I've arrived in Bangkok, first trip for a year or so. A question and an observation.
Firstly, does anyone know when and why The Office off Soi 33 closed down? I went there looking for a beer at about 2100 hrs last night and it was closed down. Disappointing for me as I have had some good times there in the past.
Next, has anyone noticed how fat Thai women are getting in Bangkok in particular as Thailand getting more Westernized? I've got to say it's disappointing. Why the fuck Thai women want to look more like the fat Bush pigs we have to put up with in the west has got me stuffed. Has anyone else noticed this as well or is it an illusion?
Thanks.
Office closed down some time last year, don't know exactly when. It was losing money IMHO, but difficult to get that confirmed. With sports on pay tv in Thailand the reason for the punters to show up just disappeared. The quality of the girls has been going downhill for some time, I got a few young ones out of there in the past years, but towards the end they were looking more like old aunties and the English was getting more difficult.
Dear all,
Although I am a member for several years, I took notice of the price thread today only.
http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?1083-Prices
The forum is full of posts complaining about increasing prices and guys asking for price information in paticular threads.
The price thread being a general one could be a very useful tool for all of us, so I would like to encourage my fellow mongers to put some recent info there. IMO it could be done in a brief way (widely practiced already) mentioning:
Country.
City.
Type of establishment.
ST / LT.
Looks of the lady X /10.
Performance X /10.
Price.
Link to your post.
Sorry for cross posting, happy mongering!

I can get very cheap girls too however quality of looks or skills or session time suffer, unless girl is only a semi pro.
You can always create a Price thread in the Thailand forum, for me to avoid. LOL.

Then each one can decide.
Price police is no good, but a mild warning somebody has overpaying is a friendly hint to make him aware not to be ripped off again.
Then the +- 500 can come and go, and no harm is done to anyone.
I left Pattaya because I couldn't find anything to do during the day and didn't want to hit the bars every night. I came to Phuket to where the gyms are at in Chalong so I could take some bjj during the day. But there isn't much night life here. There are no baht buses. I don't really want to hire a motor bike taxi to explore and don't want to rent one to drive. I didn't like patong beach at all, though I didn't give it much of a chance at one day.
So I am back to Pattaya in a few days. Going to stay there maybe 4 or 5 days then off to chiang mai. From things I see online e it has some daytime and some night time fun. I like a busy street life with lots of food vendors, beer bars and baht buses. Chaing Mai has a bjj place also. I would like to take a bit of thai language classes, but they seem expensive and more serious then I am looking for. I would like to learn a couple dozen phrases. And simple greetings, not the whole language or grammar etc.
Not much of a report other then to say chalong is boring.

Have met a few ladies on Thai Friendly that have offered to help in the past. Never took them up on it. I met a really sexy lady about a month ago on TF that offered to help. I must say this is way better than other lessons. Not only am I actually learning it and understanding it. It's super fun bc it's with a sexy lady I'm going to meet. Finally, in three days now. Still don't feel like I have a excellent grasp. It wasn't full steam ahead fast learning which made it not as hard and easier to understand. But anyway! Might try it with someone that makes it more interesting. And possibly free at that. Good luck!

You ought to get some basics from a combination of book and teacher. The teacher is important to get pronunciation going more or less close to correct.
My Thai improved in leaps and bounds when I had sexy Thai ladies staying with me full time (25 years ago you could book girls for bulk time cheaply and STs hardly existed), but this only works well if they cannot speak English, because if they feel their English is better than your Thai, they will naturally try to communicate in English. So that is why some early self study and teacher classes would be a good idea. Several Thai sounds do not exist in English and even basic vowel sounds differ significantly from English vowels. Especially if you are American, you need to learn to make many Thai sounds a lot shorter. Thai with American accent is amusing.
Use a flashcards App to study vocab. I use Flashcards Deluxe and feed it with an extensive spreadsheet. In early stages concentrate heavily on pronunciation of the Thai sounds and the tones. If you pronounce completely wrong vowel sounds, you may not be understood (unlike in English). Fortunately Thai Grammar is almost non-existent and dead easy.
Paiboon Talking Thai English Dictionary App is good. You can hear how the words are pronounced.
I have extensive and sufficient vocab, but it takes a lot of time and effort, persistence over years, unless you are super brilliant at picking up languages.
I left Pattaya because I couldn't find anything to do during the day and didn't want to hit the bars every night.
When in Pattaya I always stay at a hotel with at least a decent pool, and spending time by the pool is my primary daytime non-punting activity. Legit massages, lunch, walking the BR promenade, shopping, errands, and general exploring are others. Not really interested in playing golf or visiting a croc farm. I think there was a 'Things to do in Pattaya during the day' thread a while back.

Working in a Thai speaking environment also helps a lot.
Now-a-days some organizations are coming with Express Thai learning courses which lasts for 3-5 days (classes everyday) and they teach some basic phrases and vocabularies.

Takes significant time to just get pronunciation going good, like months unless intensive.

It is utterly deplorable how the fat count has increased and it's not just in Bangkok! I live up country Isaan and the days of the lithe LBFJ's (little brown fucking jobs) everywhere is slowly decreasing. Many of these Khway pack on the pounds at an early age these days. My Fatdar detects an increasing amount of these in the surrounding villages to where I live. It is simply devastating. They are well fed and the amount of sugar that is consumed is astounding, however they are not at the level of the Bush pigs from the other worlds. Yet.
