public facilities like the garden / swimming pool or restaurant from 12 pm to 6 pm (sundown). I do like to occasionally entertain my girls poolside in the afternoon, but almost never do LT in Thailand, so I weighed the advantages and disadvantages of staying at the Avani and considering the super low rate they offered me I went ahead with the booking anyway. I can cancel the reservation at any time prior to the arrival date so if the Wave Hotel should drop its nightly rate by $40, I will change my reservation. If not, I will stay at the Avani and have a great time.

Amari: joiner fee
Ok so I got a reply from Amari through line. I had asked about their guest policy for short-time guests. The full answer: "For joiner guests, there is an additional charge THB 1000 per person per night".
So I guess that's a hotel we can cross off our list for good.

We are pleased to share our Visitor (Joiner) Policy, which applies to any additional person who joins a registered guest in their room for a short time:
Entry to the Room.

- The hotel takes no responsibility for any visitor whom a guest chooses to bring into their room with their own consent and permission.

Charges and Identification.

Moving this over from the Bangkok hotel thread:
Thanks to those who recommended Night hotel in Bangkok. It's exactly what I was looking for.
Next stop will be Pattaya. I've read through a bunch of pages on that hotel forum but having a hard time picking. I would like something similar. Around 70-80 usd a night, within a 15 minute walk to the fun places. Siam Design Hotel was one I thought might fit the bill but I'm not sure.

A Good Choice for a Hotel
Whitehouse Condotel.
Soi 13 off Beach Road.
Three room sizes to choose from. Short walks to Walking Street and LK Metro.

1. True 24 hour checkin checkout policy, I. E. , if you check-in at say 4 pm you can check-out till 4 the next day.
2. The reception comes AFTER the lift area which is access controlled via your room card. You don't need to register the guest at the reception.
Another bonus is 18+ allowed.
I would still prefer siam design though, due to its all glass wall and nice views. Plus it's also 18+. Only annoying thing is the sound of the lift operating. It sounds like some strong wind blowing and hitting the building.

Booked Whitehouse Condotel.
Why don't you book each of them for a couple of days, and see which one you like the most? We cannot make up your mind for you.
Booked. Will report, thanks.

Apologies for my late reply. I rarely look in the Pattaya Hotel thread. Perhaps you could upgrade your membership and you will get access to send DM.
Hilton is by far the best between the hotels I have stayed at. One thing to know is that the reception of Hilton is not on the ground floor and the walk of shame between the lifts can feel a little awkward. If that doesn't bother you and you have a budget of USD200+/ night I would go for Hilton.
/ Kirsia.
Hey Kirsia. With all this discussion on location, could you please tell me your thoughts on your previous hotel stays? Would love to hear your thoughts on being at the Hilton vs Amethyst. Thanks!
Hilton vs Amethyst
Have not stayed in either hotel. As far as the location it is six and one hand and half dozen in the other. I prefer the location of the Hilton, if I was going to stay.
Cheers.
Be.
I frequently stay at this hotel. For me, it's perfectly girl friendly. I usually meet the girls in the lobby and we go straight to the elevator. I can't remember having being asked for the girls ID. In any case you can just take the basement floor entrance coming from the swimming pool. This way reception will not even see you.
