Excellent
Neither would I invest in LOS [Land of scams]. But a German guy in Pattaya told me that of all the (skilled) foreigners he knows who work in Pattaya during the last 10 years, those who haven't become millionaires (he means Euros) must have mistaken work with holiday.
Pete, If you really need it, I can find you a room in Soi 22 for 500 Baht with shower and aircon. The place is newly open and run by a girl who owns a bar. It is not my cup of tea, but considering how much it costs it is pretty good.
That way you have the money left for a daily barfine at the sports bar.
Sounds good to me Tiger, PM me with details when you have some time please.
... i re-grew my spine and i am back, back to being the twat i always was.
to my potential business partners. not only do i have no money to invest, but los would be the last place i would put it. you have also seen my confusion about management styles. one minute i'd be punching some complaining customer in the head, the next i'd be giving him a full refund and a freebie next time around. i am not the kind of person who would be a good investor in your venture, because i would want to be there and get involved, and as just stated, that would not be good.
but anyway, i'm back!
petemcc,
lol. welcome back.
come on, peep inn should not be that expensive, and then you can build up your own bar, be the barman and hotel nurse, and implement your own price structure on room rates and bar fines.
how is that?

all i need is a friendly german entrepeneur who has made a load of money to put up the capital for me!

peep inn
the peep inn idea made me laugh. i put together development deals, and i was just thinking what my guys would say if i presented them with this opportunity. i think they'd never talk to me again. lol but it might be worth it for the looks if nothing else. i'd pay money to see their faces.
i could assure them that i would monitor the acquisition and redevelopment personally. i'm that dedicated.

Alcoholics
I don't think I can do business with alcoholics. ;)
Party, yes. Business, no.
I don't think I can do business with alcoholics. ;)

I am not an alcoholic anymore. Because of the new management style I have been shown, I believe that I now have a problem with the social consumption of alcoholic beverages which can be cured by talking to me nicely and allowing me to express my frustration with having to turn up to work to get paid.
I still believe a retired mongers island in the South Pacific region with nurses and frequent imports would be a good bet.

Business
Here's some good business advice:
It's better to be 'expensive' than 'cheap'.
Why?
Because the 'cheap' places only have customers because they are 'cheap'. Price sensitive customers -- they have no loyalty to you, only loyalty to the lowest price.
The problem is that whatever business you're in, someone will always go cheaper. So if you have a hotel room going for $30/night, and it's the cheapest... what if someone offers a room for $27/night? Then you just lost your customer!
And how much are you really profiting by charging so little (and working on volume)?
Wouldn't it be better to market to a more 'high-end' clientele and charge $200 USD/night? Instead of trying to sell 6-8 room at $25-30/night, why not just sell one room for $200/night?
You only deal with one guest, profit is much higher, and your guest is staying with you not because of price, but because of the other things you offer (whatever that may be).
So I think Giotto is doing a decent job -- and probably could get away with charging even more...

Cheap Charlies
what if someone offers a room for $27/night?
Then Pete will complain that it's not $25.
Sorry mate, just messing with ya. I'll send you some discount coupons to make up for it. ;)

I'm not a cheap Charlie, I just recognise value for money, and that extra 2 dollars is almost a beer in Bangkok. Got any beer discount coupons?

Not a Cheap Charlie?

And exactly how much does a beer cost where you live?

Cheap Charlies
Oh BTW I stopped at Livingstones on three occasions in May/June and thought it excellent value.
Only one complaint:- Giotto, crap pool side seats, can you take this up with the Marketing Manager?
And exactly how much does a beer cost where you live?
I buy it it cartons of 24. Full strength (4.8%) about 42 dollars. I drink at home, I have a problem with the social consumption of alcohol. Sometimes it's less than 40 dollars.
I never go out. People look at me and some even try to talk to me. I prefer to sit in front of my keyboard and drink until I fall asleep. The real world doesn't excite me, only Pattaya. Bangkok is too real I think.

unfortunately i was not involved in getting the new pool table and it's obviously too large to also permit additional side-line stools. giotto had to decide on a smaller table for pool only, or a larger table that served the dual purpose of gangbangs (instead of down in the dungeon) after the bar closed :)
i'd also like to knock out that center beam but fear the gymnastics in the rooms above would then cause the roof to topple upon us. alas, always work in progress....it never ends.
this won't be repeated when we purchase the peep inn and design the renovations.
