Hello gentlemen,

Been reading your helpful comments on Caracas and planning to go in mid / late Feb. With a friend. Past the visa, I was wondering if you needed proof of the hotel you were staying at initially when entering the country. I love hotel attached bar / clubs with pros (like Hong Kong in Tijuana or Estark in Madrid) that let me chat with the girls, chill in a bar / club setting and space out sessions on-site, anything like that in Venezuela or are strip clubs the closest things but only offer takeouts.

[/QUOTE]I do believe that's the case. Last year I had a friend from Peru coming to my city, and even if that's a country that doesn't need a travel visa to enter Venezuela, he was still asked for such proof.

And about your other question, it depends of the Hotel you are staying, but usually if it has a "tasca bar" attached, you will find a few working girls at night.

In short, you are supposed to have a full confirmed booking for the duration of your stay. I remember a couple of times, they made me wait, while they called the hotels to confirm my booking is valid or not.

I visited Eurobuilding but I found this hotel too isolated, maybe it's in a safe area but it's far from downtown. I prefer to stay close to the locals, I like to see how they live. I go to Chacao Cumberland hotel ([URL]www.hotelescumberland.com[/URL]) which is located in Avenida Santa Lucia next to Chacaito metro station. Standard room cost 12000 bolivars, Premium room 14000 bolivars. Room is large with big bathroom, air-conditionner and wifi are working and no water shortage thank to good hotel management (because there is a big water shortage in this moment in Caracas). This hotel charge 4000 bolivars for visiting girl. I found this hotel's location very good, I can walk to Sabana Grande and Plaza Venezuela area where many estudios are located, and all the escort agencias known this hotel. And I can use the metro to move in Caracas faster than using taxi during trafic rush hours.

I also use love hotel to meet working girls. I go to American Dallas in Calle Guaicaipuro which is also close to Chacaito metro station. This is a normal hotel with reception, lobby, restaurant, room service, etc. To make a few more bolivars, the management rent the rooms for short time on the afternoon at 4700 bolivars for a standard room, 8000 bolivars for a suite with jacuzzi. It's possible to stay in this hotel full day but you have to paid two times, one time for the afternoon and second time from 9 pm for the night, so a full day cost in total 4700 x2 bolivars. From 6 pm, there are often 3 or 4 working girls waiting in the lobby. One time I see a very good looking girl coming with a local, I just wait in the lobby and when she finished her business and come down, i asked her to go with me. Also in the restaurant, the bartender offer to call working girls for you.

In Calle Guaicaipuro, just in front of American Dallas, there is another love hotel, Roro hotel. Here a room cost 3000 bolivars for 4 hours. Roro hotel is a real love hotel, all the room have mirror everywhere on the wall and ceilling.

But better play safe, better to have a hotel booking, everything in Venezuela change every minute.

After one week in Caracas, I found the downtown relatively safe on day time. I walked a lot in Altamira, Chacaito, Chacao, El Rosal and in the pedestrian area Sabana Grande. I also take the metro to move through Caracas. I even take the bus to visit suburbs area like Las Minas or Trinidad. Of course I'm always becareful, I go inside a shop or a mall to use my smartphone.

Night time is a different story. From 8 pm, Caracas become a ghost city, the locals stay in their house, most restaurants close at 8 pm or 9 pm, nobody walk in the streets. Only bars and restaurants in Las Mercedes area stay open late on the evening and taxi is the only way to move through Caracas at night time.

With 120 homicides per 100000 inhabitants, Caracas become now the most dangerous city in the world.

Sure I will give you all update I have about Caracas when I will be back to Europe. Now I m traveling by road through Venezuela. But everything in this country change every day, it very difficult to keep update with prices because big inflation.

I am very interested to know more about:

American Dallas in Calle Guaicaipuro.

Lot of hot girls I came across invited me to American Dallas but I was not sure if its safe to go there. Can you please elaborate on.

How safe its there?

Does this hotel have a room safe?

Is it safe to stuff your pocket with Bolivars and go to this hotel?

The hotel where you stayed in full time, this visit, is it safe to leave your money in the hotel safe?

One of the main reasons I stayed in Euro building as I was worried when I am not in the hotel room, someone may take all my bolivars and dollars and my entire stay without usd will be ruined.

I'm planning a trip to Caracas and I found a hotel that allows me to reserve it with my bank card and then pay for the accommodation once I arrive there. Would this be enough for the police at the airport or must I have a bill confirming the room is paid?

At Britisher, I think you might know about this more than others.

Went back to Caracas to cap off the New Year. The safety was the same as before during my initial visit. No problems encountered. Flew out on Dynamic Airways. Big plane, smooth ride but the interior was a bit worn and there was a slight stinch of mold. Stayed in Hotel Pestana. The hotel is in a better location than Hotel Eurobuilding but the food and amenities do not compare. The hotel does have a rooftop pool which provides a sweet view of the city's skyline. The zoo is within 3 minutes walking distance. The hotel allowed me to reserve online and pay upon arrival which is what I suggest considering the exchange rates. One of the gals I hooked up with on the last excursion exchanges money at the best rates I've been quoted. She met me at the hotel to exchange money. Was supposed to hook up that day but it didn't happen and she was busy another day. Wasn't a biggie as she is a sweet person and had a friend exchange me money at a good rate as she left town. I was on the websites and many of the pics were photoshopped. One woman looked like a stick although she had top notch photos. Went to the strip clubs to do the dirt but honestly, there isn't much activity in Caracas. Yes, it's on the cheaper side but I recommend other places such as Colombia or DR. Trust me, you're not missing much and Colombia and DR will lend you a pleasing experience and have many more options. Wish all of you the best who venture there as I won't be returning.
