In preparation for my second trip, I read every single post from back then up until today. At first, it was impossible for me to fathom how, in the same span of time, Sosua got more reports than either Pattaya, Angeles City, Rio or Medellin. Even accounting all the US weekend-mongers, it just didn't make sense.

Then upon reading 275 pages, I found out that 99% of the post were about:

-the death of Sosua.

-Sosua is alive and well.

-black people are ruining it.

-countless lazy brothers asking the same newbie questions over and over again.

So thanks Tempoecorto for sharing your thoughts and experiences about Sosua, and even more so for gracing us with something soulful, instead of the all-too-common dissertation about the value of the peso in relation to the pussy diameter and gyno pics.

I don't think I would plan a trip around the presence of one chica at la Passion.

Sosua is a popular venue for preseason training, and you will see many groups of large men with names and numbers on their shirts trying to be anonymous.

I agree about posting pictures of chicas. I cannot see the point of posting (or even taking) pictures of body parts. That is middle school stuff. And unless you are a professional photographer, it is almost imposssible to capture the smile, the expression, the focus of the eyes that makes Dom Republican chicas so attractive, and even if you do, then you don't want to post them for confidentiality reasons. If anyone wants to know what Dom Rep chicas look like, they can go to the Web site of la Passion to see a good selection, but again these are amateur snapshots and in no way capture the true spirit of the girls.

I guess it's my fault for falsely assuming that when I post "decapitated" pics that guys would just use their imagination. Anytime I've posted photos of chicas with their faces in them I get a ton of PM's asking me for contact info (which I do not keep) , which leaves me to believe that there are a lot of guys that do in fact try to plan their trips around a chica that may or may not be on the block when they arrive.

But you cannot ignore the consensus; everyone seems to agree that photos of chicas with their faces in them are the best. But since I only post photos sin la cara, I just won't bother posting them anymore. If you frequent the DR often though, posting photos con la cara is probably not good practice (unless the photos are so old that the chica in them has probably retired and is collecting pension).

Anyone else that decides to post decapitated pics, let me be the first to tell you that ole SavePros still knows how to use his imagination, LOL. I've been to the DR enough time to know what the face of a Dominicana and Haitiana looks like, and have been living long enough to know what the face of a woman looks like (they all seem to be different for some apparent reason).

I think guy who have not been to the DR see a picture of a girl they like, and they hope to meet her, not realising that there are dozens just like her whom they will like just as much. Actually I did the same many years ago and the chica in question became a sort of temporary novia for a couple of days until I ended up throwing her out in the middle of the night. Once guys actually arrive here, they realise that all they have to do is follow the direction their dick is pointing.

People will always post whatever pictures they want, but you have to think about the needs of your viewers. Are they looking for pictures to masturbate over, or are they just wanting to know what the average Dominicana looks like, or do you really have a picture of outstanding aethetic quality that is charming or interesting, or reveals some unusual aspect of Dominican life? As I look through my camera, most of the best pictures seem to involve children or animals or family domestic scenes, so not really suitable for posting here as I would not want to expose innocent animals to the leering gaze of ISG.

I decided long ago that pictures do not quite convey what the photographer is trying to do. A two dimensional icon is no substitute for the three dimensional (you being there) and perhaps even a forth dimension (you being there at a certain point of time). I do not carry a camera any longer (of course, my smart phone by definition is now a still and a video camera). What I see in my mind's eye is nothing I can transfer to an image capturing device.

Strangely, a girl (working in a shop) took my face picture with her blackberry this time. She too wants the ephemeral to be permanent!

If anything, you did the most sensible thing by making the pictures anonymous. As someone else said, we should all do what we individually think is appropriate.

We have similar views on DR and Sosua. Where else can an older guy go for a week and connect not only with beautiful girls, but also with the locals. Whatever their motivations, to me it's the downright friendliest place on earth.

I met a 26 year old who finished 8th grade only and another 21 year old, who works at a law firm as an Assistant and goes to Law School at night and as you rightly pointed out, depending on what I can only describe as "fate", some will make some hay while the sun shines and some will do much better. No matter what, I only wish them well and am grateful to them for having allowed me a little glimpse into them.

I also think the same of any woman I have been with. Not only from the DR. Of course, it was so much more different trying to strike up a conversation in Asia (or with a East European woman in Germany) with my poor grasp of their language vis a vis theirs of English. DR, personally is interesting because, I can speak to them plus it is not that I am speaking to a specific subset, as in Asia or Europe. Here, literally, the "world". Correction, the island, is your oyster.

As a final reflection, I do not want to belittle the women from the Western world either. Yes, their expectations are different, a man of my age would not draw the attention of a 20 year old but no matter where in the world they are from and whether they are 20 or 40, women are the kindest, the most patient and the most flexible while I am such a pain in the neck! No wonder Nature saddled them with the responsibility of re-creating and nurturing life while I as a man can only show my long face and it gets worse as I get older. I thank God every day s / he created women and I would bet all members on this forum think the same! (smiley).
