You will need luck to get $200 for a night. That may get you 1 or 2hrs.
Lots of bars in Wanchai. Metropark has no key access to lift, and doesn't charge for extra guests.
200$ AU translates into almost 1400 HK$. Most times of the year that gets you a decent place, even in Wanchai.
My first report.
Took a walk-up to Pinky in the southern building. 257-273 King's Road, Fortress Hill.
She is available on the 141 pages.
Pictures should be real.
Pro: Fluent English.
Contra: CBJ, no kissing, bad massage.
She talks in english and she talks alot. Kind of crazy girl, but in a positive way.
Nice body, nice face, nice be-cups imo.
I guess she would be fun to take here out for a drink.
Damage for full service: 520.
More to follow.
I was nearby and paid this girl a visit. She is indeed crazy but in that fun way. Very nice personality. She is Thai. When I mentioned the ladyboys in Thailand she said she was a ladyboy but it was a joke, no way she's a ladyboy.
Unlike our friend Mr. Solitude I was able to get BBBJ and CIM for an extra 100.
Worth a visit. She told me she is leaving HK within the next 2 weeks but may return after 3 months or so. She'll be working in Singapore for a while.

Just Musing!
Every week, thousands of HK guys used to go to Shenzhen, Dongguan and nearby places for fun. In ChangPing, Cantonese speakers were everywhere.
After the 'strike hard campaign' which has affected all of Guangdong and adjacent provinces, what will these guys do? I think that Macau would be too expensive for them.
So, I guess that many of them will visit local providers more frequently. This is going to have to have some flow on effect in HK. Will prices rise? Will service levels fall? Will HK change its laws to conform more closely with Beijing's approach? Just musing!

I am looking for suitable accommodation on about AU$200 / night.
Doesn't have to be that much though.
What places are handy to the scene in Wan chai?
Do any of the hotels have nightclubs where WG's frequent? Might save me a walk. LOL.
BTW, thanks for the replies.

I am looking for suitable accommodation on about AU$200 / night.
It depends on whether there is a big convention in town that day. Then prices go way high unless you book well in advance. Most of the time AU$200 is way more than enough. Of course in HK you can spend AU$400, 500, 1.000 no problem. The old Mandarin is still my favorite. But for friends I usually look for places around AU$100, and there are lots. Look on Agoda or Asiarooms.
It is great to stay right there, around Lockhart Road, but if you expand your search to Causeway Bay you will open up a lot of 3-4 star choices around AU$100, and at night it is 5 minutes by cab.
Check out JJ Hotel on Wanchai Road. It is a small boutique with very nice rooms, sometimes as low as HKD500. About a 10 minute walk from the bars. 2 minute cab ride.

I'm looking for an inexpensive hotel in the Wanchai area for around $50.

You can get deals on JJ for $900 to $1000 if you book early.

Both parties below and others have made good suggestions / recommendations (which apply elsewhere too) in the past year and a half. HK is near the top of the most expensive cities list but there are budget accommodations available. If you are budget conscious, there are much cheaper options around the world and region. If you are not, it might be worthwhile to enlist a guide for the first night if you do not have time to RTFF.

Butterfly hotel
Butterfly hotel. I have not stayed here yet, but I read about it in a different forum. Weekday rates are under 1000 HKD. A couple locations in Central and Causewaybay, and one in TST. Looks decent.

At 1000 a night a good deal in Hong Kong. Can recommend!
Am sure it is girl friendly.

My memory was that the price was very volatile, but it was on some nights around HKD500. I just looked at a random date in May on Booking.com and it comes up as HK$720.

Tiger888 will probably know better but by some accounts, total visitors to HK skyrocketed to over 40 million in 2013, of which 30++ were tourists / shoppers from China. It's projected to 60+ million this year so the hotel industry is making tons of money, occupancy rates always high, and of course prices also 'jacked' up. Same hotels I've stayed at for 20 yrs now double or more the price. An extended family member was at Four Seasons last year for $450 a night; this trip he paid $1000 / night. Crazy!
Your best bet might be to contact local TA as they monitor which hotels have best deals. Only downside is once you book, it's on prepaid non-refundable basis.
